To the people of the ACLU: MERRY CHRISTMAS! And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. From the book of Luke: Chapter 2

Here is Pinky's excuse: -- Pinkston Explains Questionable Effort -- The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Eagles WR Todd Pinkston, who pulled up short on a long pass over the middle from QB Donovan McNabb on the Eagles' first play from scrimmage in Sunday night's 17-14 win over the Redskins, said he lost the ball in the lights. Replays showed Pinkston breaking away from Redskins SS Ryan Clark and running downfield to where McNabb was lofting a long ball on target. Pinkston was not there to catch it, though, after appearing to quit on the play as Clark closed in on him. "I lost the ball in the lights," he said. "I didn't see it until the last minute." At his news conference yesterday, HC Andy Reid defended Pinkston, who finished with three catches for 99 yards, including an 80-yarder. "I don't question Todd because Todd is a pretty tough guy," Reid said. "I don't worry about it at all. He sure came back strong and made some nice plays. He's been hit harder than anybody. It's not a matter of him being afraid of defensive players or a situation." Pinkston has 34 catches for 642 yards this season and is beginning to see more coverage on the field, Reid said. I don't know which is worse....Pinkston making the excuse. Or Reid defending him.

i don't. but i read a little bit ago that the reason he said he pulled up on it wasn't because he was afraid of getting laid out....but because he lost the ball in the lights. this guy is so funny, he should do a Vegas act.

(OT) any TDBers living in the Charlotte NC area?
OnTheRocks replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not interested in the DTV stuff right now..thanks! i was hoping to find out what the nicer areas are in the Charlotte area. North, South West Eas side? Stuff like that. -
apparently you have nothing to talk about on the lousy Bengals Message Board?

"He also wouldn't let the cameras pan below his chest, where they could see his brace or the swelling in his joint." That used to happen to me when I was in Jr. High.

Extremely off topic.....looking for advice
OnTheRocks replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently there appears to be some sort of animosity between the school and your family. I would go to the next school board meeting, and voice your concerns. I would not give any warning to the Music Teacher or the Principal of your intent to go to the Board. The best way to get these people to take notice of your concerns is to take them by surprise. -

kill the music teacher hag with kindness. if that doesn't work...simply...well you know whats coming....just kill her. -
I agree. I think he was just saying, he wanted to see Carson Palmer remain healthy, productive, and successful....forcing Kitna to not play. Kitna is one of the good guys in the league.

I like the Bills chances. The Bengals are hitting on all cylinders on offense, but they are weak on D. I say the Bills play that power running game they have talked about all year and control the time of posssesion....and the Defense forces the ball down Palmers throat so early, he poops it out by halftime. Final: Bills 31 Bengals 12

This from Chuck Missler back in 2001. There are many in the secular world that think Missler is a nut case. But the fact is he is probably one of the most intelligent people on the planet. (IMHO) http://www.khouse.org/articles/currenteven...010601-344.html

Should we consider Jerry Gray
OnTheRocks replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i am not saying he isn't the best the Bills have ever had, but my favorite was and still is Tom Catlin. -
why is his ypc so low? 3.8 ??

From Pro Football Weekly's "Whispers" section: Word is that if Bills DT Pat Williams, an unrestricted free agent after this season, has his way, he’ll re-sign with Buffalo. Unless he’s blown away by a top-dollar offer elsewhere, Williams, who lives in Orchard Park, N.Y., owns a car-detail shop in the area, is playing alongside his good friend Sam Adams and whose charitable foundation is based in Buffalo, would give a home-team discount if the Bills’ offer is a fair one.

Has there been one game in our resurgence...
OnTheRocks replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i have noticed a lack of "power running" early in each game as well. But McGahee wears a team down...and gets stronger as the game goes on. In each of his games he went over 100 yards, I wouldn't be suprised to find out that he avg'd 30 yards in the first half. -

Monday morning Don Criqui Rant
OnTheRocks replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i have heard a number of people post this ....and i just don't hear anything annoying from Tasker during the games. I think he is about Avg. Nothing spectacular, but far from horrible. -
when Losman entered the game....he refers to him as: JR Losman then JT Losman and then never corrected himself a 3rd time. I know this is trivial....but...it just makes me nuts. I guess in Criqui's defense...he was probably on his 6th martini by the time Losman checked into the game.

Even though Willis didnt break a long run
OnTheRocks replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EXACTLY! This guy has a menacing stiff arm! At least once per game, and typically a few times each week, he is just flattening would be tacklers with that stiff arm! I also agree....this week more than ever, he actually looked fast. -
Obscure Bills players from the past
OnTheRocks replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
a few of you guys have listed players I wouldn't exactly call obscure.. (Jim Braxton, Chrales Rhomes) These guys excelled for a number of years. My obscure list includes: Booker Moore FB Hal Garner LB Derrick Burroughs DB Matt Robinson QB Jon Borchardt OL ...and some guy named Orenthal.
