You keep beating this drum, but isn't putting any kid back in school wirhout a vaccine playing with lives? Masks aren't going to end the pandemic nor have much effect on kids forced into crowded schools. Its the vaccines that will make the difference, people arguing about masks are all just playing politics.

I don't think there is a decent answer, in reality. Not one that isn't politically motivated. Student loan forgiveness is essentially saying that there are no consequences to choices that you make. Trade your cow for some magic beans? Don't worry, the government gives you a new cow. Magic beanstalk grows from the beans resulting in a golden goose? Don't bother climbing, the government will just take it anyways to pay for the cow they are giving you. Let someone else climb.

It's not wrong though. If you really want to get people vaccinated, I"m not sure why Biden isn't pulling out the "duty of every American citizen" card, other than the fact that he lacks credibility. Frankly, if I were a smart GOP senator who had dreams of the White House, I'd be all over the airwaves pushing that message now that Pfizer is FDA approved. Trump already said it's good to be vaccinated, It makes you seem like you care about voters, and it also makes you seem like you aren't afraid to put the country ahead of politics. Probably not a bad stump for Desantis, if only to put more shame on the AP, if that's possible at this point.

What do you think the percentage of grade schoolers catching Covid and dying would be if they were not in school vs in school with masks vs in school without masks? Children are wards of their parents, not the state. But by your logic in this thread, why aren't you in DC picketing to keep kids out of school this fall altogether if it's so dangerous for them? Or mandating flu shots? Or canceling sports? Or going outside?

I don't think you understand what a dictatorial is. A dictatorial will dictate that no one wears masks. Is the school and local governments just institutions? Wouldn't putting that decision in the hands of the people who send their kids to school be less dictatorial then making it governments call?
