  1. I remember thinking it should have been a fumble because the ball slipped out of his hand before his arm started moving forward. I'll have to look at the replay again to be sure, but I wasn't too upset with the end result.
  2. To be fair, Ngata's "hit" on Brady was a bit late. Brady had already slid down as Ngata began to fall on him. That said, Mankins should have also gotten an unsportsmanlike penalty for the head-butt and Brady should be villified in the media for acting like a whiny b1tch.
  3. Yeah, let's not get to giddy yet. Looks promising, though. The OP may want to fix the subject, too. It's not official yet.
  4. I think the fans' attitude may be a little different this time. We were all on a MAJOR high after thumping the Chiefs and coming from behind to beat the Raiders and the Patsies (both of which pretty damn thrilling). At least this year, we got humbled by the Jets, so we already know the Bills are human. It's the players' attitude that matters, though. They can't take the Browns for granted - they gotta go out and beat a team they're supposed to beat.
  5. This seems like such a simple solution. Why didn't they come to this 9 f**kin' years ago??!?!?!??!
  6. The point is...when does this take effect so we can watch said Thursday night games?
  7. Chan said it after Sunday's game...they got their @ss handed to them by the Jets and everyone kicked dirt on them. They handed the Chiefs' @ss to them and they're on a pedestal. Neither of which is true. How they play against the Browns will tell me a lot. This is a team they should beat.
  8. Exactly...while I can't stop laughing at how many times he said they suck, I felt for him. But that had to be the best talk show host rant...ever.
  9. One thing I have seen is how (for the most part) they let everything play out. I wish the real refs would do this on every play...this way, the plays that are questionable calls can be played out and are more easily reversible if they need to be. The problem with last night's game and the Eagles-Ravens game is how the players got a bit out of control on the field. If Goodell is watching, the players need some serious fines or suspensions.
  10. We were probably in the same section...Mitchell made that pick right in front of me. Mine.... #22 Fred Jackson The guy is a stereotypical blue-collar player that came from a no-name college and worked his way into the NFL. He's an all-business, no-BS runner that just hits the hole and runs downfield (unlike the juke & deke style that Marshawn Lynch showed us). Back in the day I wore Thurman's #34 for pretty much the same reason.
  11. Can't say Easterbrook is off by too much. This was pretty harsh on the entire team (offense and defense), especially because I agree with him that the Jets are seriously overrated. Sanchez is an average QB and best and the Bills made him look like Dan Marino. Perhaps the best thing to come out of this weekend was that the Jets fans will be on the ledge when they lose their next 3 in a row.
  12. Yikes...will you explode if the Bills make the playoffs?
  13. This. The Bills have talented players. Just because we have one good WR (Stevie) doesn't mean that the passing game is going to suffer. Jackson, Spiller, and now Graham can add things to the passing game. Spiller has lined up wide before and can essentially be a 3rd WR. Yeah, he's not a typical WR, but he can perform the duties well enough. The offense (IMO) should really be based around Freddie. Let the opposing defenses focus on him and have Spiller, Chandler, Jones, Stevie, and Graham work on winning their battles. Once that happens, the offense will open up more.
  14. It really depends on how you look at it. Yes, had Norwood made the kick, they would have won. Had the Bills defense held on that early 3rd quarter drive, the game would have been completely different. Had Bruce Smith stripped Hostetler of the ball in the end zone, it's likely a TD instead of a safety. Had Lofton broken away from the CB on the 1st quarter bomb, the Bills get a TD instead of a FG. You can think of 64 different things that - if they went the Bills way - could have changed the outcome of the game. Norwood's kick was just one of them.
  15. This just tells you what CBS thinks of the importance of the opponents...with the Dedes/Buerlein combo, the network thinks most people won't be watching those games. Once NE comes to town, then CBS pulls out their #2 broadcast team. I would have thought they'd consider the Jets a bigger draw and put Gumbel/Dierdorf on that one, Simms was good when he first started, but I think he's getting to be old hat. I don't think he's that bad (and I really think a lot of us don't like ANY analysts, for that matter), but there are better analysts out there. He's high profile because of his name and that's why he's on the #1 broadcast team for CBS.
  16. Well, as long as they're playing for New Orleans and as long as their QB is named Brees, they can be on my fantasy team anytime.
  17. Well done, Kick. I really want this guy to succeed and I hope he does so with this team.
  18. This. Considering *everyone*, I might even throw Van Miller into the mix. The voice of the Bills....
  19. Spot on. Yes, the schedule is difficult (we knew that before it was released), but there's nothing they can do about it except to make note of it to the league. If I'm Gailey, I find a way to motivate the guys to show the league we really can play with the big boys. Once they win a bunch of games, then they'll get the breaks in the schedule.
  20. This might have been the best move he ever made.
  21. Boy...Goodell is really dropping the hammer.
  22. I'm looking for when they have to play New England after their bye.
  23. This is really the easiest way to fix it...if it even needed fixing. I'm still on the side of sudden death OT (they play 60 minutes before this, remember), but if we're going to continue to get the whiners, then the only "fair" way to end a tie game is to just play another non-sudden death quarter.
  24. Just 100? If you've ever been to a Jets game where the QB struggles, you hear grumbles from every Jet fan around you. Imagine if Sanchez throws 3 picks in a loss in Week 1 (actually, you probably don't have to imagine)...how many of those fans will be calling for Tebow? On top of that, how many will actually think Tebow can help them win? Even worse, E$PN, NFLN, and every single football media outlet will ask the question "Should we see Tebow?". Then it will get overanalyzed to death and I'll end up boycotting ESPN. This could easily get beyond ugly real fast...and I'll sit back and enjoy the show.
  25. Better yet...kick it deep through the end zone. Or we might not have even needed to do that because a good wish would be for Flutie to have started that game.
