Random observations today's practice - Rain stopped right before practice turned out to be perfect weather once again - Shorter once again doing JUGS early - this time practicing low throws by knees - then 30 yd over the shoulder. Never seen someone do so many diff types of catches on a JUGS - Refs today - McD no bucket hat today - not sure I've ever seen him w/o it at camp - Before stretches, period of half-speed hurry-up (oxymoron) for 1st, 2nd 3rd team from 20 - During this drill coaches were on sidelines with headsets - first time have seen that this camp - Dawkins, Josh and Diggs were laughing it up entire time 2nd and 3rd team was out there - Barkley has been 'stout' for a while, but might want to start mixing in a salad or two with his turkey burgers - Trainer with Josh again working on his arm beginning of stretch - think officially this is just part of his warm-up now - Diggs and Davis doing the 'Everybody clap your hands' dance during warm-up - Diggs kept it going after Davis quit was having a great time - Josh not much competition in QB races I've seen this camp - D goes to other field, offense doing play walkthroughs, ST drills - D has gone to the side field a LOT the days I've seen this week - maybe they are working on some new aggressive plays - Diggs throwing ball again to far stands working kids into a frenzy - Talley sighting on sidelines - dude looks GREAT - fit and trim. Labors a bit walking tho - Kid behind me after 23 mins "I'm bored! I'm bored!" - After family of bored kid leaves, two guys come to sit behind me to replace them. It was like a Bills-specific SNL skit - for 10 mins these guys blather on literally wrong/stupid on everything they say "So Keenum is still the backup right" "Yeah Barkley retired" "Who's number 9?" "Oh that's Keenum" "Where's the new guy Kincaid - he's number 83 right?" "Where's Knox - I don't see Knox - number 87 right?" "Singetary's gone - went to Cleveland" "That Shakir guy has a shot at making the team" "'We got that Harris guy from NE' 'Yeah- and we got their RB too'" on and on.... - Once again during WR blocking drill - 2WR vs 2DB with RB behind - McD extremely intent on each rep. I realized he might actually be more interested on the Dbacks getting off the blocks that the blocking and the RB making right read - 11-11 O vs D run plays - WRs running some routes near goal line against air. One route is a juke then comback to GL pylon. Diggs running it looks like no other - such precision and grace - WR/DB 1-1s goal line - Neal PBU against Shakir - Elam flagged - Harty slips - Sherfield v Kyron Brown catch oob - Tre vs Diggs Tre perfect coverage knocks ball down back of EZ - Elam tight coverage Sherfield pbu - 2-2, Johnson bros shut it down - 2-2, Alex Austin burned - 2-2, Tre/Elam vs Diggs/Davis - Elam pbu quick slant Diggs - Shakir win beautiful contested catch vs Ingram goal line - Austin good pbu vs Shorter - Diggs burns Tre on the same comeback to pylon they were practicing earlier - Ateman beats Ingram - Shakir vs Taron inc - couldn't tell if Taron got a piece looked like it bounced off Shakir's helmet - Sherfied beats Austin perfect pass from Josh to corner - Shavers nice contested catch - D back to side field - Offense play walk thru - WR more routes against air - OL drills - 11-11 from 25 - Josh to Knox TD corner EZ perfect pass from Josh - Josh dump to Cook - Floyd coming like a windman - Floyd is fun to watch - so tall and athletic and plays with his hair on fire when I've noticed him - Diggs goes in motion, Hyde has to match up and Diggs beats him easily for TD - Knox end-around stuffed by Milano and friends - 3 wide Josh fires to Diggs at pylon couldn't hold on - Sack Floyd coming like a wild man - 2nd team - K Allen scramble 5 yds, 35 can't hold onto short pass could have been thrown better, Murray up middle - 3rd team - offside, Barkley nice throw, run up middle nothing,Jalen Wayne catch down to 2, run for TD - 1st team - Cook gets outside for 5yds, AJ knocks down pass, Josh can't handle shotgun snap, Kincaid nice pass and catch in middle 10 yds, Beautiful TD throw to Davis back of EZ got behind Elam and Hyde - RB Davis up mid for 5, Dane blanket Shakir pbu back of EZ, - 2nd team (Barkley) - Murray nice 10 yd run middle, Kincaid 10 yds, Jalen Wade 10 yds middle (sometimes they seemed to reset the spot), "Johnathon" Kingsly Johnathon knocks pass down, Patmon TD - 1st team - Allen to Kincad slant too easy, Harty catch stopped at 1 - During this time Milano laid on the ground trainer looked to be working on his right leg - little after Milano was up trainer put a wrap high around his right leg - he was shaking his leg didn't actually notice if he went back in - Off line and some extraneous people to side field, ST drills main - Poona looks small standing next to other Dline - Settle and even Basham - 1st team 11-11 from own 25 - TE screen to Knox flag, Cook shifty run up middle for 5, beautiful sideline pass Davis 15, quick out kincaid, Josh scramble left Dane int - one Josh would want back for sure - 1st team 11-11 from 40 - Long incompletion Davis Elam coverage, Elam int - Left before last few mins of practice - In general offense seemed to have a little more room to breathe today - weren't just geting engulfed by D as much as they were previous 2 days - D might have dialed back some of their pressures/stunts or Oline better or combination. The ints at end took a little shine off to me a better offensive showing than previous days - FWIW Morris has caught everything I've seen thrown to him last three practices - Was looking didn't see Mariucci or NFL network setup - Turned out to be a good practice esp after the dreary weather start to the day

