the next time he gets passed over for election to the Hall of Fame, maybe this will eliminate 3 weeks of posts of people scratching their heads and asking why.
Sam Adams cut.....and the following three guys UFA likely gone.....leaves Schobel, Kelsey and Anderson as the only regulars left behind. I know that some of these guys could be brought back, but I don't see a reason to.
Nick Mangold is the kid from Ohio State, i believe he is the top prospect in the draft....and it is a dice roll that he might be there in the second round.
FA back room deals are made all the time before they are supposedly permitted.
Let me rephrase that....these deals are not negotiated and completed, but there is a whole lot of "touchy feely" conversations with agents and "unofficial" team contacts.
Not to mention that wherever this report on the Eagles and Bentley came from is probably a load of garbage anyway.
it's funny.....you can read 10 Draft link articles and 5 of them will say Cutler is a top 5 pick with Young nowhere in the top 10, and the other 5 will say just the opposite.
I think the Bills have to go with Ngata if he is there...(if Mario Williams is gone).
The talent drops off on the DL by their second pick, but i think there will be at least a half dozen OL'men who will be able to step in right away and start in the 2nd round.
IMHO
1 Houston Texans: Reggie Bush
2 New Orleans Saints: Trade with Jets
....Jets take Matt Leinart
3 Tennessee Titans: D'Brickashaw Ferguson
4 New York Jets: Trade to Saints
....Saints take Jay Cutler
5 Green Bay Packers: Mario Williams
6 San Francisco 49ers: Vernon Davis
7 Oakland Raiders: A.J. Hawk
8 Buffalo Bills: Haloti Ngata / Michael Huff / Winston Justice
i listen to him for 5 minutes at a time because that is all i can stand.
the other night he droned on about how Syracuse MUST retire Gerry MacNamara's jersey. He is the most overrated played in team history and he spends 3 nights in a row talking about it.
I watched all the games last year and thought Vincent played very well. Not great....but certainly well enough to be a starter for an NFL team. I recall seeing him get beat on a few plays but also so him make more big plays than mistakes.
Milloy. I don't know. I think you really have to be close to the game and study game films to know if he is a guy worth bringing back.
My question is, will these guys perform better in the new defense or will the new system hinder them even more?
I think Nate Clemments was the weakest link in the defensive backfield last year but i don't know how much of that was Nate and how much of it was Jerry Gray's responsability. Obviously the new staff thinks enough of his skill to keep him around. I have to presume they saw Nate get burned repeatedly on game film....yet they want him back...there must be something about the old system that really really sucked.
