Gridiron star mulls over House bid

When Schoop left Rochester for Buffalo he pissed all over Rochester - and talked like he had finally made it big and had landed his career job. Now he is in Buffalo and pissing all over Buffalo. The funny thing to me is the guy that replaced him in Rochester - Brad Davies - came from Utica - went to Rochester and then landed a gig in Houston. It must make Schoop sick that he is "stuck" in BLO and his former replacement is now making a name for himself in a top 10 market.

In 2007 I was pretty happy with Lynch, Poz, and Edwards, and in the later rounds Dwayne Wright (who I was disappointed they releaded him) and Schouman. Before that I would have to go all way back to 2001 with Clemments, Schobel, Henry, Jennings, and Brandon Spoon, Marques Sullivan and Dan O'Leary. This year...I don't know if they will be available - but with a somewhat "reasonable" hope, I would love to see the Bills get Brian Orakpo at 11 and Michael Oher at 28. I would be REALLY Happy if they got Oher at 28 and traded down from that 11 pick to get additional bodies.

A potential long term investment pick? Sort of like our guy Jason Peters - who now that he has met his full potential wants out of town. YES I know Peters was a FA - but I think anyone they take in the first round has to be able to produce now. Having said that - I am not convinced Ayers is a long term investment - but a short term turn around - and would be worth a late 1st round pick if they can trade down to take him later than #11.

I know this subject has been beaten to death - but if I were the GM of the Bills - and I heard Cutler was on the block - I would be on the phone doing whatever I could to get him. I wouldn't give away the teams future but I would definately put together a fair and competitive offer. This team has not had a consistantly winning team in how long? And it seems to me that drought coincides with how long they have had solid leadership at the QB position.

That will give him time and a reason to learn how to play defense.

A little change of topic from the original post: IHO Reed is not tradable - and Parrish is. Granted I don't think the Bills would get much in return - but if the Bills could get a 5th rounder for him - that would be a decent get. I would rather keep Reed (a great blocker and "ok" short yardage receiver) - and trade Parrish. Than keep Parrish (lightening in a bottle as a returner - but never used to his top potential by the coaching staff) and cut Reed for no return.

I am not sure who gets cut - but my guess is that anyone that twists an ankle or breaks a nail in preseason - is headed to a season ending stint on the IR.
