It seems that the Conrad Dobler story somehow finds its way to the sports pages a couple of times each year. This is a good story.

Some of what you say is possible....but to count Newt out is a mistake. What you may not know is that Newt has met with Rudy to discuss some of the important positions. If Newt isn't satisfied with the direction Rudy leans he will throw his name in the ring. It will depend on how long Newt waits and how much money he can raise after getting a late start. Rudy is ruling the Republican polls right now but I hardly think he can sustain those numbers. IMHO McCain is a non-factor. I could see Rudi reaching out to a Brownback or Huckabee as a running mate to pull some of the southern social conservatives to his side.

Is Newt relevant? You better believe it. He has steadily moved up in various polls while flying below the radar. He has probably made more visits to Iowa in the past year than any other Republican candidate. And he is extremly important (i wouldn't use the word "inspiring") to people on the right looking for a truly conservative option.

this sums up my position on McGahee also. if they keep him around. i'm ok with that. if they move him...i am ok with that too.

just playing monday morning GM: with Martz runnig the offense they could dangle Roscoe Parrish for a straight up trade and see if they counter with anything.

i think this is pretty accurate. i don't know that i have ever seen a conservative on his show get mad at him for the questions he has asked or seen him get mad at a conservative for the answers given. i do think he pampers and fawns a little too much over some of his liberal guests.

i was looking at it yesterday. it is quite a good site. i wish all news programs provided a full replay. i was watching the John Mellencamp interview yesterday.

For anyone interested in seeing what Newt has to say...he is scheduled to appear on the Charlie Rose show. I for one am becoming more intrigued by his (not "if" but "when") candidacy. As a conservative I am not buying into the Giuliani smoke and mirrors sound bytes on Abortion, Gun Control and Gay Rights.

I watch the Suns when they are on TNT or ESPN. I typically don't see much since most of their games come on at 10:00 EST. I will occasionally watch a quarter of a Denver Nuggets or Memphis Grizzlies game (when available) to see how Carmelo Anthony and Hakim Warrick are playing.

I would like to see the Bills draft a OG in the second or third round, and put him in an open competition with Gandy, Peterson and Villarial. (although I think Villarial will be cut). And let them fight it out for the starting position. It might mean a rookie at LG, and moving Gandy to RG. It might mean Duke to LG and a rookie to RG, whatever it takes, there definately needs to be an upgrade however.
