The problem with Nate saying that is just that - he said it publicly. I have no problem if the guy quietly thinks he's the best corner in the NFL - just don't start telling the world you are. That's when you need to get smacked around - just like Nate did last week and Willis has since his proclamation as the best RB in the NFL. Does Nate use Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, also?

POLL: If you could pick first overall....
BuffaloWings replied to BravinSeattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd probably trade down, too. The Bills have good talent on offense at the skilled positions...they need a line. -
Think Pat Williams is regretting signing with the Vikings now? Sure would be nice to have him around....

With the Raiders loss, there was just no chance. With the Patriots loss, they - dare I say - dominated most of the game and really didn't look like they were going to lose. About 3 minutes of bad play and a horrible call on Moulds' "interference" did them in. Not to mention, I hate the Patriots with a white-hot passion.

Steve Czaban of Fox Sports Radio:

Well, for what it's worth....the "NE" link went to the Bills broadcast. Looks like they just had them swapped. -
In case you want to drop espn a note
BuffaloWings replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I didn't even give ESPN much of a chance. I watched a bit of the opening and when it was all Tedy, all the time, I turned on Murph and Alex. At least they acknowledged good plays by BOTH teams. I hate to say it, though....the Bills won't get any respect from any media until they start winning again. -
In fact, the NFL usually schedules a Thursday night game for this week but they didn't this year. I wonder if the teams nixed that idea....like the NFL would listen to their own teams over the TV networks.

Well, it's only 1 game..... I think they had the right game plan coming out on the first drive. I'll bet Houston expected a lot of running plays to keep JP from making mistakes, but he was burning them for most of the first quarter. Nice job.

McGahee: 100 yards; Losman, no interceptions;
BuffaloWings replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Murph and AVP harped on this the entire first half. Willis wasn't getting much in the first half, but the line wore down the Texans DL and Willis ran downhill. Good, strong outing by the line today. No real bad penalties, except for a holding in the red zone and some false starts that didn't really hurt them. Red zone offense will need more work. -
Corey Simon a free agent now
BuffaloWings replied to billsburgh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry if I missed the post on this... Has anyone heard where Corey Simon has generated any interest? I think he'd be worth looking into. -
Quite Frankly, Steven A. Smith is not popular
BuffaloWings replied to SilverNRed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stephan A. Smith is better off as an analyst like they were using him - not a talk show host. He's a terrible interviewer. -
This continues to be a problem with ESPN. Yes, the majority of New York sports is NYC and it's the biggest market in this cosmos. But they have to start understanding that there is life in the northern and western parts of the state ("northern" meaning anything north of Albany and "western" meaning anything west of Poughkeepsie). It really burned me when Kelly, Thomas, and Reed were not included in the Sportscenter poll question about the best triplet of the Super Bowl era. The question about the best place to watch a game really ticked me off, too (Giants Stadium, but no Ralph). I think it's not worth the fight, but it still irks me. Writing to ESPN doesn't help, either.

OK - so now that the NHL is back and everybody is civil with each other again, are we going to see the Sabres on TV? I live in Albany, so I'll get my share of the Rangers, Islanders, and Devils, but I'm a Western NY native - I want the Sabres. I thought I heard that MSG would pick them up, but that was back in January. Any one hear of anything?

Please....he seemed ok with the contract a year ago when he whined about being traded to Baltimore and not Philly. Once he hired that pr*ck Drew Rosenhaus, I knew this was coming. I, too, hope the Eagles stick to their guns and do nothing. Don't negotiate with him AND don't trade him. Doing either is exactly what he wants. I laughed when he said he's "doing this for his family". Maybe he's been hanging around Latrell Sprewell too much.

For me, it's Steve Tasker - hands down. He played with the heart of a lion and never complained about it. He showed how good a receiver he was when they needed him. I love Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, and Reich, but Tasker was the guy I always enjoyed watching.

Question for "out of town" fans.....
BuffaloWings replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a native WNYer and my college friends are mostly from the Buffalo and Rochester areas, so we get together for one game a year - usually in September or October. It's always a treat...tailgating at the Ralph, watching the Bills, listening to WGR and 97 Rock, and venturing to The Anchor Bar on Saturday afternoon. A nice weekend. -
All I'd say is good luck getting them. Season ticket holders will gobble up almost all of them before group sales open up. I was on the phone for 5 hours a year ago getting these tickets and ended up with my 4th choice for a game.

It doesn't really look like she's helping herself in the second round, either. http://www.lpga.com/player_scorecard.aspx?tid=3407&pid=53209 I didn't particularly care for her on the show (I actually rooted for Pam to win the final match), since she's a little too "confident" for a golfer. At least she has a shot at the big time and I'd root for her in that case.

JP Losman story coming up on ESPN
BuffaloWings replied to Greybeard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not yet....they're talking Yankees, NBA, and something else, so probably not soon. The show is 90 minutes tonight. -
I'm not sure "sad" is the word. "Pathetic", maybe... You might be right, though. I guess it would be more impressive to get to camp, keep in shape, and be ready to play just in case than it would be detrimental to sit and pout.

Reasons to be optimistic about the season
BuffaloWings replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not worried about his attitude so much as him getting hurt. He's probably the biggest reason the Bills were in any sort of playoff contention a year ago, so if he's lost, I'm worried. Besides, he worked his a$$ off to get back into shape just to play, so he better not sit back and relax now that he's where he wanted to be. -
Reasons to be optimistic about the season

I think the RB spot is the most to be concerned with. If Donahoe does make a deal for Henry without signing someone like Anthony Thomas and Willis gets hurt, the Bills are in big trouble. McGahee's attitude and shoulder chip is the biggest part of his game. I don't see Shaud Williams being anything close to McGahee as far as the running goes. Let's hope Willis' knee is durable enough....and let's especially hope that Drew Rosenhaus doesn't fill his head with thoughts of money and South Beach.... We need to be patient with JP. He's going to make some boneheaded plays that might lose a game or two, but at the same time, he can make plays that get the Bills in a position to win a game. But I agree...at the very least, he'll make defensive coordinators around the league have to play the Bills differently, which is to Buffalo's advantage. I think only Mularkey, Clements, and Wyche know what they really have with him. -
TD won't do that. If he thought so much of Travis to try and get a better offer from Arizona, Philly, or Tampa, there's no way he'll cut him. He has a year to make a deal. I'll bet he tried "overplaying his hand" before the draft figuring that if he couldn't get a deal, he'll wait for a starter to get injured during camp or during the regular season. Even if that doesn't happen, Travis would probably have to show up and play to make himself more attractive to other teams. I can't imagine a potential employer thinking very high of someone who whines and pouts publicly. Either way, the Bills get the best of the situation - another draft pick in 2006 or a solid backup RB. A lot of "ifs" in this scenario, but I bet that's what TD is thinking.
-
Interesting, yes. It's Donahoe's call if it happens, but I can't see Henry liking that one. Chris Brown is still the man there, despite his injury potential. If it happens, I'm glad. I just don't want to see Henry on this team if he's going to complain so much about not starting.
-
If that was the case, why didn't they go with Adam Terry or Justin Miller? I figured they would at least go OL with the first pick, but maybe Donahoe still has something in the works with Henry for another pick. I'm scratching my head so far....
