  1. WE WANT LAMONICA ........ WE WANT LAMONICA ......... WE WANT LAMONICA
  2. Things that bother me ......... a burlap thong squeezing lemon juice on papercuts rolling around naked in fiberglass insulation
  3. That is a crock of BS ......... the reason Gray has not been fired yet ...... and the ONLY reason that he hasn't been fired, is that if for some ungodly reason he gets hired as a HC, the Bills do not have to pay him any remaining wages or severence package ..... however if he is fired, some sort of severence package is owed. IMHO ...... either the Bills know they are going after a replacement who is currently in the playoffs ........ or have a "verbal agreement" with someone currently available so therefore time is on the Bills side.
  4. When I first read this thread, my knee jerk reaction was O-line because it has stunk so bad for so long .......... but upon further review .... I think with a little "tweeking" added to JP having a little more experiance, considering JP is SUPPOSED to be a bit more mobile than the QBs we've seen lately. I would say just a slight improvement along the O-line will realize a significant improvement. The D-line however seems to have imploded with the loss of phat Pat. IMHO, we either have to reasses our D-line philosophy because of our loss of Pat which pretty much rendered Sam ineffective ..... thereby "honking up" our LB corps (TKOs injury didn't help either). Orrrrrrrrrrr luck out and find a replacement for Pat that compliments Sam. I really don't know which line will take more tweeking ..... but the tweeks to the D-line are more critical, and more chancy.
  5. I don't think it is a case of ... no love. It's a case of he hasn't done anything to date to earn any love. As Bills fans we all hope he does well, however the adults among us refuse to vote him into the hall of fame quite yet. We understand he will make his rookie (or first year starting) mistakes, we also understand that he may, or he may NOT develop into a good QB. We understand that JP (at this time) is just the next in line, of a long LONG line of players trying to attain Jack Kemp/Jim Kelly status.
  6. IMHO .......... the situation with Sam Adams and Bruce Smith are closer than the Smith/Williams situation. I think what Marv did with Smith was to develop a defensive gameplan/philosophy/personality that played to Bruce's strengths, then made Bruce understand that with his level of talent, this system would make him a star ... while I don't feel Sam Adams will ever reach the level of Bruce Smith ... I do think Sam can be very VERY disruptive if he were used properly. I also think, with Mike Williams ...... there needs to be some butt kicking by the conditioning coach, some ego smoothing by the head coach, and some confidence rebuilding (who I think Marv would excell at).
  7. Exactly HOW much evaluating does this roster need??????? Aside from JP who still does need some evaluation/experiance, exactly who do we need to "evaluate" ....... and if your answer is we have to evaluate the O-line ..... even a dumbshit like me can tell you it stinks. If we spend all season "evaluating" either the O-line, or the WRs, or the RBs ....... where does that leave us with the QB "evaluation"?????? I for one am not looking forward to throwing another year away (and maybe throwing another QB under the bus) while saying ...... if we only had a line ...... IMHO ....... if the past brain trust (and I use that term loosly) couldn't "evaluate" our roster by the last few seasons tape review, mini-camps, preseasons, training camps, practices, and game performances they should have been fired ...... which looks like the direction we are taking .......... now if the current/future "brain trust" is incapable of evaluating our roster by tape review, mini-camp, preseason, and training camp .......... RW should fire all of them (including every player on the team) ....... forefit the season, and start from scratch the year after next.
  8. I think we should draft the shortest Wide Reciever we can find
  9. I know .... I know ... I know ...... Each one missed playing time this year due to injury ......... But would have had more yards than Willis if they had played all year.
  10. Actually you are the one who doesn't get it ...... What I was trying to say without being a dickwad is that no one knows if Marv will do a good or bad job until he actually gets a chance to DO a job, and anyone who claims he or she DOES know, is just trying to blow smoke up our collective anal orfices. The secondary point I was trying to make was that even if we don't know the eventual outcome of Marvs performance, I felt Marv is an easy guy to root for because of his philosophies/personality/humor as opposed to TD who I thought was a condesending egomaniac !@#$.
  11. I must admit I am the king of the Flutopians ........... but that even made ME laugh and shake my head in disblief.
  12. If you're thinking Kelly Holcomb or some other veteren QB is "the QB to start next year", you may be right .............. however .......... remember Marvs reluctance during his tenure to start inexperianced players. This post isn't ment to say I favor starting KH over JP next year .... to be honest, I'm not sure what the heck I'd do if I were in MM/ML shoes.
  13. They can say it the same way as people can say Marv will save the Team .... or JP will be a good (or bad) QB ...... or that our 1st round pick will be a difference maker (or bust). In reality we really don't know for sure ..... however we all have our own internal prejedices, we all have our own internal "picture" of what makes a good or bad GM, coach, or player ........ we can FEEL Marv may stink as a GM, or FEEL he'd do well but we just won't know until we have a body of work to look at. I myself would like to see him do well because I'm a Bills fan first and foremost, but also because I just like the guy ..... he's always seemed like a pretty straight shooter to me, and he has a personality and sense of humor that I enjoy. He's just the kind of guy I WANT to root for.
  14. I don't get this whole "over paying" thing everybody is talking about ........ Quality football players cost exactly what quality football players cost, plain and simple. While I will agree that sometimes a diamond in the rough can be found who will play for chump change ........ by and large ....... cheap imitations of a football player are just cheap. Pat Williams was NOT over paid ..... we just couldn't (or wouldn't) find a way to pay him what he was worth. IMHO ..... a football team needs to build around a nucleus of solid quality players ... at contract time the team MUST find ways to retain their services, or replace them with equal or greater quality.
