I agree with going after Rogers .... but I would like to propose we go after Brady too as Aaron's back up ..... that way we have a starter and a decent back up if that pesky calf injury flares up again. While we are at it we may as well get Brees and Rivers too for "camp arms" and to provide a little competition in training camp.

Who is the Bills biggest division rival right now?

Dolphins .......... I'm STILL not over the 0 fer 70's -
Mike Williams' agent to meet with 6 teams in Indy

I would have loved to know the real story on both him and Urbik .... were they so bad they couldn't crack the lineup ... or was it something personal between them and the coaching staff? -
Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
macaroni replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMHO ... that is the direction we will be going in ... instead of trying to turn E.J. into Manning, we are going to try and turn him into Alex Smith. Build a "dream team" around him, and task him to not not loose the game. I just don't see the QB out there that is a sure fire chance to be better than E.J. at this time. I think we build the team ... bide our time and wait for our chance to get a potential "star QB. -

Doug Marrone opts out of contract

I wonder if they told him to fire Hackett and Morris, and Marrone pulled a Melarkey -
Can we hold onto Schwartz for next year?
macaroni replied to LA Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually if we HAVE to lose Schwartz, this may be the season to do it. Rex Ryan will certainly be available soon after the final game, and he at least would be a suitable substitute. Don't get me wrong, I don't want Schwartz to go but if he does ..... just sayin' -
I wonder if that was the reason for the "blow-up" between Marrone and Whaley early this season ........... Whaley telling Marrone that he was trading for Williams, and Marrone feeling that Williams had quit on the team in college said that he didn't want him on the team .... both digging their heels in and Whaley got adamant about getting Mike, and Marrone getting adamant that he wouldn't play him. Just a guess on my part because I can't figure out why Mike doesn't get more playing time in the red zone

my biggest fear is that our DBs "play soft" at the LOS and Manning dinks and dunks us up and down the field with short 5 - 7 yard passes......... kinda like getting pecked to death by a flock of ducks

Should the Broncos sit Manning for his own safety?
macaroni replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If our DBs insist on playing 5 to 7 yards off of the line of scrimmage, Payton will kill us with the quick 5 yard patterns and our D-line won't get a sniff of him .... however if our DBs crowd the line and disrupt the bronco WR's routes, then I see baaaadddd things in store for Mr. Manning. -
I wonder if the Bills move to Toronto, will they play one game a season in Buffalo to "regionalize" the franchise?????? Will the "Torontonians" HATE the idea of giving up a home game???? jus sayin' .....

Maybe it really is on like a mofo....
macaroni replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
now I'm confused ....... is it on like a MoFo again ......... or is it STILL on like a MoFo? I never head that it was off like a MoFo -
Didn't we end up last in the division last year???? I'm pretty darn old so maybe I don't remember so well.
-
I don't even want him if he's available in the seventh round

6foot 5 and 240 pounds may have something to do with it

If I were king of the world (I'm not) ... I would add two expansion teams, one in AFC and one in NFC.I would then eliminate cross conference games. The schedule would always be each team plays every team in their conference once, with the top however many teams making the playoffs, and the Super Bowl reverting to NFC vs AFC conference champs.

My biggest concerns about E.J. is that he never seems to set his feet. He is always hopping and moving his feet like he is really REALLY uncomfortable in the pocket, IMHO this leads to his inaccuracy and underthrowing the long ball. Another concern has been mentioned a few times by other posters in that he seems to be playing with a very limited playbook, that is to be expected with a rookie QB, but to my untrained eye, it seems to be much more limited that what Lewis and even Tuel were working with. I'm not sure if the brain trust at one Bills drive are trying to "protect" his ego with a vanilla "safe" game plan, or that he is calling an audible at the line of scrimmage because he lacks self confidence. -
.... but .... in 2006 his recievers were ... drumroll please ... Troy Brown, Reche Caldwell, Brandon Childress, Doug Gabriel, Chad Jackson, Jabar Gaffney, Kelvin Knight, and Johnathan Smith, and they went 14 and 5 that season (and it wasn't on the strength of their running game). In the past Brady made his recievers great ... now he needs great recievers,Tom Terrific isn't that guy who can carry the team on his back anymore .... still a damn good QB, but definatly on the decline.

The thing I noticed about the game yesterday was the Bills actually changed up the play call on first down, they actually threw the ball a bit on first and ten. As a matter of fact the overall play calling seemed somehow different than when E. J. was behind center. Did anybody else feel this way???? I don't know if the coaching staff is trying to "protect" E. J. by running a vanillia offense while he is in there ... or E. J. is audibling out of of some plays ... or the O co-ordinator just tumbled to the fact that we have the talent to actually mix up the run and pass plays. Neither of the three options really make sense to me ... maybe the third one a little bit ... and maybe the change in offensive game plan is all in my head.

DING .... DING ..... DING .... Don't get me wrong, I love E.J. and hope he proves to be our next Jim Kelly. But the fact of the matter is he is a rookie and hasn't really proved anything yet. He has a metric butt ton of potential, but he still seems to be pretty darn tentative out there, he has yet to take a game and be consistent. I would really like to have seen him play more like that last drive against the Panthers, and less of the hopping around in the pocket spraying balls all over the field out of the reach of the receivers. I don't have a problem with bringing in the best available QB out there and letting them compete for the job.