I think Hackett is a clown show. The only positives he had on his resume was his father and his HIGH ENERGY Then Rodgers takes a liking to him as an OC that doesn't even call plays. I think the reason Rodgers likes him is because he can manipulate him like play-doh and then be the real person in charge of the offense
-
Not communication Josh just underthrew it - no sure if he had to short-arm it b/c of pressure (which was constant)

When I was in college me and my friends would stumble out bed Sat morning hungover and gather and watch Pee Wee's Playhouse - it was a ritual we did without fail. That and George Michael's Sports Machine were the two shows I watched routinely all during college

I was talking about Josh

Random observations from practice today: - Shorter out there again early on JUGS machine - spent a long time doing nothing but over the shoulder which I had never seen anyone do so long on a JUGS machine before. Isabella joined him later - did all his reps while high stepping. These two seem to work hard am rooting for them both - Tre and Elam went over to JUGS next - Tre in bare feet. He also walked out onto the field in bare feet - that's definitely the first time I've seen that - Shakir has signed for everyone last two days at VIP fence before tunnel. A couple guys flagged down Floyd and each had an 8x10 of him with the Rams, and at first I was thinking wow there's a couple serious Leonard Floyd fans - then I saw later they had a whole portfolio of 8x10s of players and they would bring out the proper pic as players walked by. Later I saw them talking to DJ Milk - figure maybe it was for charity or something vs them just selling for profit later - Each day when Kyle Allen runs out there's a big cheer then pause then chorus of laughter when people realize it is not Josh. Do people not know Josh's number? - Before stretch they did half speed goal line - with defense not trying they still absent-mindedly knocked down a shovel pass. It seems offense is intent on making the goal line shovel pass a thing - During the stretch a trainer was off with Josh working on his arm again - I assume that is a daily routine now to stretch him out vs it being treatment for something bothering him - Majority defense off to side field, STs work and offense working on run plays - Diggs with nothing much to do on far side during this period throws a ball into the stands then mostly trolls them the rest of the time after he's worked kids into a frenzy "Diggs! Diggs! Diggs!" trying to get him to throw another (never understood why kids scream a players last name for attention/autographs - comes off as rude to me) - Never seen so many people in VIP area in front of far stands - 4-5 deep. Until recently the far last section of stands was also reserved for VIP which was sweet if you were in that group - could watch practice from stands then wander down to field level if you wanted - now all stands are general - Another long boring ST session - OL doing drills far EZ, QBs practicing movment in pocket drills - QBs throwing to TEs against air, WRs doing a drill getting hit with pad about 5yds from release. In previous years with Chad Hall I remember the receivers doing a ton of hand fighting and very physical get off the line drills against press punishment - haven't seen that this camp the two practices I've been to - Kincaid makes a nice one handed grab gets a rise out of crowd - looks like he stumbled just a bit on his break and recovered with one hand stab - Caught a T-shirt - QBs rotating w/ WRs against air. Josh and DIggs had a long discussion after one rep - Full def comes back - OL/DL batttles one side, more ST middle, far left WR/DB 1-1s at goal line - I missed a lot of the 1-1 battles (one of my favorite parts) because stupid people standing in the aisle and constant traffic in/out of my row (get off my lawn). Few that I saw - Isabella held by Benford after nice release - Harty beats Jackson to the corner - Neal shut down Davis not sure wth Davis was doing dancing around - Shorter nice over the shoulder corner route over Ingram (same thing he was practicing on JUGS) - Cam Lewis nice PBU on Shakir - Diggs abuses Tre quick slant. Nasty - 11-11 - this session was almost exclusively dedicated to runs - included - Cook nice speed outside - Murray gets around edge nice gain - Barkley (the one pass) nice rollout to Morris - same play as yesterday - Barkley fumble snap - Spector awesome stuff on RB for TFL - Another TFL up middle didn't get number - One other attempted pass defense just engulfed Josh immediately - whistle blows for sack and in frustration Josh jumps and fires a 30 yd laser sidearm which hits Diggs in the numbers - Tre TFL coming off edge - Murray nice run up the middle - one of the few times anything got through the middle of