  15. I may agree with you ...... BUT ..... if Singletary is smart, he will understand that he has only been coaching for three years (I think that's accurate) and he just may not be ready for a head coaching job, especially with a dysfunctional team like the Lions. I can't really say that the Bills are any LESS dysfunctional than the Lions or the 49ers ..... but the "spotlight" will not be shining as much on him in a DC spot as it would as a head coach coming to a team (that I suspect) has less talent both in the locker room and the front offices than the Bills. Choosing between staying "pat" with the 49ers, and taking a promotion to come to the Bills may be a harder choice.
  16. I heard that too ...... and it sounds like (to me at least) that Haz is sending a signal to the Bills that he dosn't EXPECT to only come here as a head coach ...... but is willing to "come home" as a co-ordinator. I think I would prefer Singletary as our DC over Haz though ..... and I do believe a DC position would be a promotion for him. He'd just have to decide would his current position with the 49ers, a head coaching job with the Lions, or a DC position with the Bills be better for him in the long run.
  17. That's what has me scratching my head ........ I'm not near as astute as I'd like to picture myself ...... I am a fan ..... and that is the entire depth of my football knowledge. BUT, even I've known our line has stunk the last few years. TD ...... right or wrong ..... astute football mind or not ..... he IS well respected in football, he has made his living in the NFL for a few years now, he is most certianly a heck of a lot more knowledgable of the REAL talent level, injury status, etc of the Bills than I. Why hasn't he recognized the lines stunk .... why in five years couldn't he improve the piss poor line .......... it just baffels me.
  18. I wanted to like MM ...... I really did. But what has soured me on him is his seeming inability to "handle" the veteran players (and maybe coaches) to form a team with personality. Without coming down on either side to argue who was "right" in the Adams, Williams, Moulds, (and maybe Clements) fiascos, I think they were handled poorly. The reasoning I'm including Clements in this mix is that I'm not really convinced that he was relieved of his OC duties because of poor play calling ...... the only "evidence" I can offer is that the type of plays being called did not change significantly once MM took over the duties. My impression (and keep in mind it's only my impression) is that MM is an inexperianced head coach ...... making mistakes (as any inexperianced coach/player will do), but his ego will not allow him to accept any "input". An OC disagrees with the offensive gameplan ......... he's relieved of his duties. A probowl DT disagrees with the way he's being used ...... inactivate him. A probowl WR says the playcalling sucks ...... suspend him. Now I agree it's the job of a head coach to basicly impose HIS will on the team .... however I think there are less "heavy handed" and less "disruptive" ways to do it.
  19. Haz has publicly stated that he wants to stay coaching so bad he is willing to take a co-ordinators job .......... So here is my rumor ........ Haz gets hired by the Bills as the defensive co-ordinator ......... that way, we have a ready made "replacement" that allows RW to keep MM on a short leash. I'm not saying that he'd be my choice (I like Mike Sherman) I just think that this scenario explaines the strange quote from Haz.
  20. It may be a clever disguise ........ maybe he's just PRETENDING to be smart
  21. Scott .... this is the same kind of "double secret inside info" that Mortenson has been "leaking" the last few days .......... Hmmmmmm Has anybody on the board EVER seen Scott and Mort in the same room at the same time ........... could they be the same people ...... ...... .....
  22. My take: Offense: Tom Clements, OC: Gone ... although I'm not 100% convinced it's his fault ... I suspect he was sabatoged by MM. Sam Wyche, QB Coach: Promoted to OC Eric Studesville, RB Coach: Gone ... we need better production from our RBs Tyke Tolbert, WR Coach: Gone .... in an appeasement firing in an attempt to retain Moulds (and this was the sticking point during last nights meeting between MM and RW) Jim McNally, OL Coach: Stays Mike Miller, TE Coach: Stays Defense: Jerry Gray, DC: I have a feeling he'll stick around for some reason. Tim Krumrie, DL Coach: I wish he were staying, but I think he's the designated sacrificial lamb for the defensive coaches. Don Blackmon, LB Coach: Sticks Steve Szabo, DB Coach: He SHOULD be gone because I'm tired of watching our DBs play 10 yards off the LOS ...... but he'll stay. ST/Misc. Bobby April: If there is justice in this world ...... he stays Brad Roll: If there is justice in this world ....... he's gone
  23. To Tom D ...... WHAT IN THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING
  24. Did ya ever think that just maybe the coaches aren't just listening to the players ..... that maybe ....... just MAYBE ...... they have seen something in JP that leads them to believe JP just sucks???????????
  25. You play him simply because he's a football player ..... and football players play in football games. It's the end of the season ..... everybody is "dinged up" to some extent. JP needs experiance ..... I say lets give him experiance. It's not like the O-line fairy is going to whack the Bills this off season and give them talent .... and IMHO .... if we couldn't build a decent O-line in the last five years, nothing indicates we can fix it by next year .... so bottom line is, JP should expect the same level of protection next year as he would get this year (if it DOES get better .. good deal .. just don't expect it to get better). I could see holding him out if we had clinched a playoff berth, and he needed time to heal for a run in the playoffs, or they wanted to avoid the risk of injury in a meaningless game prior to a playoff appearance ...... but as it stands now, he has all off season to heal his boo-boos. At this point I am neither a JP supporter or detractor ..... as a Bills fan I hope he does develop and mature, but I am open to the possibility that he very well may not. I just feel that with his benching these last two games the "brain trust" are trying to set him up as their "excuse" for a poor season.
