If I had a concern about this game it might be weakened legs for Josh after getting into LA yesterday- but resulting High Positive Josh should more than offset that -
This randomly brings to mind a guy I lived with out of college - I rented a room in his house when I started my first job. He fancied himself a 'bodybuilder' and was always trying to 'bulk up' (this was long ago before nutritional supplements were so popular). Every morning he would make his lunch - he would take a full loaf of bread - put luncheon meat between every other slice - and carry the loaf of sandwiches and a gallon of milk to work and just eat sandwiches out of it during the day. He did this every day. He was a weird dude

Belichick interviewed for the U of North Carolina head coaching job
stevewin replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
This. PR stunt and nothing more. Give UNC some PR in their HC search - gives the desperate fat cheating POS ex-coach some headlines in his desperate search for NFL coaching job (where no one is interested in him). Next he'll be guest hosting Wheel of Fortune in his desperate attempt to get his fat mumbling face out there even more to try to be relevant. Just go away you cheating washed-up douchebag. -
Well at least people don't have to be all worried about playing a 'desperate' Lions team after a loss

Quarterbacks and "fake slide" controvery
stevewin replied to I'm Spartacus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no probem with erring on the side of over-protecting QBs - the more protected starting QBs are and the less crappy backup QBs I have to see see, the better the product is (and selfishly want Josh protected to maximum possible) I think the rules are fine today - and think the whole "it's not fair to the defense" when a QB is ambling in the open field and going to slide because the D "has to make a 1/2 second decision" is total BS. In the case of Lawrence, Al-Shaair had penty of time to see that Lawrence was going down. Even if you've left your feet, just don't forearm shiver the guy in the face. When a QB is going down the D just can't try to lay a hit on them. In the case of Mahomes on the sideline - just get your arms around him - don't try to make a big hit (or be paralyzed bc you're afraid a big hit will draw a penalty) -
Quarterbacks and "fake slide" controvery

Funny there have been other times on ESPN shows this week since the Lawrence injury where they've showed Josh's run in the context of fake sliding - sometimes rolling it in a loop in conjunction with Pickett's classic fake slide in college - and it also pissed me off, the Josh play is not close to a fake slide - it's just a juke -

Antonio Brown says a little girl thrown down stairs at Bills??
stevewin replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Then after they move to the new stadium, and the current stadium is demolished - leave a Pit on the site of the old stadium, complete with a stairway, to push the kid into the Pit for the "Kid Down The Stairs" contest (not sure if giving them hallucinogens and dunking them in a porta-potty first would be going too far...) -

IMO - at this point I think it should be obvious to everyone that the mother's initial report of her child being "pushed down the stairs" is incontrovertibly untrue. The father came out with another version - being bumped - that is closer to the realm of possibility - though the level of intent/rudeness/evil of the perpetrator is still up for debate. It sucks that there was likely some drunk a-hole that might have acted improperly and negatively impacted this family's experience, but the inflammatory (and untrue) "pushed down the stairs" that the mother initially posted on social media is also improper behavior by her. It was irresponsible to misrepresent the incident using such violent imagery in a public forum. Why aren't any of the 'journalists' reporting on this not asking her why her "pushed down the stairs" story does not match what her husband says - and ask her if she wants to amend her initial account. That might help to put the incident in more perspective and quell some of the the extreme negative reaction towards the entire fanbase that has come from it