the line - Offense walk through of plays against air - started out with 4-5 diff screens - then just WRs doing respective routes for play call - Some more 11-11, not sure if goal was to make a first 3rd and long each time - included - Harty gets lit up over middle by Rapp short of 1st - Sweet bullet by Josh to Davis between defenders - Sack - 20 yds Sahkir - Diggs beats Tre sideline - Josh throws long but misses Kincaid short who got behind entire defense by 5 yds would have been easy TD (Hamlin was one safety not sure who the other was) - Oliver chases Josh right back into line of players watching - hardly had time to react - Epenesa comes untouched - Josh had a few words for Dion - Epenesa looks fast the times I've noticed him (even with actual players impeding his way) - haven't noticed Basham at all - Cam Lewis lights up murray - crazy good hit - made a very big man go flying - Next play Murray gets ball in flat and turning up field could see he was looking for revenge - and revenge he got - stiff armed Dane into the ground and possibly further - At one point Diggs caught a contested sideline catch against Elam, started upfield, then turned around and stopped and stared at him before continuing up the field 😛 - Josh throws a rocket - a ROCKET - to Davis flying down the sideline who stretches out and makes a beautiful catch with his fingertips in stride. Looked like defenders might have let up after he caught instead of trying to light him up, so live action might have been tackled before taking it to house. When Josh let it rip my first thought was he is PISSED (the O was not clicking) and just whipped that ball as hard as he could. It was one of those throws you shake your head afterwards and mutter "oh my god" - Cook nice catch out of backfield and upfield turn. He is so natural catching the ball and getting right upfield - will be exciting to see him involved more this year - Milano breaks up sideline pass to Kincaid. Splitting hairs, but Kincaid didn't make the best play on the ball from what I saw - kind of let it hit him in the chest - but for sure elite play by Milano to stay on him step for step all the way down the field and break up the play - Josh flushed out, Cam Lewis sack consecutive plays - Josh bomb to Shakir - Lewis and Rapp both converge and knock ball away. If ball was a few feet further Shakir would have had a better chance to hold on - Overall D has just been taking it to O, but they have been throwing a lot of stuff at them - I saw CB blitzes, zone blitzes with all diff DL dropping, players coming from everywhere. While undoubtedly the idea is to get the O to learn under fire, I don't think they are getting as many quality live reps in passing game because a lot of the time a QB is under duress just checking down if they even get it off. I guess that will come with time - or maybe some practices they will designate more vanilla D - Shane Ray jumped out a few times - dude looks like a LB but is fast and strong - I learned pretty quick who #49 was and was able to stop having to reference roster sheet - It will make for a nice scene in the Disney film - but Hamlin's "int" was def not a pick six 1) Whistle blew, play was dead 2) QB just chucked the ball in the air in frustration after play was dead and ball just floats to Hamlin playing centerfield 3) Hamlin starts running down the field with a convoy of defenders while most of offense just stands there thinking hey play was whistled sack 4) Quesenberry hustled over to knock him out of bounds way before the EZ just to make sure - Just after Hamlin came off and the little dude from yesterday, his brother, came over and excitedly jumped all over him. Was a nice scene. His parents were also on the field - Kyle Alen has not looked sharp the amount I've seen him - Overall kind of a low energy practice IMO - with lots of sloppiness on offense - multiple delays, Offside, blown up plays - some to the credit of the D. Didn't realize unti halfway thru that McD wasn't there - that might have had something to do w/ the overall lack of energy/execution - Didn't realize til after that Kay Adams was in the house - prob a good thing - if I knew I likely would have missed majority of actual practice with my binocs peeled on sideline trying to find her 😛

I usually try to avoid Brady/Bellicheat threads like the plague - all the ball washing and hardly ever any mention at all of the cheating. It's like some Fringe alternate dimension where that aspect has been erased from human history. Mind-boggling to me

I think it was fully accidental from the point of view in the moment he was in instinctive pass defense mode and red jersey wouldn't normally be roaming around as a receiver during live drill. No way do I think he makes the hit if he fully processed "oh that's Josh" -

