The broken hand has kind of been a silver lining - it seems like it has forced him to turn down the superhero dial and be more methodical (and safe) in what he does - he's being super efficient playing within the system. No doubt when he's healed some of the superman runs will return, but I think there's going to be real long term dividends from this stretch where's he's been forced to not do that and move the chains other ways. Oh by the way - HE HAS A FREAKING BROKEN HAND. At one point I think Orlovsky said something like "I think the hand is OK" - wtf? Like he's wearing a big oven mitt on his hand cause he thinks it looks cool. It's been so glossed over - if Mahomes was playing with a freaking broken hand they'd dedicate a camera to it and show it in it's own window throughout the entire broadcast (and invent and breathlessly track a new stat "hand contacts") and talk endlessly about his toughness and courage.

People forget that wins and rings are a team stat not a QB stat. The entire media just defaults to the lazy take oh Patrick is number one of course, then let's debate about the rest - without actually considering what plays he actually is or is not making. If Josh actually were to change the default narrative of who is the best QB it would be one of his most impressive accomplishments.

I prefer to watch at home with my family - now my wife and son who is still in town and comes over. All the years I used to schlep to restaurants and bars with satellite before the Sunday Ticket - including literally almost every Sunday dragging my kids since they were babies - I'm done with that. The one caveat is if things start going bad or getting really intense, and I start screaming and cursing too much, I'm self aware enough now when I start getting the side-eye from my wife and I voluntarily leave the room and go upstairs and watch in solitude from my bedroom (also allows me to mute the sound if desired and potentially change the mojo and alter the game outcome :p). Just about every big close game in the last 5 yrs that the Bills lost, I've watched the end of the game alone in my room. That sounds pretty sad now that I'm actually typing it out 😛

It's exactly the same as the Cheater 'dynasty'. An absolutey game-changing bogus long PI call goes the Pats way to completely alter the game in their favor - then some meaningless 5 yd defensive holding penalty is called against them the next series to "even it out".
