No worries about Josh but the Interior DL is a concern!

I think the Bills wanted to sneak Vincent Taylor on the practice squad as a big run stuffer. Cleveland signed him to their 53. That's when they signed Zimmer to the PS. -

What was your most frustrating season as a Bills fan?
turftoe replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a toss up between the music city miracle and the year that Bruce Smith got the flu and wasn't able to play in the playoffs against the Steelers. We had Bryce Paup and Smith that year and probably could have advanced to the Superbowl with a healthy Smith. -
Rd 7, pick 239 (from vikes): CB, Dane Jackson, Pitt

Dane Jackson looks a lot like a young Fred Jackson. I wonder if they are related? Anyone have a younger picture of Fred? -
Beane, please go get Clowney

Signing Clowney is a desperate type move that Russ Brandon and Buddy Nix would be making. -

That's possible. Could have also been Tyler Johnson if the trade was with the bears. If it was round 2, it could have been a trade up to 43 with the bears to get Claypool. -

After running a 4.5 40, I could see Johnson falling to the Bill's at 54. Plus he had shoulder surgery after the combine. -

If the Patriots have been shopping Gilmore then they are probably already willing to take the 5M cap hit. Belichick is a master at letting guys go at peak value. Gilmore is going to cost more than he wants to pay and may be hitting the wall soon. Why not try to use him to move up for a top QB? -

Agree, Detroit would take a big cap hit if they let Stafford go this year. Tua could sit for a year. The problem is that Quinn and Patricia are on the hot seat. They need to win now. Getting Steffon Gilmore and extra picks goes a long way to making them better this year. -

What if it's just Gilmore and picks. Detroit traded away Slay even with a need at CB. Gilmore is plug and play in Patricia's system. Just food for thought. -

Stephon Gilmore is 29, knows Patricia's system and is a plug and play guy at a high level. If he were part of a deal, then it wouldn't take a ton of picks. Throw in Thuney as well. I think any deal with NE wouldn't happen until Detroit is on the clock, keeping away any urgency for another team to trade to #2. -

They can't get a team physical before the draft. That might be a factor. -

Your probably right. NE would probably have a stipulation that the trade doesn't happen until they are on the clock. That way Miami wouldn't have the urgency to try to get to #2. Maybe Detroit traded Darius Slay knowing Gilmore was part of the deal. -

I doubt they would let Gilmore go. #23 plus Thuney plus Edelman plus next years first. They also have 3-3rd rounders and 2-4ths this year. NE and Detroit have made several trades the past two years and I think there is something to GMs/Teams having a level of comfort with each other, especially for a big trade such as this. It's just my bold prediction on draft day. -

You are right that Saban wouldn't play a QB he didn't like. He recently came out and said that if teams pass on Tua for medical reasons, they would be making the same mistake that he made with the Dolphins regarding Drew Brees. Tua is leap years better than the QBs you mentioned. I think Belichick is going to listen to Saben. It's just a bold prediction to fire up the draft juices. I could see Cleveland trading down, especially if they trade for Trent Williams. Their top need is OT. -

I mentioned players as part of the deal besides picks. Patricia and possibly Quinn are up against it for their jobs. Getting established players that can contribute now may be more appealing than picks.
