I'd have to say the internet attack is probably what we're looking at, combined with some threat to bomb something. Thus, CTU/FBI/whoever would be hampered in the investigation. Being an IT/Internet guy, I hope that's the case. I'll rip the accuracy to shreds while enjoying the entertainment.

Agreed on both counts. Season 1 was the best, by far. Season 3 probably is second in my book. I wondered if I liked season 1 the best because it was new, but after 2 & 3, it became obvious. Ira Gaines was cool (for a villian).

I think DRutka's original design here is great. I'll agree that there may be too much red in the sleeves, so maybe a red stripe instead of the entire sleeve. I'd also stick with the charging buffalo instead of going back to the standing one. Yes, it's old-school & everything, but I prefer the more intimidating logo these days. I really hope someone at OBD considers this. The blue home jerseys are nice, but the current road jerseys are AWFUL. Makes them look like a USFL team. If they just took the dark blue off of the shoulders, I'd be ok with it. One style I like is Denver - it's pretty simple, yet has a taste of flash with the orange swoosh-type stripe up the front on both sides (dark blue on the white road jerseys).

I think this has to do with a few things.... 1. Irvin is probably more well-known among the fans and voters who remember what happened recently, which is why he got his votes. It's a disgrace, but nobody remembers what Ralph Wilson did in the early days of the AFL. 2. Yes - Ralph probably told someone off. I wonder if it has anything to do with the horrible officiating in the "just give it to him" game against the Pats in 1998. Ralph and JB were justifiably critical of the officiating and Paul Tagliabue told them to pipe down. Ralph responded with something to the effect of "I was forming the AFL when you were in diapers!" to Tagliabue... 3. Yes - he won't get more consideration until the Bills win a Superbowl.

I'd have to disagree with you on this one. Moulds needs to stay. I have no idea why he was dropping everything, but we can't go into camp with Evans and Josh Reed as 1-2. The Moulds and Evans tandem actually scares people now. Fletcher is the QB of the defense. This isn't a comparison, but he's to the Bills what Mike Singletary was to the Bears. He knows the defense as well as Jerry Gray does. He's part of the unit that can't be replaced right now. Agreed. April was a Godsend. Note how many times Clements did not get a chance to return a punt on Sunday. That's like walking Barry Bonds with the bases empty and 2 outs. Shows a ton of respect...

to all those who thought we could win a SB
BuffaloWings replied to JP-era's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're kidding, right? Have you seen the Colts or Chiefs bring home the Lombardi trophy lately? Scoring more points would help, but it's not the answer. This team *can* score with defense and special teams, so the offense just need to be able to manage the clock and run the ball. -

BuffaloWings replied to JP-era's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fine, but do we blame Drew for the losses vs Jax, at NYJ, and vs Pit? All three of these games, the Bills had a lead late in the game. Jax & NYJ, the Bills lost the game on the final drive where the defense didn't hold them. Should they hold, their record (presuming everything else is the same) is 12-4 and they're playing at San Diego on Saturday. Please....enough of this crap. -
It's not all Drew I'll give Bob Dicesare his props on this. Yes, Drew is not the perfect QB. But if Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson can win Superbowls....

Please can we screw the Patriots???

I'll take any one of these guys, but I bet most of them would re-sign with their current teams. I'm tellin' ya...Mike Nugent. -
"Bills Can't Take Next Step With Bledsoe "
BuffaloWings replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't heed much to this....Jerry Sullivan isn't exactly going out on a limb here. The most critical of writers I've ever seen, he's not taking anything that resembles a bold stance. I never had much respect for this guy. He must be from Miami or something, since I've never seen a hometown writer criticize the Bills so much. I'm not saying that I'm all for benching Drew, but when this has been the talk of the town for about 14 months.... C'mon Jerry - write about something worthwhile. -
My Thoughts in random order, and I will personally
BuffaloWings replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't agree more, Bill. I've always liked Cowher as a coach and respect what he's done. I'm glad for Pittsburgh's sake that they didn't dump him after 6-10 last year. He's always shown class and tact where he needs to. If there's one coach in this league that deserves a ring, it's him. I was a Travis lover in September, but after watching Willis play, Travis doesn't hold a candle to him at all. I think Donahoe should be able to get a 3rd rounder for Travis, but he should do what he can. There will be plenty of good RBs available in the draft this year and next. I think it might be a bit too early to say that, but I'm happy Donahoe took the gamble. Willis may have the arrogance, but he backs it up on the field. I'll take a guy who can fake a DB out of his shorts, then stiff-arm a LB any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Willis is the real deal. He's got the swagger this team didn't have since Thurman, plus he's got the classy veteran teammates to back him up. I still wear my jacket proudly, despite the sh-t I get from my Cowboy-loving boss. -
An open competition was my original thinking, too. But the more I think about it, the more that would be a slap in Drew's face and the wrong thing to do. Mularkey didn't earn the respect of his players by doing what the fans wanted. He's smart enough to not do something stupid to lose his players. In addition, MM is a classy individual that will treat another classy individual (Drew) with dignity. Besides, JP isn't quite ready yet. He's a great talent, but I still think he needs more time. The broken leg set him back too far. Let's hope something like that doesn't happen again in August. I agree with CD...I think scenarios 2 & 3 would be the only chances that Losman gets the job.

