they got there rear ends handed to them during the mid-term elections two years ago and all the talking TV pundits could do was shake their heads and say the Dems must go back and re-invent themselves. i heard the same statement about a half a dozen times last night. what i think will happen is that certain true moderate republicans who may have narrowly lost races in the past may be invited to change parties.

Kerry retains his seat, however Edwards has lost his.

that is exactly what i was thinking...he kept talking about "we won't stop fighting".... i don't know..i just didn't think it was (pardon me) the right speech at the right time.

I just watched his concession speech and i think it may have been the best speech i have heard from him in the last 6 months.

you want to talk about wasted ss money....how about tr-rayza? or Edwards. Not so much for Secret Service. But this guy has a resume to update. One term Senator who spent half of that term running for President. The folks in his home state must be real pleased with that investment.

would GWB reach across the aisle to a guy like Joe Biden and invite him to be a part of the Cabinet in some capacity?

my take on that would be, that the folks paying to take care of the poor are a little tired of taking care of (some) people who have the ability to care for themselves yet prefer to sit home and be taken care of . and i would say that parents who have children in Iraq were strongly puruaded by those children to vote for a President who would stand by convictions and not let the enemy see a wavering leader.

"base" = majority of all national voters apparently.

i hardly think it was only the Bible Belt that chose for all the rest of us. quit blaming the election results on the Christians and deal with the fact that the majority of those who voted wanted a candidate with high moral character.

Howard Dean is further to the left than Kerry. If the Dems wanted a Moderate candidate...Dean certainly woulnd not have been the guy.

i actually put a tape in for Imus on MSNBC this morning. I only caught a few minutes this morning and although he voted for Kerry his show was VERY Entertaining this morning.... particularly the guy next to Buchanan who said, "this just in....the Bruce Springsteen concert scheduled for Jan. 15th on the south lawn of the White House has offically been canceled."

as a BIG Bush supporter....i disagree. sort of. i think that Kerry had untold hundreds of thousands....perhaps millions working on his election. he owes it to those that made sacrafices to wait until the bitter end. I think GWB was classy to not make an acceptance speech last night. And he should continue to wait. There will be plenty of time for him and his supporters to celebrate.

The Air America Radio Network I was listening to them this morning expecting to gloat....but these people are in such denial....they could ruin a wet dream.

hmmmm...alright! I can't say that I would have the goodness to post the same for Kerry had he won.

Thanks for the great story JA! i work with a woman who is about 60. she is a chronic complainer. if the skies are blue she complaines that the sun is in her eyes....if the skies are gray she complaines that it is gloomy. this past year she had to do some serious juggeling to afford health insurance. and she picked up a part time selling Avon products. I asked her yesterday if she intended to vote.... she looked at me like i said something vulgar...and said..."no...freakin' way!" followed by a few obseneties. I wanted to grab her by the neck and shake her.
