It’s actually not the case. They ran soft zone. I actually didn’t watch the Superbowl. But doing research many that have broken it down have the Eagles in soft zone 95% of the game. They just did it very well. The Bills on the other hand played cover 1 press man vs KC over 40% of the game!

White was starting to get back in 2023. The Miami game he was flying around and then bam, gone for the year. The next week Milano and DaQuan Jones gone for the year. That defense was rolling in 2023 week 4 vs Miami and it all fell apart so fast. Probably our best defense IMO from a talent standpoint. Floyd and Rousseau edge. Oliver and Jones DT. Milano and Bernard LB, Johnson, Benford, and White at CB, Poyer, Hyde, and Rapp at safety. Injuries killed it.

Everyone nationally is talking about the Bills needing to add an impact player. This offseason will be interesting.

We haven’t had all pro Tre since the first half of 2021. 🥲

Bills scored more points than any other team this season..

With the worst WRs in terms of separation in the NFL. -
And our offense was the best it’s ever been. Im completely confused on what to do at WR. I would love a talented WR on a rookie contract. I’m not sure about spending big cap on one. Our separation stats are so bad. I just don’t know if last years success is sustainable with WRs and a system that don’t create separation.
-
It’s both. Our DBs have never been physical enough early in routes. We typically allow WRs free releases, even in man. We have got to be more aggressive in our coverage come playoff time.

Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy

Chris Brown says it all the time on One Bills Live that they were taking McDuffie. I don’t know why he’s always saying though. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse

They were sticky. Everything was tight early in the routes. Vs Buffalo the WRs were beating our DBs off the ball. -

Interesting thing I keep hearing from Bills media is the Chiefs stole Trent McDuffie from the Bills. There’s people that say they were 100% set on McDuffie. Always the Chiefs. -
Is it time to move on from McDermott?

It’s not 3 years no matter what. I need to see backwards movement to fire McDermott. Missing the playoffs or losing to a team we’re better than in the playoffs. -

They have to be better on defense. Even when the defense was regular season good they weren’t playoff good. They just have to be better, especially in the big moments. -

Maybe the name in the title should change then. I also disagree with firing Beane for at least 3 years, but when McDermott goes Beane goes. -

No, it’s the people that would fire McDermott right now that would be considered terrible owners. -

As Beane said, give me Josh Allen with the ball to win the game in the playoffs every year. What are your thoughts if the same thing happens the next 2 years? That would be 4 years Allen has the ball last to take the lead. Like I said we have to see how it goes. If McDermotts defense blows it on the final drive we blame him. I think if Allen puts the Bills up and the defense blows the game again like 2021 they would consider firing McDermott. -

I don’t consider what the Bills are doing a waste or a failure. They’re having successful season year after year. There are other options. Head coach is firstly the boss, CEO of the team. Next he can be the coordinator of the offense or defense. To me McDermott runs a good team. I like how the Bills operate on and off the field. There’s some clock management issues, challenge issues, but he’s consistently one of the more aggressive thinking head coaches in the league. If the Bills have a similar end next year the clear option is to go after the best defensive coordinator available. -

It really depends how things are going. If the defense is a mess next year then you might consider promoting Brady and letting him hire the best defensive coordinator available. It really comes down to how things go. Brandon Beane even said it, we aren’t getting blown out in the playoffs. I do believe if the Bengals playoff game happened again that they would consider firing McDermott. -

If Oliver was Carter I think we’d have a championship or 3. -

Here’s where I’m at with McDermott. Obviously we can’t go on for Allen’s entire career being 2nd or 3rd in the AFC. McDermott deserves a chance to rebuild his defense. For me he’s got 3 years to make it further than he’s gone so far. If he misses the playoffs I think I would move on.
