Bills official offseason Cap moves thread.
Buffalo_Stampede replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Simple answer is they are about $25 million under the cap with some simple non drastic moves. -
Typical Josh. Practicing his putting and not his check downs.

Per Yardbarker, Aiyuk may want out of SF

He’ll end up in the AFC on a team we’re competing against. -
Bills spent the second most in the nfl on defense

Then you’d be complaining about how they can’t draft good WRs. -

Dyami Brown, Amari Rogers, and Anthony Schwartz were also 3rd rounders that year. The Harty signing was bad. -

If you look at the drafts what were they supposed to do? Who did you want in the 1st 2 rounds? You’d have to go back to before Diggs to find a WR in the 1st 2 rounds. When they added Diggs they had John Brown coming off a career year, Beasley coming off a career year, and also drafted 2 developmental WRs. Whatever you want to say or think about Davis the Bills were very high on him. He never met their expectations. They believed he had WR1 ability. -

You said depth. What did you expect for depth? If this is a Hopkins post you already know he wasn’t depth. He would’ve replaced Gabe Davis and they weren’t doing that. -

Looking through the draft there really wasn’t much for the Bills early in the draft besides 2019. Would’ve had to be a UFA. Again, there weren’t many options. They’ve also been a top 5 offense. How’d that work out for us? People think this is easy obviously, getting to and winning a superbowl. -

They did support him. Built a top OL. True WR1. Good RB. 1st round slot target. The question is Gabe Davis but they liked him. They felt he was a developing WR1. They didn’t draft to replace Gabe Davis, that’s what people don’t like. -

Spotrac has the Bills 6th in offensive cap spending. -

And most of the Bills Defensive cap didn’t play much this year or was a disappointment. -

And they probably lost the most defensive cap to injury the couple seasons. Bills were 6th in offensive spending. -
McD’s fingerprints on draft choices
Buffalo_Stampede replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are one of the top 3 offenses since 2020. So they are better than good. Yes I know. I mentioned Tre because like Bernard they were coached by McDermott’s good friend Dave Aranda. McDermott even said after they drafted Bernard that when Aranda speaks, he listens. It’s clear McDermott has his fingerprints all over the draft. -
Is OT in the playoffs still broken?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whats your strategy if you get a TD on the 1st possession? I think I’m going for 2. I wouldn’t play for a 3rd possession. I’m going for 2. -

But is he wrong? The offense has been good and has the 2 best players on the team. If only they picked other offensive positions over the 3 RBs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds I think we’d have a different view on this. -

It’s a group effort. Beane said a few years ago McDermott trusted management more. McDermott was king early on but the last few years Beane has been given more trust. I still think what McDermott wants he gets. Take Bernard for example, he was 100% a McDermott pick. Tre White as well. His best friend coached them and McDermott trusts that guy with his life. I think McDermott’s fingerprints are on everything. It’s really his show here in Buffalo. -
Allen needs to mentally overpower Mahomes

When compared to Mahomes there’s things Allen needs to do. -
Allen needs to mentally overpower Mahomes
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen does have to improve in game management and situational awareness. Thats what Mahomes has over Allen. I think if Allen ever learns to play situational football he’d be unstoppable. -
Does this team actually have the guts to move on from Tre White?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Jim's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tre White would be a business decision, no guts needed. They have 2 starting CBs and a 1st rounder as their 3rd. Guts comes into play with moving on from Diggs. -
Why do people think he’s holding back the offense? Josh is doing great things. What do people think Josh is going to do with another head coach? 50-60 TDs every year? You guys make no sense. The offense is good and the defense is good under McDermott. McDermott has also been one of the most consistently aggressive head coaches in the league. One of the pass heaviest head coaches in the league, although not under Joe Brady. I know I know, vs 2 of the top 4 QBs in the league he got outclassed. But no one talks about him shutting down Lamar Jackson in the playoffs also. Let’s also remember Josh Allen was not a number 1 overall can’t miss prospect. To think McDermott had zero impact on his development is crazy.
