Run it back on offense...

They need a cheap WR1. I wish they went up for Brian Thomas JR. We need to find a WR1 on a rookie contract. Adding a $20+ million Wr isn’t happening. -

They had a horrible plan at WR last year. But they also had an historically good offense. It was just a weird season last year. Part of me says run it back but the majority of me says last year isn’t sustainable. You need WRs that separate. -

Yes. GM and coach called them out though. They need strong offseasons. -

X is our biggest hole so they wanted to draft an X. They drafted Coleman because he fit the the body type of a traditional X and could block. Yes we have multiple options at slot. I think they can move players around. I think they will move Coleman around more next year. This year they probably didn’t want to give him too much. As I said, something like 40% slot is perfect. I also think Samuel’s role can increase next year and move around more to different positions. Kincaid is interesting. I think there’s a possibility that if he doesn’t have a strong offseason the Bills phase him out of the offense. Kincaid and Coleman need strong offseasons. I don’t think either player is going to be handed a role next year. -

Mediocre anything aren’t important. Keon isn’t even mediocre at this point. -

That wasn’t my point. You made it sound like slot WRs aren’t important. If Keon is better in the slot where he can work vs slower players or smaller CBs then put him in the slot. -

I would like to see him in the 40-50% slot rate. Put players in position to succeed. Ceedee Lamb is about 40% out of the slot. There’s nothing wrong with that. -

They didn’t put him in position to succeed as a rookie. A lot of go routes and prayer jump balls. Give him more screens and slants. Get the ball in his hands and let him get YAC. -

They hit on a couple middle round guys. He’s never really taken a top guy. If he really liked Keon Coleman they wouldn’t have traded back for him. That was a pick they shouldn’t have made. -

I’ll say the name again, Darius Slayton. Speed, deep threat. Fits the Bills roster build. Won’t be too expensive. There’s also some upside even though he’s 28. Never played with a QB like Allen. -
Injuries held him back some this year. But, truth is He’s never been that deep threat guy. He’s a get the ball in his hands and create YAC guy. The hope was/is that he can develop into more. He has shown at times that he can run more routes but he’s never really developed into that guy yet.

I would rather sign Darius Slayton over Cooper. But besides that I would bring back every one else. Also draft a WR with speed. Somewhere 2nd-4th round. -

Xavier Worthy is probably the closest thing to Jackson I’ve seen come out of college. Jackson is very rare. There’s really only one player ever like him. -
Is McD actually compensating for Beane?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott’s vision for what he wanted the Bills offense to be shouldn’t be overlooked. He wanted an offense that had a strong OL that ran the football and made Allen’s life a little easier. The defense is due for a rebuild. This is really the first offseason he can rebuild the look of the defense. Let’s see if they become tougher to play against on defense with more physicality and size upfront along with more athleticism in the secondary. -

Travis Kelce said this is the best Bills team they’ve faced. But we believe it’s the least talented Bills team. I guess both can be true. But many Bills fans believe coaching is holding them back. I don’t believe all 3 can be true. -

McDermott is going to have his teams prepared and he’s going to put his players in position to make plays. What he’s not going to do is out scheme the opponent or surprise the opponent. He’s not a tactical head coach. This is likely where he falls short vs the Chiefs in the playoffs. -
Is McD actually compensating for Beane?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve always believed McDermott is king. But I believe Beane got more responsibility when it comes to the roster in the last few years. When McDermott was hired he was basically like Belichick or Andy Reid, he was shopping for the groceries and doing the cooking. That is a little different today but only because McDermott allowed it. -
