Torrence is the best news out of week one
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Torrence must be the real deal to unseat Bates before pads go on. Means he’s got it mentally already. Should be exciting news for everyone. -
Is Gabe Davis a trade candidate?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
For me the perfect compliment to a WR1 is someone that stretches the field and scores TDs. WR2’s tend to have flaws. When I say WR2 I’m speaking more about outside WR. Technically a WR2 can be a TE or slot WR also if we’re talking target shares. So sometimes I get those mixed up. We’re not use to saying X Y Z F and so on. Maybe we’re in an era where teams have multiple WR1’s. Multiple $20 million dollar receivers. I think it’s possible. Especially since the league is phasing out high paid RBs. Kincaid could be 2nd in targets when he hits his prime. Wouldn’t he be considered WR2 in that case? Or are we strictly talking X and Z WR’s? Diggs can play every WR position. I want a WR opposite him being a field stretcher. Gabe Davis can do that. So that’s why I call him the perfect WR opposite Diggs. I don’t know if he’ll always be 2nd on the team in targets. He could easily be 3rd as early as this season depending on Kincaid. -

Is Gabe Davis a trade candidate?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think I would want to sign a WR as a WR2. I would rather draft a guy with potential WR1 abilities. I think the Bills need someone capable of replacing Diggs in 2-3 years. -

And that’s where the problem is. So we don’t really want to pay a WR2. We want a player that will be WR1 after 3 years. The problem with those players is they’ll cost north of 20 million after 3 years. Davis will cost 12-15 million. -

He’s actually a perfect WR2 if we look at him as a WR2. I compare him to top WR2’s but those guys are actually WR1’s, Waddle and Higgins for example. Then there’s young WRs on rookie deals with WR1 potential. Davis is a WR2. He blocks and puts up 50-60 catches 900 yards and 8 TDs. That’s a WR2. The question is can we easily replace him? The one thing he does do very well is score TDs. That would be the hardest part to replace. -

Is the AFC East being overhyped this year?

Weird game vs Jets. Bills were close to running away with that game but let the Jets get confident. Allen made a couple mistakes. -

Bills are great. Dolphins are good. Maybe great with Tua. Jets are good. Patriots are average It’s a tough division. But I also think the North and West will be tough. -

Herbert deal signed : 262M - 5 yrs extension
Buffalo_Stampede replied to TBBills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
When Josh Allen signed his deal back to back MVP Aaron Rodgers made like $30 million. Then a year later he was the highest paid QB. Now Rodgers has been passed again by multiple QBs. This will keep happening until the NFL stops growing. Allen will get an extension soon because oddly enough it will lower his cap hit. -

It’s a normal thing at this time if they’re still rehabbing. If a player is still on PUP after the 53 is final then there’s concern. -

Probably not born yet. The question is how much further can the NFL grow? -

Giants and Barkley agree on a 1-year 11M deal
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yet they’ve spent massively on QBs and just keep missing. Building that type of success can happen though. They are also a poster boy for running back by committee. Even putting WRs at RB. Then they trade for McCaffery. They are a weird team. I don’t think they know what they’re doing at QB or RB. They were fine with the committee approach. -

Todays RBs need a Tomlinson. A RB that does everything on the field can line up everywhere and is durable. -

They signed Jones on what they hope he becomes. If he doesn’t take a step forward he’ll be replaced. Yes his production can be replaced easily. That is the thin line with QBs. Coaches and GMs get fired over these decisions. We all know why teams take the risk. Barkley is an elite talent at RB. He’s one of the few deserving of a top RB contract. His issue isn’t so much about being replaceable, it’s injuries. If Barkley were durable he would’ve reset the RB market. There’s so much working against RBs. The elite ones also have to be durable which is hard to do. The main issue for RBs though is the committee approach which gives opportunities to lesser RBs. These lesser RBs then show they can do the job cheaper. Most teams use 2-3 RBs consistently. -

I think most fans would say the same thing around league. I don’t know what the debate is about. -

I have a question. If RBs were free agents out of college would you want the Bills to sign one for $100 million? $50 million? -

QB is different because you can’t replace QBs easily. You know that. Pretty weak question.