My observations from camp today - The first thing I thought when I sat down with my Dad today was how excited he was last year to see the rookie punter punt! (seems like 20 yrs ago) - Went up to the top of the stands to see the players walk out of the buildings and said hi to Astro who was in his usual place there - Shorter was out early worked on the JUGS machine for a long time. One guy who was with Astro commented he's hardly ever seen a player work as hard in TC as Shorter. Isabella also came out and worked on it for a bit - Before stretching they did a half speed 2 min drill for all three 1st/2nd/3rd team units where the D was instructed basically to not play defense. Was half speed (or lower) - but still thought it was odd have never seen that much work prior to stretching - During the half speed drill Groot and Oliver spent a lot of time dicussing and going over a move with each other - When stretches started a trainer was off with Josh and working on his arm quite a bit - not sure if this is a routine they do now - Josh was shaking his arm a bit after - Lot of boring ST drills for first day in pads. On one session the QBs were running over to the side field with Josh in the lead and he kept looking over his shoulder the whole way to make sure no QB snuck up and ran past him 😛 - OL was doing a drill for a while I've never seen OL do basically a basketball box out drill - There was a drill portion where QBs rotate throwing to receivers down the field and a couple times I saw Josh motion that he wanted Sherfield to line up for his rep - Shorter is very big and noticeable out on the field running routes - They did a blocking drill where two WRs would line up w/ 2 DBs and when the whistle blew they had to run block the guy in front of them and RB would come up and try to pick hole. McD was VERY into this drill - was running side-side watching intensely the reps with hands on knees and constantly barking at them - Notes from 1-1s receivers/DBs - Isabella toasts Neal - ran right by him - dude is fast - Elam physical breakup. In general Elam was really competing hard every rep I saw of him - Patmom great grab with Benford all over him - plucked the ball out of the air and held on - Dane blatant hold - Tre great breakup on Diggs - Dane grabs Sherfield. In general seemed like Dane had his hands all over everyone every time I noticed him - Harty burns Hyde long pass - boy is fast - Davis quick slant - Poyer had no chance - Elam blanket Diggs up the sideline - more Elam competing hard - Shakir almost great catch had to turn midair but couldn't hold on - Benford very physical rep against Sherfield - Sherfield says flag - Isabella burns Neal off the line on slant was wide open but throw late and Neal revocers to knock it down - Diggs comeback on Elam. Not fair - undefendable - Majority of defense went to side field and offense spent a long time with rum blocking against 4 man front - The row I was on the aisle in the stands was likely the most active in the stadium with people constantly coming and going - c'mon people! And get off my lawn - Diggs (once again) fired up the whole practice - whenever he's not in a drill his helmet is off and he's animated and going through something with somone, anyone. As far as his play at times it just seems too easy for him - he is at another level - 11-11 - Barkley beautiful rollout throw to Morris - Bernard extremely vocal at MLB. Have seen reports from prior days that Spector vocal as well - they might be coaching up all the MLBs to be that way - Josh perfect long pass to Davis down sideline - like perfect - Dodson beautiful play completely blew up screen - Oliver destroys a play before it could even get started - seemed like almost beat the ball to the backfield - Josh loses a shotgun snap , started to take off before he really had it - there was a period of light rain so ball likely a little slick - good it is happening now and not later - Kincaid a couple nice catches seam/middle - pads didn't seem to slow him down at all today. I can see what people say about him being smooth and seemingly effortless when running and catching - Except for intial pitch to Cook, the D seemed to shut down any attempt at run game and generally seemed to be the aggressor clogging up everything and being in QBs face. I saw Tre come on corner blitz once - think D was bringing a lot more kitchen sink than normal this time of year - Von in clothes standing next to Groot in pads makes him seem normal-sized - Had seen reports of Davis slimming down - if so, his legs def didn't - they are huge. Dude def didn't forget leg day this offseason - Goal line - First play Diggs - slant - TD. Too easy - When the philly special was unfolding I saw Josh go to EZ and thought OMG Josh is going to the EZ, then Knox hesitated before he threw then I thought OMG he still threw it - then when Johnson ran him over at first I didn't know who the defender was and my first thought was OMG if that is a scrub he's cut. The worst part wasn't the initial hit but also that he landed full body weight on him. Josh didn't get up right away - first he rolled onto his back. OMG - those 3 seconds from the time he was on his back to popping up were very long ones - Finished out w/ Barkley short pass to Harris that got stopped short of goal line then shovel pass to Morris for TD - There was some little dude on the sideline - not sure if it was a players kid - if not had to be the one of the kid's greatest days ever - Diggs was yelling at him from the field then at one point (from midfield) started to run to the sideline to chase him, Tre spent a long time talking and clowning with him, Von threw some passes with him. I wish I was that kid- 224 replies

So in next year's installment Rodgers will be filling the role of once-great old vet QB hanging on too long and going down in flames?

At the Carolina preseason game last year I met his Dad in the concourse during the rain delay and he said at that time if Brandon got cut he was going to sign with the Giants

And at the production meeting before the show they discussed nobody picking the Bills so it would generate "interest" (outrage). Greeny even said be prepared this will be screenshotted on Twitter and Bills Mafia will go crazy. These shows have become a joke - the selections the 'experts' make are mostly intended to create a stir
