  1. There are also psychological issues with forcing kids to wear masks. What do you think the percentage of grade schoolers catching Covid and dying would be if they were not in school vs in school with masks vs in school without masks? Because if there are ANY more deaths for kids in school with masks then kids at home,, your stance is hypocritical. I feel like you are using science like most people use statistics here oldie.
  2. No shlt. And if this virus is as dangerous to them as you fear then until the vaccine is available to grade schoolers you should be shouting for remote learning from the rooftops, otherwise your putting kids in danger.
  3. By your silly logic YOU are putting kids in danger by trying to force them into schools when they aren't vaccinated. CHILD MURDERER!!! But seriously, you understand, right?
  4. Children are wards of their parents, not the state. But by your logic in this thread, why aren't you in DC picketing to keep kids out of school this fall altogether if it's so dangerous for them? Or mandating flu shots? Or canceling sports? Or going outside?
  5. I don't think you understand what a dictatorial is. A dictatorial will dictate that no one wears masks. Is the school and local governments just institutions? Wouldn't putting that decision in the hands of the people who send their kids to school be less dictatorial then making it governments call?
  6. Read my post above.
  7. Many Americans are seemingly willfully unaware of the "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" adage when it comes to political promises. Even GWB couldn't get it right.
  8. Never underestimate the vote-purchasing power of free money.
  9. What did Biden tell us about Afghanistan just a month ago? You don't have to be afraid to admit they both suck, Tibs. It's ok, I promise.
  10. I don't think we'd be well off regardless of who won, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't be just as concerned with Biden's mental health as you were with Trump's. Trump seemed to be a steady sort of sociopathic narcissist. Biden is a whole other animal. He just doesn't even seem to remember what he said a month ago.
  11. I am curious to hear @oldmanfan's take on this. He seemed pretty sure Biden was still ok last time we discussed.
  12. I know it's been used as political sport to make assumptions about the president's mental health, but I am getting increasingly concerned here. After watching that Stephanopolous interview, he is either losing his mental facility or flat out lying. I can live with the latter because politicians have been doing it all my life, but I am not comfortable with the former.

  14. Is this the kind of person you want to be? Own it.
  15. You are supposed to wear the loin cloth like underwear, not as a ball gag under your masks.
  16. 1989 to 2001 is 12 years by my math. Short time in who's book?
  17. I personally had Covid, it was pretty mild.. I survived and then got vaccinated. I don't need saving. I also am not going to die of suffocation from quadruple masking or of loneliness because I cut out friends and loved ones who have different politics than I do. Try to be more open minded.
  18. So you moved to a new town and don't know anyone with covid? You don't think that's a little disingenuous? Come on man. Most people I know who have had it are from Bergen County. And ironically they are primarily democrats, but I am not going to cut them out of my life because of their politics, that's just shltty....
  19. So how did the US let Russia out of their fight of 20 year? I generally agree with some of your points, no need to make stuff up to prove your point.
  20. You are either a hermit or a liar. I live in NY and know at least a dozen people who live in NJ and have had covid.
  21. I thought Russia left in 89?
  22. I agree with you on the original motives for entering the war. Living in NYC at the time even my furthest left friends were in support of the effort. People were scared and angry, and rightly so. But I think the shortsighted plan in Iraq is a large part of what has led to our overstay in Afghanistan. America desperately wants to look like the good guy/world police, and after the fiasco that became of Iraq, bailing out on Afghanistan wasn't a face that we wanted to show the world.
