Alan Branch....I doubt he'd fall to #12, but I really hope Marv doesn't pass on him if he does.

NFL Wildcard Weekend Predictions
BuffaloWings replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After my (lack of) success in picking games this year, I've come to one conclusion....there is no such thing as a lock. My picks, regardless... Colts vs Chiefs - Despite what Herm Edwards says, the Chiefs backed into the playoffs. They were almost as inconsistent as the Jaguars and Jets, but they won when they needed to - and got the help they needed. Their best weapon is the running game against Indy's D, but it's not like they'll run it every single play - which is what they'll have to do to win. Indy should pull this one out by out-scoring KC. Pick: Colts, 41-24 Seahawks vs Cowboys - Dallas isn't that bad of a team, but there are just way too many distractions right now for them to win. TO was a huge mistake and defenses have figured out Tony Romo. The wild card here is if Dallas defends Shaun Alexander, then the game is up for grabs. But....I don't think that'll happen. Seattle has enough of a passing game to counteract that and should pull out the win - especially at home. This could easily be a turnover-fest, but the home team should have the advantage. Pick: Seahawks, 23-13 Patriots vs Jets - I really don't want to pick this one, since I don't care for either team. But I have a feeling that Belichick intentionally didn't show all of his cards in the loss to the Jets in Foxboro. He'll pull out some weird formations on offense and different defensive fronts and Chad Pennington will have a miserable day. The Pats will make Pennington beat them and I don't see him being up to the task. Pick: Patriots, 27-10 Eagles vs Giants - I see no reason to believe the Giants can come together on the road and put together a full 60 minutes. The Eagles are playing well and they seem to have rediscovered Brian Westbrook. My only fear is that Jeff Garcia will turn the ball over too much, but even if he does, I don't see the Giants scoring much off of those. They're in even more disarray than Dallas is and this will likely be Tom Coughlin's last game. Pick: Eagles, 27-17 -
we should start a petition

Really? I can't imagine who.... ....oh, you're one of them. In all seriousness, I don't mind the "home" blue jerseys. They're not too bad and they've grown on me, also. As far as the white ones go...... The scheme is horrible with the blue top covering the name. They really do look like a combo CFL/USFL team (no offense to any Canadian fans here) and they have to go. If there's a color scheme they should look at, look at the ones the Broncos have. Somewhat simple - dark blue with an orange swoosh up the sides and white with a dark blue swoosh on either side. Nevertheless, the Bills have to ask permission of the NFL to do this. If they ask now, they probably won't be able to get them until the 2008 season. If Marv & DJ were smart, they did this back in April or May and we'd see something this year. From what I understand, you have to get permission a year in advance. -
Paul Posluszny, LB Penn State
BuffaloWings replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Greatest college football game I remember watching. I think Posluszny would be perfect for Buffalo....it's hard to go very wrong with a Penn St. linebacker. -
Jarrett's good (damn good, really), but he is a pretty big talker. The taunting on the 62-yard TD wasn't necessary and very TO-like, but he'd be a great gamer for the NFL. Despite what Keyshawn says, I think Jarrett's ready.

Irony, Rodney Harrison, and the NE Patriots
BuffaloWings replied to Golden Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What a pr*ck. Rodney Harrison has to be the biggest baby in the league. -
Denver Broncos DB Darrent Williams shot and killed.
BuffaloWings replied to Spanky46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What disturbs me about all of this is that I wonder if a few people were just a bit too upset that the Broncos didn't make the playoffs. If the altercation with Walker is true, combine that with the shooting (presuming the shooter knew who they were shooting at) and it's possible. Not saying at all that is the reason, but we've all seen more bizarre things in this loony world. -

I certainly wish I could be paid millions just to leave my job. -

Yep...my bad. I mis-read the ESPN article. -
Where are the anti-Losman posts after a bad game???
BuffaloWings replied to AnthonyF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The anti-Losman posters probably would be stewing about this if it was October, but there's enough proof that he's getting better. The season's done, so it doesn't matter, anyway. They'll all resurface in April...."Why don't we draft a QB???" -
2007 Home Sked Is A Marketing Dream
BuffaloWings replied to eiregi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't be surprised if the Dallas game is during the second half of the season, maybe December. That will likely sell out regardless of the time of year. -
First Coach fired : Dennis Green
BuffaloWings replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he takes Alabama's offer....40 million for 4 years??!?!?!? Green's fate was decided after the collapse against the Bears, but the new coach has some stuff to work with. -
This is about the only hope I have of Nate sticking around. The one guy I'd LOVE to see is Alan Branch, but if Marv is going for a DT...get someone in the draft. They won't get a big name in free agency. Maybe also negotiate a trade to get rid of Willis and draft Irons...whaddaya think of THAT, Drew??

