OT - In memory Of Stern Leaving E!
OnTheRocks replied to EZC-Boston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i liked any episode with Hank the Angry Drunk Dwarf. (RIP). Especially the one when he was dressed like the Easter Bunny standing in front of the illusionist David Blaine while he was doing one of his "three day illusion" deals an screaming, "You're a fake!" -
my wife went to a wedding with her mom in florida today....of all days...and she won't be back until Sunday...so...i took the day off....and worked in the yard. taking a periodic break to suck down a cold bottle of root-beer. (and a gatorade or two). i am now so tired it hurts to blink. Happy Birthday Aussie! Thank you all for you kind wishes. I know if it weren't Aussies' B-Day, no one would have thought of me.

Fantasy Football trade advice
OnTheRocks replied to The Riddler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i would say no. the other guy is taking advantage of the fact that you are a Bills fan. the 2nd rounder "add-on" is way too steep. tell them you will make the deal straight up. -
I'm curious. Does anyone think Travis Henry is
OnTheRocks replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i didn't put that much thought in to my post to care as much as you do....but my point was not comparing them by intelligence but that since Henry isn't the smartest guy in town, he may not be smart enough to stay in shape....hence the comparison of Smith and not being in good condition. -
i'm a little confused by the thread title. are there critics of Gitmo?

Six Years Ago Today....
OnTheRocks replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ahhhh....a bittersweet memory for me. my wife had never watched hockey a day in her life. we were in Pittsburgh because she had to have brain surgery. we were in her hopspital room watching the game....and she starts going nuts enjoying the game....and becoming a fan...and i was trying to keep her calm. after the 2nd OT i left for the hotel......when the game was over....the room phone rang. it was my wife yelling "No Goal". -

i think it is funny that you post this question because i was thinking the same thing last week. he has never come across as the sharpest knife in the drawer....and i kind of think he is going to be like Antowain Smith trying to pass Belichick's annual wind sprint test. You would think that after he failed it two years in a row, he might come into camp in decent shape. I kind of think Travis Henry is cut from the same clothe. -

kind of you to offer that...however....you really should consider the e-bay thing. especially with the lionel trains. $$$$$ Don't they go for close to $300. per train car? -
one of the major ones? is it ok to break any of the less major ones? this has nothing to do with what you just said VA, but one of the things that always bothers me is when someone says they are going to heaven because they keep the 10 Commandments. Then you ask them if they can name them, and you hear a lot of what my deaf grandmother hears.

didn't Hillary Clinton say that?

Willis McGahee #4 in ESPN Fantasy Draft

i didn't hear the program, but i would agree that if it wasn't Priest Holmes it would have been Peyton Manning. -
I am not Catholic but am a "Born Again Christian". I am sorry you feel that way about Organized religion. My typical response to that is when someone says they had a bad experience for one reason or another, visiting churches and trying different denominations should maybe be like falling in love. Just because one breaks your heart and/or dissappoints you, doesn't mean the next one will. After the first girlfriend broke your heart, did you decide you would never go out with another girl again? Just because one church isn't what you think it should be for whatever reason, it shouldn't leave you so jilted that you never go again or generalize that they are all the same. (Rock - for the record i know you did not say they were all the same). In regard to your experience...i don't know what to tell you. In our church the guy that does the announcements and greets people ususally says, "if you are visiting please know that our church is fully supported by the tithes and offerings of our memebers so please do not feel any obligation to give anything. (I know that is what he says, because i am the guy that says it.) As far as the message, yesterday my Pastor preached a message on the love of the prodigal son's father. Good stuff.

The link below is from the front page of TBD. I have two questions for conversation. I personally think Mike Gandy will work out fine at LT, but with Mike Williams finally perhaps "coming into his own" and a huge salary escalation next year (i think that is the case) is there a chance the Bills will put all their eggs in one basket and move Big Mike over to Left Tackle? I can't see him making LT money on the right side. My other question is in regard to the comments about Bennie Anderson. It is subtitled "Scouting Report", but is this Allen Wilson's scouting report? Or is it a Scouting Report from a "real honest to goodness" football scout being reported by Allen Wilson. Because although I think Wilson is an "ok" writer.....he isn't an NFL Scout. I want to know what Jim McNally thinks of the LG. Has anyone read any comments from him? Sporting News Comments

At what point do the Bills address Kevin Everett's contract? This may have been discussed when he first got injured but, i'm too lazy to search the threads. Has this ever happened to the Bills before? I am guessing they will sign him last even after they sign Roscoe Parrish. Is there a minimum or a max, or even some sort of average salary they are required to offer him?

There is an interesting article titled: "Recruiting War - How the Bills land the best of the undrafteds" Funny reading Jerry Gray quotes referring to conversation while working the phone with Wisconsin Safety Jim Leonhard: "He said he was considering Baltimore. I told him they were only the No. 6 defense (last year)."

wow...i didn't realize that honestly misquoting a tired old SI column writer would draw such ire. just call me "Mitch Albom" and stick a fork in me.