Bills need to close the book on DB "Era"
BuffaloWings replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What we also need to keep in mind is that Shane Matthews will probably be retiring after this year, so that would make 2 QBs we'd need. Point is, don't "get rid of" Bledsoe now. He has enough class so that he'd eventually accept a backup role, should Mularkey give the job to JP. Going into camp in July, I say to put the job up for grabs. If Bledsoe wins it, so be it. At this point, I think Mularkey knows that Drew is declining, so maybe some extra competition thrown his way would help. I doubt JP could take the job right now, but how many of us thought Roethlisberger would be the starting QB of a 15-1 team? I think it's probably the best way to work it out right now. Just because the backup QB is the most popular position on the team, doesn't mean it's the right one to utilize. -
So - that sucked. And the Sabres aren't here
BuffaloWings replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't agree more. Can anyone say "David Nugent"? That missed FG was unacceptable - and I knew we were doomed at that point. The Jets have been backing into the playoffs since week 6. They rode the 5-0 start and were really lucky to make it. The way they're playing right now, I'd be real surprised to see them make a game of it against San Diego. Besides, I see too much Jets every week. I'm with you, stevestojan. -
What is it about fans of Boston teams? Why is it that they have to scream about how bad the other team is? They have every right to be a$$es while talking up their own team, but don't come into our house with crap like that. Utterly classless.

Official Jake the Snake curse page
BuffaloWings replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a decent QB, but very inconsistent. His biggest problem, though, is his name is not John Elway. -
I can see a few or maybe the majority of those guys picking the Jets...but ALL of them???? Please....it's not that obvious the Jets will win.

Completely hypothetical.... Wonder what hotel
BuffaloWings replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not the Steelers I'm worried about. Take a trip to St Louis and find out where the Jets are staying.... -
Hey....Erik Flowers will be available. Seriously, the OL would probably be my priority, but if we can add a pass-rushing DE like Abraham that would actually scare people, imagine how that would open up the pass rush even more.

Prisco callin Bills fans wagon jumpers!!!
BuffaloWings replied to Hawk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just slammed him, too. I told him if he ranks Denver ahead of Buffalo just because Denver is more likely to make the playoffs, then why doesn't he rank Minnesota ahead of them, too? Flawed reasoning...that's all it is. The power rankings should indicate who is the better team *right now*. The standings say who goes to the playoffs. -
What will make this season a success?
BuffaloWings replied to pm73's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we can call this season a success, regardless of what happens. My expectations at the beginning were about an 8-8 team, maybe 7-9. I figured even with the veterans on this team, they would take a while to get comfortable with Mularkey and the whole regime. Luckily, they got comfortable a lot quicker than I thought. Having said that, I want them to make the playoffs now. There are very few teams these days that can sustain successful seasons (read: playoffs or better) for several years at a time. Who knows what will happen if the Bills get in? Who also knows what happens if they don't? This may be their best shot for the next few years. Personally, I doubt that, but you never know.... -
Let's not get carried away....the Jets and Broncos both have VERY good chances of winning. I think the Bills' best chance is for the Rams to win, since I really don't think Indy will come out with guns blazing (just like Pittsburgh).
-
I'll concur with that. My favorite of those is the Season's Best. A nice pale ale. It rivals the Sam Adams Winter Lager in my book.
-
Theismann did the same thing. In the "Fact or Fiction" section of espn.com, he said the Bills would make it and go on to win a game. He then went on to predict the Jets AND Broncos to win on Sunday. I can't stand him....
-
The Indy fans may be hoping they don't play the Bills in the wild card round, but I really doubt Dungy, Manning & Co. are "hoping" for a certain team. They're a good enough team that they feel they can beat whoever comes into the dome. Having said that, I think what Peyton said the other night about learning their lesson from the 1999 game in Buffalo (about mailing it in) was partly for show. He knows - just as the coaches do - that they don't want to risk anything by actually playing.
