i went with "he's a very good corner".
i'm actually excited to see how he plays this year. i heard a lot of complaints that his play last year was down because of the coaching and the defensive scheme.
not sure that was it but also not so sure he is as bad as he played last year either.
from all i have read about Witner, he might be the first rookie i ever felt had the chance to still be productive and get away with missing a couple of days of camp.
From the article in the Buffalo News on Sunday: Traning Camp Preview #1
Was anyone else thrilled to read this:
I think MM lost the Bills at least a game or two last year due to his poor clock management.
Spikes on Witner
has anyone else heard any public statments from Spikes with regard to this?
I haven't....so I was a bit surprised to read this.
If this is true....
Hey Takeo.....take care of Takeo!
Last 5 Years: Brian Moorman
Last 10 Years: Doug Flutie (personally I couldn't stand the midget, but he did single handedly save the franchise)
Last 15 Years: Frank Reich
Last 20 Years: Jim Ritcher
Last 25 Years: Bill Simpson (although there are a lot more to choose from)
i agree he was in over his head, but i also think given time he would have developed into a solid head coach. the problem is, as Jerry Glanville said, NFL stands for "Not For Long" if you don't come in ready from the get go.
this is what i am hoping for. i remember a couple of years ago the Chargers finished 4-12 in 2003. in 2004 all the preason reports had the Chargers finishing in last place largely due to their awful O-Line.
(sound familiar?)
they finished 12-4 and in 1st place in the AFC West.
that is the story i want to see unfold for the Bills this year.
