Your logic is seriously flawed - if you look at DJ's pay, it is right in line with the other coaches that were hired the same year; those at the top have been hired more recently or are longer tenured.... This is not the most helpful post...

"It was a nice frolic in the snow, and there's no doubt they'll go to Orchard Park next week and destroy the Bills." No respect from NE - what a great way to end the season if we can beat the Patriots!! http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr...their_own_fate/

Interesting site after the game: I was at the game today and sat 12 rows behind the Bills bench...what was very interesting was the field was long empty after the game save one or two Jets players doing interviews...Lynch was just sitting on the bench by himself until Duke Preston came over from near the tunnel to grab him and leave.... Gotta wonder what is going through this team right now after this absurd coaching....

This is an interesting site about playoff chances - basically, 11-5 is the only real way to assure they get in.... http://playoffstatus.com/nfl/billswhatif.html

[OFFICIAL] Bills@Jets thread.

Quick question: is it me or have the bills had no penalties today? That seems to making a huge difference... -
Everyone should come off the ledge - even in a loss, it is clear that this is no longer Mularkey's Bills (which is for the better).... What is ashame is how much time was lost by pulling JP so early last season - the growing pains we are seeing now would have been gone if he played more last year. This coaching staff is lightyears ahead of last years - the reality is though this young team will continue to make mistakes while staying close in most games.

A small but important detail from Detroit....fromt the commissioners speech: "saw only expansion to Los Angeles anytime soon, even though it would give the NFL an odd number of franchises. "To me, the only possibility in the foreseeable future for an expansion team would be Los Angeles," he said. "I could not see a decision with two expansion teams."

would be an interesting candidate for head coach.... From ESPN: Martz coached the Rams for more than five seasons, leading them to playoffs four times and to the Super Bowl after the 2001 season. The Rams lost the title game to New England.

There is no doubt this loss is one of the worst of the year.... After expectating to see the Bills embarassed by NE on national TV, the Bills actually put themselves in a position to win. Now, what do the Bills do? 3-5 going into a bye....As someone who applauded the switch to Holcomb as the right move to give the Bills a chance, I can see now the point of going back to JP.. BUT; the Bills did play NE close and NE is certainly beatable. One can see them losing next week to INDY and all of the sudden the AFC east remains very very tight. The Bills have KC next, another team that can is beatable.... Is it time to give JP the ball and say look to 2006? Or can this season still be salvaged and the Bills make a run at the division?

9.17 Million Dollar Cap Hit For Mike Williams...
billsfaninnyc replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
where is the 9.17 million figure from? i havent seen anything even close to that in the media.... -
Tasker had a few interesting things to say: 1. JP is for sure the starter; has been working every day with Wyche.... 2. Says that Jennings is the priority in FA; the Bills are very focused on the o-line (he said that McGahee made them look better than they really are currently, dont want to go backwards by losing Jennings)... 3. Predicts that 3-4 teams will look carefully at Bledsoe as a starter.... overall good, solid interview about the Bills on Sirius....

After reading all the posts about the NFL saying they would like to play a home game in Canada (Toronto), its amazing how people jump to the conclusion that the Bills are moving north.... Its a well known fact that the Bills are one of the more profitable teams in the league (see Forbes magazine article showing the finanical picture of each team). The Bills have no debt as a team (compare to other teams that owe over a hundred million dollars on new stadiums), a strong fan base, and a great stadium deal. If you look at current NFL teams, the Vikings and the Saints are in a much, much more precarious postion for remaining in their respective cities. The most important thing to watch in terms of the Bills long term health is the upcoming talks between the player's union and the league regarding revenue sharing. Luckily, (unlike the NHL players), the NFLPA understands that revenue sharing and "cost certainty" (salary cap) is a good thing for players, the smaller market teams, and the NFL as a whole. The Bills are lucky to have Troy Vincent on its team and as a key player in these talks, as he has stated publicly that increasing revenue sharing is a priority for the players in their talks with the owners. In general, we as Bills fans should welcome more efforts to market the team to Southern Ontario; its now well known that the efforts to reach out to the Rochester market have been a huge success and helped save the team in the late 90's.

Just curious, what are people's intital thoughts about the off season moves on the defense? What's the deal with Pat Williams? The secondary?

After reading the posts on here, its clear that too many people are jumping to wild conclusions about the Bills. Number one: Don't fall into the "we played second stringers today and could not win." Pittsburgh has been moving guys in and out of starting jobs all season...wasn't Rothelisberger a 'second stringer' earlier this year? Number Two: We played the team that will win the Superbowl this year. If you look at the league this year, the AFC is so much stronger than the NFC (Philly giving up 38 to the Bengals?), and we played the best in the AFC today and had a chance to win. Number Three: Who could have predicted the play of McGahee and Evans? We finally have real offensive threats that will be playmakers for our team. Number Four: The Bills seem to have incrediable leadership on this team. All you need to do is listen to someone like Troy Vincent and you can see that mentally this team is 1000% better than the previous three years. The Bills and their fans EXPECT to win for the first time in a long time. Number Five: There are improvements to be made for sure. Lindell probably should go, and Bledsoe is a tough one. Thats why the coaches and front office get paid the big bucks...so they can figure out exactly who needs to go and who would be a better replacement. The talent decisions seem to be paying off...I do trust TD to make the right call in this area. Finally, Bills fans, remember this: We are finally respected again in the NFL. Its been a while, but no matter how today ended, teams are not going to look at the Bills on their schedule next year and say, "thats an easy win." There is a lot to build on; if anything, the Bills were reminded of the importance of September and not going 0-4. I don't know about you all, but I can't wait for July to roll around....

St Louis News Looks like the Rams players are all behind their coach, and that they are pretty fired up for this week....
-
how would the colts play on sat or sunday depending on the early games?
-
"As for how extensively the Colts’ starters will play Sunday, Dungy said he can’t yet specify. He said some of his decisions on the matter may not be made until Sunday, when the outcome of earlier games involving playoff teams are known. " No, there is something about the early games they are looking at....
-
The Colts coach said that the decision on who plays might depend on the early games...can someone explain why?
-
Colts d-lineman said this am on the radio they expect to play all starters this weekend, and pull people only if "a big lead is wrapped up." He said that the winning streak and momentum is big to the Colts; they don't want to end the season with an L.... As people have said before, Indy still has to prove it can win on the road, outside....this game is no rollover game like Philly-St. Louis was last night....

Just went over to the Colts board
billsfaninnyc replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
[if we get in the playoffs, it will be because the Rams beat the Jets. The Broncos are fired up like we are to get that last playoff spot, and will not let the Colts scrubs beat them in such a huge game, just like we won't let Pitt's scrubs beat us.] Not true, not true...just like Jacksonville was fired up today, right? Denver can lose, they beat a Titans team who has no defense; Indy does not want to lose their last game, no matter what (especially now that teams are figuring out how to play them). Go Rams, Go Colts!! -
I still think its possible that the Jets can go 10-6....down here in NYC, the Pennington/media thing has been a big distraction, NE has to something to prove this weekend, and St. Louis will be fighting for their playoff lives the final week. What would that do for the Bills if the Jets lose out?
