  1. Arm strength has very little to do with the modern QB. The ability to read coverages and release the ball quickly are what are more important. To the best of my knowledge, no one has found a way to measure that at the combine.
  2. No. No one from the Eagles has said a thing...John Clayton has.
  3. PHILLY IS NOT GOING TO OFFER 2 FIRST ROUNDS PICKS. There is a good reason they make the playoffs regularly.
  4. That's him. He occasionally shows up on local TV around here. The face of Woody Page, the body of Tony Kornheiser, and the verbal ability of Bill Plastcke
  5. Even my bloodshot eye memory of that 8:30 econ class is that in the free market something is worth ONLY what someone is willing to pay for it.
  6. Still the HQ of the Patriarca mob family, so it's got that going for it.
  7. Again: Who (not a poster on this board) has stated that the Eagles would even remotely consider giving up 2 1st rounders??? I keep telling people that Adrianna Lima wants to bang me, but no one is buying it.
  8. If you're looking for a seedy strip club, crack or to get your pickle polished by either sex....Providence may be for you.
  9. I used to work in Providence, and despite the real estate development it's still a sh-- hole. Most corrupt city government in the northeast.
  10. Jim Donaldson is a 2 bit columnist at a failing paper. Why give him a second thought?
  11. Where did this 2 1st rounders come from? It seems like you people just pulled this out of thin air. Just because they have 2 don't mean they will give up 2.
  12. I disagree with this completly. Even in his "down" 2007 season, he had 5 forced fumbles which are almost by definition game changing plays. He's got 68 sacks in 8 seasons, which to me indicates he is disruptive enough to force teams to gameplan against him, opening opportunities for other players.
  13. You mean the contract extension he signed in August 2007? His 2007-08 production was down in terms of sacks, but was otherwise solid (tied his career high in passes defended and set a high in forced fumbles).
  14. WHAT???? The guy never missed a start until 2008. Not ever. He got injured, and now he's got a lot to prove?
  15. If this goes horribly awry with TO in town, I mean biblical, boils, bats. the slaying of the 1st born...... the whole Kaballah road show......basically a 10 month deal; No loss. All that said. can someone get excited?? The Bills got better, and they are not done. What you think are odds are to get June, Kdieihho (?). Any other free agents available that could be a rotational with a versatile draftee like Everette Brown or Maybin??
  16. I am, from pure smugness, pointing out I raised this issue to general ridicule in another thread weeks ago. The blind squirrel has gotten it's nut!!!!
  17. McKelvin got 5 years, just under 20 million. Generally, the "slotted salaries" rise about 15% a year......figure roughly 4.6 mill this time around.
  18. I love that now the media has turned this......like no one in his life ever thought Garcia might be gay. He's the QB version of Stuart Smalley. He'll never have a bigger upset than marrying that girl from Playboy.
  19. Other than being horribly written, remarkably negative, and his use of the term "we" six times.....how is it not that bad?
  20. The NBA, or the NFL or any league (well, not the WNBA which has never made a dime) is about dollars. 12th might sound good, but no city in America (except maybe NYC) was more financially viable over that time than Seattle and the owners couldn't get attendance up, and were in an arena with no PSLs and very few luxury boxes.
  21. Sonics Go and look at their history, even in the George Karl years when they were in the playoffs every season (going to the Finals fer crissakes) they never drew better than 12th in the league. Combine that, and an old ratty stadium.....Seattle (as a community) could not have more to drive them outta town. Say this for the Bills, they bang that place out (except for the game around Xmas week...that seems to be down to the wire every year).
  22. OK, this is idiotic. The Sonics attendance was 21st of 30 in 2004-5, when they won their division and went to the conference finals link. The next season it dropped to 23rd. Asses in the seats, it's what it's all about.
  23. Actually, they did because their attendance had been way down for years and years and repeated efforts to get a new arena were dismantled. Oklahoma City is never going to work out in the long run, but the Sonics did all they could to stay in Seattle. Just because people started to care at the last minute, doesn't undo the decade before that.
