  1. as it stands right now....i truly hope the Bills can find someone willing to trade with them. Bills need to trade down. they need to have a lot of bodies to come in and compete at every single position with the possible exception of MLB and Punter.
  2. was it Ralph he had a difference with or someone else within the organization? something comes to mind that it was someone in a chief finance posistion that gave Polian the map to the door. i am sure Ralph gave his approval on the change but i think it was someone else (can't remember who) that had the problems with spending.
  3. this could be a General Manager job first...followed by a 12 week season to determine a Head Coach.
  4. So....Donald Trump partners with Ralph Wilson and does a 12 week interview process to pick a head coach. each week 12 candidates compete at different coaching and evaluation tasks. The fans, vote each week to fire a candidate and the the best man wins. I am a freakin' genius!
  5. just some more speculation to have fun with,....but if Marv is brought in as President or VP (with Ralph retaining the title of Pres.), Marv might try and convince Ralph to bring Polian back depending on his contract or interest. Or at least Polian's son.
  6. "...umm umm...yes. i just ate Drew Haddad and Roscoe Parrish."
  7. i think this all has something to do with the fact that he went to Brett Favre's farm and commented on his short tight red shorts.
  8. there was a thread started on Sunday that Jeff Burris has some suicidal message during his opening comments of the radio broadcast. i can't seem to find the thread. does anyone have any updates on how he is doing ???
  9. Bingo mister! What worries me is Donahoe. He had said this past offseason he didn't pursue a higher priced LG essentially because they had tied up so much the year before on Villarial and he didn't want to duplicate that kind of contract two years in a row on the same position. God I hope TD gets fired!
  10. thats a pretty good analogy.
  11. i am not suprised....afterall..."These are the times that try mens souls." This book on Greene goes into great detail how the local citizens were required to sacrafice some or all of what they had. When he went into the local communities during the Winter at Valley Forge and some locals refused to assist: (from page 165) "When patriotic appeals and promises of future payment failed, the lash would have the final word."
  12. Back to the original post and my point.....it is still true today, "Truth and righteousness is of no account..." when it comes to politics. I have never been good at these Internet Thread Post Pissing contest debates....(which was not my intent in this thread) I much prefer friendly face to face conversation over a cold beverage. Anyway... To continue the conversation on Greene.... tenny sent me an interesting PM....regarding Greene and some of the problems he had with Congress and Washington. what i like about this current book is that the writer shows not only the positive side of Greene and his maticulous planning and leadership through the Southern battles but also all of his self pity and lack of self confidence. It is a good book that shows all sides of his character including what some today would call "Halliburton'esque" supplier contracts he developed. the root of his comments from my original post are based on his personality conflicts Thomas Mifflin. Who originally held the position of QMG and ran the Army into the ground during the winter at Valley Forge. He indicates that the people who disliked Greene were willing to destroy the entire main army based on their dislike for Greene rather than consider the best interests of many....even if it meant allowing the British to conquer.
  13. consider reading the book to understand fully why he made the statement.
  14. I have been reading the Biography of Nathanael Greene. "Washington's General" by Terry Golway. Nathanael Greene - Biography Greene was one of Washington's most trusted advisors through the revolution....although not without flaws...as I have read this book he has come to be one of my favorite characters of the Revolution. At the second winter in Morristown, (the 4th winter of the war) Greene was the Quartermaster General. The army was half naked and starving and he was unable to get Congress to approve any funding for supplies. He had come to the conclusion that Congress was as much an enemy to the army as the British. He was quoted in a letter to a friend to say: "Truth and righteousness is of no account with these [people]." Somethings never change. This is a great book by the way....highly recommended!
  15. and O'Reilly laughed all the way to the bank.
  16. apparently a lot of "draftniks" like him. if his injury is minor and he is unable to do any predraft workouts.....maybe....and i say maybe because i don't know anything about him.,.....but maybe he slips to the Bills in the 2nd round.
  17. i just tuned in with 13 minutes left in the 4th quarter..... did Keith Jackson say this guy went out with a knee injury????
  18. I think Vic Mackey is the "weak link" to the show. I think the characters of Claudette (CCH Pounder) and "Dutch" (Alan Karnes) make it a "smart" show.
  19. DON'T USE THESE!!!
  20. FIRE RALPH! oh....wait......nevermind.
  21. why? is he sick or something?
  22. this pretty much covers it. do the rules sometimes suck? yeah sure. but if you don't like the rules don't go.
  23. Fans are fickle. And stupid.
  24. i disagree with this. i think any GM that is willing to take the job will only take it if they are given the power to hire the coach they want. and i don't think it is that far fetched to say Ralph will give a new GM that power. Mularkey is only owed 3 million on his current contract for the final 3 years of his contract. (i think). that is nothing compared to the cap hit the team will take if they release a guy like Mike Williams. Sometimes you have to throw the baby out with the bath water.
