I opened one of the gifts my son got for me and it was a candle. I'm like "Thanks(?)" - then he said to open the box and read the fragrance: Candle gift

Interesting there is a 72hr window to accept tickets after notification on 6/26. Presumably tickets that don't get claimed would get thrown back into pool, subject to another lottery draw? (rinse and repeat?) There is no mention of how that follow-on process would work - assuming there is one

Post your best Father/Son or Daughter sports moments
stevewin replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills related - after my brother and I left for college and the Buffalo area, we've gone back every year since late 80's to take my dad to a game around his bday the beginning of October. Once our sons were 6-7 yrs old we started taking them also - been 3 generations for 20 yrs now. My Dad's 90 now and we all look forward to it every year (even after living through some of the worst games in Bills history - including the 6-3 Cleveland game) For the proud Dad brag - My kids played a bunch of sports growing up. For my son one of the coolest memories I have was from a little league all-star game - he was playing shortstop and it was the bottom of the 9th and there were men on base with two outs. Batter hits a line drive that went off the 2nd baseman's glove and pops up in the air, and out of nowhere my son runs full sprint and dives flat out and catches it to end the game. It was one of the best plays I've ever seen. Kids go nuts and carry him off the field. For my daughter - she played three sports in HS at a high level that all require different skills with a ball (volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse) - was a conference all-star in basketball and lacrosse, and earned 10 varsity letters altogether. This is in an area where almost all kids specialize in one sport from an early age, at a HS that routinely was one of the best sports programs in the state, winning multiple state championships every year in different sports - where it was difficult in most cases to even make a team. It was such a unique thing around here to be a high caliber 3 sport athlete the Raleigh paper did a feature article on her (she was also an honor student). I played 3 sports in HS and always thought it was very cool she did that - especially given how much more rare and difficult it was for her vs my experience. -
Who is on your All-Time Buffalo Bills Mt. SHUSHmore?
stevewin replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Greggo Williams - what an arrogant doosh, almost made me hate loving the Bills Coy Wire - this is kind of out of left field but I grew an intense hatred of Wire, not just because he was so awful week after week, but also because there were so many fans at the time who inexplicably thought he was so great. But he could jump out of a pool Billy Buffalo - Billy Buffalo must die Train Horn - enough said (edi: "Shush!, literally") -
Exactly - I was going to respond that the "lean on Breece" post implied that there was actually a legitimate OC in place - if Hacket asked Rodgers to hand off to the RB all game Rodgers would just ignore him - or give him the middle Goldfinger

Rondell Bothroyd says hello

Waiting for the Rondell Bothroyd hype video to drop
-
Once again my "uniform blindness" hits - they look like white uniforms to me - the 'sweetness' is lost on me
-
If he beats the Bills after Rodgers goes down you can go paint a penis on his lawn
-
I found this fascinating. Also - a Rondell Bothroyd sighting! He exists!
-
I'm just wondering if he's going to buy a house

This reminds me of when my wife broke the news to me of Stevie Ray Vaughn's death (one of my all time favorites) - on our wedding anniversary no less - and swear to god one of the first thoughts that popped into my head was "Why couldn't it have been Motley Crue?"

I graduated from Lancaster the same year the Majik man graduated from Depew. He was a really good athlete in HS, I played basketball against him, but once he went to college he went next level. I remember playing pickup basketball with him at the Boys club one break when we were in college - wasn't often guys were throwing down jams at will at the Lancaster Boys Club back in the day 😛

Guess I should have qualified it silliest recent narratives related to draft 😛
-
Yes - the silliest thing on this board is the narrative that McDermott runs the draft. Well - the 2nd silliest thing - the first silliest being that we should have drafted a player we didn't want in the 1st round so that the Chiefs wouldn't get him

Also no one seems to talk about how Miami's track team folded at the end of the year and in bad weather. The additions to the roster were also made with late season and playoff time in mind - big physical receivers, and multiple options coming from everywhere so that a single weapon or two can't just be easily neutralized (more easily in bad weather)
-
I just went through buying tickets for 1st 2 rounds of hockey playoffs. The other crazy thing is the resale fees (both selling and buying) is waaaay higher than the team issued tickets. Then the team slowly releases very small amounts of face value tickets undercutting the resale - but the price constantly fluctuates with 'demand pricing'. It is so ridiculous - it is like they just make it up as they go - and the fact they can literally charge anything for fees IS criminal
-
I remember going to that camp and Sills also had these ridiculous short shorts that were like cut even higher in the front than the back - deserved to be cut for the shorts alone

Nice to see you back to thinking logically again 😛

I watched all the PCs/interviews last night (as well as Bean's Chris Long interview) - one thing that stood out to me was a recurring theme of receivers individually or as a collective being very focused and willing to contribute any way they can - with lots of leadership and guys with different skill sets. Thought it was interesting too that Beane singled out Hollins as a "glue guy" that "brings everyone together" which leads me to think he has an inside track to be on the 53. At this point they really seem comfortable with the make-up of the WR room. Also thought it was a cool moment when Josh just lit up when MVS yelled something at him off screen during his PC.

Joe Marino breaks down the schedule completely

I was skimming and saw Josh and chubby and thought things were going to go in a different directon 😛 -
I love that the schedule itself was just an afterthought

Buffalo Bills Schedule Discussion / Prediction Thread
stevewin replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every year for the last 30+ yrs my brother and I have gone back to Buffalo to take my Dad to a game closest to his bday 10/4. This was the worst schedule for that I can ever remember. Did get in right away on TM and got my tix for 10/20 👍 -
Shouldn't the thread title be "Jets tried to hire an actual OC"?