Who Wins the Super Bowl....
BuffaloWings replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Understandable thinking, but I disagree. The Pats have been beatable all year - yes, they've improved since the beginning of the season, but now that they're playing better teams, I think they're vulnerable. Just watch the tape of the game in Miami. My pick (crazy as it is) is for Indy and Chicago. I just have a gut feeling that Manning will do it this year and if Lovie Smith is as smart as everyone says, he'll pull a Wade and start Griese. The Bears had a bad night last night, but they'll come back from recent playoff exits. -
This is the broader issue, imo. A Jaguar DL taps Tom Brady and gets a roughing call - yeah, it was 5 seconds after the ball had been thrown, but a love tap does not constitute a roughing the passer. The problem is that the refs have been brainwashed to protect the QB at all costs - that had to be pushed by the owners to the league, so the QBs can keep playing, so the fans come to see said QBs, so the games are filled to capacity, so the league pockets more money. Sounds simple to me.

A Few Thought About The Game And The Bills
BuffaloWings replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was on Losman's bandwagon at the beginning, then off of it after Week 7. Since then, he's showing me a little more each week that he CAN play. I'm chalking up yesterday to inexperience and being pressured by a knock-your-socks-off defense. JP had little chance yesterday and I never expected them to play well - especially when Baltimore had something to play for. This was a throw-away-the-tape game....that's all. -
Help pick a team to root for in the playoffs....
BuffaloWings replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feared I'd get the Jets or Pats, based on my cold-weather favorite team. At least I got the Colts, instead. I'll probably root for them, since they haven't won anything yet, I don't want Peyton Manning to be this generation's Dan Marino (I'd prefer Marino to be in a class by himself), and Tony Dungy is just a class guy. Basically, I'd like anyone to win other than the Pats, Jets, or Cowboys. -
Pro Bowler Tony Romo appears to have lost "IT"
BuffaloWings replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rivers....maybe. Romo....definitely not. Hell, even America's Dreamboat Tom Brady should be more of a Pro Bowler than Romo. -
Pro Bowler Tony Romo appears to have lost "IT"
BuffaloWings replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And now he just threw a bad INT...trying to respond from a Detroit FG. Other teams have figured out what he's doing (which was just being more mobile than Bledsoe, IMO) and he's lost a bit of confidence. That's all that's really happening right now. -
What I took out of the response was the CBS officials that make the programming decisions just happen to be in NYC (which is likely part of the problem), not that the NYC affiliates are making decisions for Albany. Either way, it sucks big time. I'm not sure if I'll switch to a dish because of this, but it's making me lean an awful lot more towards it. Believe me....TW wouldn't have to ask me why I'd switch...I'd tell them right up front.
-
I'm afraid to ask sometimes.

True...but cable outlets provide DVRs, also - I have one myself. I'm not sure how that helps us being able to watch the Bills or how it would make the satellite better, though....

Dissed again. SI 34 breakout players of 2006
BuffaloWings replied to Phil Indablanc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And the only way the Bills would get as much air time on E$PN as the Cowboys do would (maybe) be if they won their first 10 games in 2007. Look at the Sabres - arguably the best team in the NHL this year and the only props they get are from Barry Melrose when he visits Sportscenter once a week. Buffalo is just too small of a market for ESPN or SI or anyone else to pay attention to. -
Yikes....take it easy, pal. Something tells me you're not married..... It's less of a hassle (to me) because the cable is easy to set up. I admit I don't know much having a dish, but I can't imagine the setup and configuration is easier than a dish. Plus, I'm not necessarily thrilled about possibly losing a signal if the weather is bad enough.

So far, this is the closest thing I've found for any feedback to CBS: CBS Sportsline Feedback I hate corporations who only care about money.
