  1. Although I don't expect Cowher to come to be the Bills HC - however thrilled I would be if it does happen. I don't give any creedence to any of these ESPN/Coach Sal / et. al Insider reports. I can't remember the specifics about the time Gruden came to coach the Bucs...but it went something along the way of at ESPN and all media outlets were reporting at 9pm Parcells was about to be the HC and GM - two hours later Gruden was being announced the HC and Parcells was off to Dallas.
  2. I think his coaching W-L record is nothing to write home about. 1999 8-8 2000 12-4 2001 10-6 2002 7-9 2003 10-6 2004 9-7 2005 6-10 2006 13-3 2007 5-11 Over all: 80-64 .556 Yes...his coaching record is better than Dick Jauron's - but who's isn't? I would rather take my chances on a guy that has not coached - and roll my dice that we have the next best "new guy!
  3. The Bills should sign Cable......to play DT. I hear he can really kick a@@! (and has a good motor.)
  4. I am disappointed - but not the least bit suprised.
  5. Is this something that has been mentioned with regularity on this board? I only ask, because last night as I was watching the Eagles/Cowboys game I was thinking the same thing. If McNabb plays well and the the Eagles advance a few games into the playoffs....I would offer Lynch straight up for Kolb. I don't know if that would fly..I don't even know if it is a good offer for us or a better one for them...all I know is Kolb is a guy I would target - if McNabb plays well in the playoffs. If McNabb stinks it up this week like he did yesterday, I don't think there is anyway the Eagles move Kolb.
  6. I don't think there is such a thing as a "can't miss QB".
  7. well not really....Fewell would have fullfilled the Rooney rule for a Coaching position...but the Bills also reportedly interviewed John Guy for the GM - so the Rooney rule is covered there.
  8. with the rumors coming out two days ago that the Bills were "back talking with Cowher"...and he was impressed with the team....(who knows if any of that actually took place)....but maybe if it did. - perhaps...Cowher spoke Marty - who coached under Marty in K.C. (i think) and convinced him....the Bills were hiring Nix and he advised the Chin - it is a good hire and he would be a good match. Who knows.
  9. The Bills have had guys make the Pro Bowl in the past...and I am just ho-hum...whoopty doo....but I am genuinely happy for Kyle Williams. Congratulations!
  10. Two words that DO NOT go together: Lockenfora & Insider
  11. What I really like: Eric Wood Jairus Byrd Brian Moorman Rian Lindell What I like: Fred Jackson Shawn Nelson ETA: I love the anticipation of this off season. I have been very sceptical in the past -but for some reason this year, I have a sense the organization is going to take the steps to reorganize this front office and coaching staff. I know that not everyone will be happy when the changes are made, myseld included - by I am excited about the possibilities.
  12. I saw this online today: Oh really... ...what ...exactly..... ...did he.... ...show you?
  13. AVP = intern at Home Depot Customer Service Counter
  14. Put me in the category as - being ok with Weis as a Head Coach - but I want the team to hire a GM first....and let the GM make the HC hire.
  15. I think this pick would be second guessed all day long until we see him line up as a starter on opening day...but I agree...I think he will slide and will be the best avail. QB the draft. The biggest problem is the Bills OLine being able to keep him upright.
  16. I admit I have overstated my displeasure with this organization. However there are a TON of problems with this front office and roster - and as a long time fan for more than 35 years...I am sick of watching a poor product. It wasn't my intent that the entire team should be replaced - nor the spots that need to be upgraded be changed all at one time.
  17. The single hardest thing to do in the NFL. It is such a roll of the dice every single time. Think about how teams had to spend time considering between Manning and Leaf. And Bledsoe and Mier. I wouldn't want the pressure of making the decision of choosing a QB in the first round.
  18. I don't know who wrote the article on the front page of TBD - titled "Blow Up This Roster" - but that is close to my sentiments. I like so little about this roster and organization right now. What I barely like: RB - Jackson & Lynch. These two are similar to one another - and I am ok with them both returning. And if Lynch were traded tomorrow, for a 2nd rounder...I would be ok with it. He is one bone headed offseason move away from a year long suspension. TE - I like Nelson a lot and I can see him developing into a top 10 NFL TE. Maybe not quite a Jason Witten or Antonio Gates - but certainly equal with a Chris Cooley - type TE. OL - The middle parts of this unit are young, solid and developing...but both Tackle positions need a major upgrade. What I don't like at all: The front office is really what needs to be blown up and and erased from the history of the Buffalo Bills. I would fire the whole lot of them. Coaches, and scouts and the ball boy and the guy that turns the lights on and off. I think there are a couple of good coaches...but no one that can't be replaced. QB - I will admit, I wanted to give Edwards a shot to prove himself this year, but he failed miserably - and it is time to cut him loose. I would be ok with keeping Fitzy as a backup - but they MUST get a QB that can lead this team. WR - I don't like any of them. I have really soured on Lee Evans. Maybe with a quality QB he would play better, but in my opinion, he quit playing midway through last season. Reed - although that drop yesterday was a killer - I still think he is a perfect #3 slot guy...but again, he hasn't shown anything that makes me think he shouldn't be replaced. I think TO is a great player...but not this year and not likely ever with this organization...and there is no way he will be back next year. DB - Major problem letting Greer go last season, and the injury to Leodis leaves the CB position tough to grade. At Safety Byrd is the only one I like. I like Scott as solid back up...but he is starting AT LB!. Whitner on defense = Evans on Offencs in my opinion. DL: I like Kyle Williams as an ok #2 DT...but Stroud, Schobel and the other clowns all clocked out a month ago. Take 'em or leave em: ST: Lindell and Moorman are ok....but the rest of this group has cose the Bills too many games over the past couple of years. LB - I am on the fence on POZ. Sometimes I think he is ok...other games he is overmatched from top to bottom. The rest of them are all Free Agent material.
  19. It's football. I love football....and with the season coming to an end...yeah I am excited about it. I hate the off season. It leaves way too much time for...... reading........books.
  20. I.M.H.O. Shanny will crash and burn in D.C. - never to be heard from again after two years working with Snyder. He goes into D.C. with NO star talent on the roster (with the exception of Haynesworth)....and if Snyder buries the organization buying overpriced veteran free agents for a quick turn around, they won't see the light of day for a decade. I will say it is interesting to see that Allen was part of "the package" when the Bills were talking to Shanahan. That is something that was never mentioned in the reports a few weeks ago.....which goes to tell you that even with the Bills junior varsity approach - you just never know what they are working on and not revealing to the public.
  21. I agree...and since I have said Ernie Accorsi is my #1 choice - I would be happy with anyone he reccommends.
