The Athletic: Bills QB room article - includes AFC East QB shade
stevewin replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's kind of jarring to see the numbers for Barkley - passed up 842K to be here vs active roster on another team, that's nothing to sneeze at -
https://theathletic.com/4015953/2022/12/27/bills-quarterback-room-josh-allen-case-keenum-matt-barkley/ Recent article in the Athletic is mostly a feel-good "this is the best QB room I've ever been in" piece - but includes this tidbit regarding the recruiting of Von Not sure that is something Josh necessarily wanted out there As mentioned - the rest of it is mostly about how well the three QB's get along on and off the field, the great team chemistry etc. Some other highlights. Barkley signing: Also mentions that when Beane called Josh (who happened to be golfing with Barkley at the time) to ask him to help recruit Von by calling him, Josh asked for a favor in return: to sign Barkley (Beane responded OK I'll see what I can do) List of teams Barkley and Keenum have played for Best friends Jockstraps: Edit: Note that this was the reason why guys are saying "jockstrap" in the Mic'd up of Josh from the GB game

Mac Jones fined for flicking ball at Epenesa

When I first saw it I was thinking that was borderline throwing a block low like that - then I realized he was on DEFENSE at the time. There is a not so fine line between fiery competitor and entitled whiny crying dirty POS - he thinks he's the former but by this point the players in the league knows he's the latter. I can imagine there's a whole bunch of players who wouldn't mind rocking his world at this point. -
NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - post game thread

I actually think Knox might have been told to get down before the EZ if he had the first - if you look at the play it almost looks like he tries to slide as soon as he catches it - but he was already in the EZ. -

But what about "Ice Balls" -
He has that "make something out of nothing" ability that requires strength and athleticism. During the game I found myself comparing Wilson to him - like what if the QBs were switched. An example was the play the Jets LB came untouched up the middle - it was such an athletic instinctive play that Lawrence made to escape, there is zero doubt Wilson turtles and gets killed. Wilson's one move to avoid the rush is run 15 yds backwards and 20 yds sideways then throw up a prayer. I'm with you I think Lawrence will be better than Herbert. Esp now with a good coach and system (and some teammates producing) to support him. Herbert can make some rocket throws, but to me there's a lack of a "wow" factor when it somes to using his athleticism to make other plays - or even willingness to do so. Maybe at this point I'm just spoiled by Josh 😛

I was going to say Saleh better get on Ticketmaster so he can buy a chunk of tix to take the team on a field trip to Highmark to see the Bills first playoff game.
