  1. I don't want Garcia as a starter. Strictly as a backup. I think if you have a guy who,....although he was horrible last year....plays a similar style to the guy you are grooming to be the future of the franchise, bring in someone who, if he has to play....isn't going to need an entire new offensive game plan to fit his skillset.
  2. i undrstand it was the "feel good movie of the year."
  3. Not that anyone was expecting Blesoe to go to Arizona anyway.....but...here is a tidbit from FFMastermind. I personally think Jeff Garcia would be a nice fit in Buffalo considering his style is similar to JP. -- Cardinals Eyeing Johnson or Garcia? -- Tue Feb 8, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals aren't about to give up on QB Josh McCown. They will tender him a salary of $1.4 million to assure that he comes back next season. But what they will do is create competition at the position. McCown may go into training camp as the starter, but he will be pushed right from the get-go by an experienced quarterback who believes he can wrest the job from him. That quarterback will not be QB Shaun King, who sometime within the next few months will likely be released. (The Cardinals also have the right to QB John Navarre for the next three years and since he was a Green draft pick, he is expected to be with the team this coming season as the No. 3 guy.) The interesting part about the class of free-agent quarterbacks is, the group is expected to be better and more crowded with the possible release of QB Drew Bledsoe in Buffalo, QB Jeff Garcia in Cleveland and QB Brad Johnson in Tampa Bay. While the Cardinals will show no interest in Bledsoe should he be available - they believe his best days are behind him - don't be surprised to see the team make a play for Johnson or Garcia.
  4. no pun intended.
  5. i saw Million Dollar Baby. anyone want me to spoil the ending for them?
  6. Either Amnesia...or the Evil Twin / Good Twin storyline.
  7. sweet! that is what i am talking about!
  8. I think you will find out that Heller's son does know something. Just a guess.
  9. I am sure many of you know who he is. He announced the SU/UCONN game last night. In my opinion....which I hold in a very high regard Bill Raftery is not only the most underrated sports announcer....I think he is the absolute best. He is the only guy that never seems to have a personal motive behind his commets when calling a game. He simply loves basketball, and enjoys being around the game. He has the same upbeat "with a kiss" approach whether he is calling an exciting sold out college game like last night or a lousy NBA road game between the Nets and Hornets. And to top if all off....he is an all around good guy.
  10. the question is...."Is Marianne dead?" no solid evidence given last night. i wasn't suprised when the sniper took the one dude out by the helicopter, but that did suprise me when Marianne's car blew up!
  11. would you stop with this already!!!
  12. i posted some props for the Pats, but I was screaming for the Eagles to win.
  13. That is a good question. Brady is something else the way he just maintains composure and stays calm. I watched him come off the field after the Givens TD and after the Dillon TD, and he never got nutty. Just remained real cool. Very much like Montana. I looked over a list of a QB's and I think given the proper team around them, Steve McNair Trent Green Chad Pennington...(he looked cool and calm against the Chargers and Steelers). I would love to say Peyton Manning, but, he hasn't proved he can win the big game even though he had the whole team around him.
  14. Listen....if this organization was wearing the Bills Uniform, we would all be messing in our pants, and we would be calling for a National Holiday. This has been a great and organization and team for two years, and very good team for the past four. They also help to justify that the Bills are in the toughest division in football. Congratulations to the Patriots! Having said that.....Are they a Dynasty? The NY Yankees of the 1920's were a dynasty in MLB. The Celtics of the 1960's were a dynasty in the NBA. Comparing the Yankees and Celtics of past era's no. But comparing them to other NFL Championship teams,.....The Patriots are close.....and I don't know what they have to do to be considered a dynasty, maybe they are. I just think you have to win more than 2 championships back to back, and more than 3 in 4 years. IMHO.
  15. i don't think Drew should be gone...i just think that is a decision that Mr. Donahoe has already made.
  16. i will be very suprised if Drew is back with the Bills next year. i doubt they will trade him....i foresee they cut him and take a 4.something cap hit. Some hack was on local sports talk radio yesterday and made a good point. The Browns are considering cutting Jeff Garcia. I would not be thrilled with him, but he fits the same style of play that I expect to see from JP Losman....which in turn makes sense to bring in a vet that plays the same style as your star of the future. how much could Losman learn from Bledsoe, Kurt Warner...etc.?
  17. I don't know about the girl on the Street Smarts team, but all of a sudden, Stephanie on the Books Smarts team is looking like a pretty hot hoochie momma! Her along with Audrey on the other team! Last nights show really sucked. I am a little tired of watching everyone attack the Team Leader. I would start firing people off of my team if I faced so much insubordination.
  18. i remember one time he was a contestant on the Hollywood Squares
  19. A few names come to mind are these players who have/had speed, but are not known as "burners", but have great hands, and great route running skills. Brandon Stokley Wayne Chrebet (maybe not anymore) Hines Ward Easy Ed McCaffery Derrick Mason
  20. I think this news report (below) is interesting. The Seahawks have been jerking Walter Jones around for how long now? 3 years with this franchise tag? Now, they have one month to get their act together with Jones, Hasselback, and Alexander. The more I think about it, the more I think Seattle would be a great fit for Henry. And having a guy like Mack Strong blocking for him would be a big asset. So the Seachokes let Alexander go. They then have the money to tie up Hasselback long term, sign to Jones to a nice 4 or 5 year deal, and then bring in Henry with an afforable first year. I really like Shaun Alexander, but I think he burned a few bridges with his post game comments about losing the rushing title. From Alexander to Henry is a bit of a downgrade but not as bad as Alexander to Maurice Morris. -- Alexander Interested in Miami -- Thu Feb 3, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com The Sun Sentinel reports if Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander is allowed to become a free agent next month, he could draw interest from the Dolphins. Alexander is interested in the Dolphins after they hired HC Nick Saban. Alexander mentioned Alabama assistant Charlie Harbison, who had a stint with Saban in Baton Rouge. "He was at Alabama when I was there," Alexander said. "And he spoke very highly about the work ethic of Nick, and how he really willed the coaches to be great coaches, and the players to be great players. I think you get coaches like that, that makes Super Bowl teams." Alexander, whose 1,696 yards for the Seahawks were 1 yard short of the total posted by the Jets' Curtis Martin, first publicly expressed interest in the Dolphins' situation two months ago, before Saban's arrival. Wednesday he also mentioned Cincinnati and Tampa Bay as possibilities, listing family comfort and team direction as among his priorities. Seattle could place a franchise tag on Alexander, but the contracts of OLT Walter Jones and QB Matt Hasselbeck are also up. The Seahawks' front office is in transition, rendering their moves unpredictable.
  21. actually....if i remember correctly....Charles Rhomes missed the pick...and Bill Simpson missed the tackle. i could be mistaken..
  22. left pinky. i smashed my elbow two weeks ago,...and the nerve to my pinky has been numb ever since.
  23. Charles Rhomes.... I loved him too....until he went for a pick on the Dan Fouts pass to Ron Smith in the 1980 playoff game,.....it reminds me of Nate Clements going for a pick against the Jags in game one of this year on the final drive.
  24. I know Freeman has been a backjudge in the NFL for the past few years now, but has anyone been able to see how he is graded? Does he have a chance to move up in the ranks and become a head Ref? Back in the day, he was one of my favorite players. Kurt Schulz would later come around and remind me a lot of him.
  25. Any truth to the rumor that she has a bunch of endorsement deals lined up??
