    The whole league explanation "it takes a full second to look at the play clock then the snap" is patently ridiculous. As you said in basketball they are able to instantaneously make the assessment all the time. The time it takes for your eye to go from the play clock to ball is essentially instantaneous. Its one of the stupidest things in the sport

    At one of the excruciating points in the game my Dad (who is 88 and has about 8 stents in his arteries) texted "I don't feel too good right now" and at first it was like yeah this game sucks, then there was a second the thought came - wait is he not talking about the game and literally not well?? (he's fine)
