  1. I had to continue reading after "Quite frankly." People on this board usually hold things back.
  2. If Lynch wasn't in Buddy's plans, than Buddy should have changed his plans because Lynch has played harder and better than any other player on the roster. By the time this team contends, Fred Jackson will be a senior citizen in football terms and Spiller isn't the between the tackles grind-em kind of back that Lynch can be. The one thing you say that makes sense is the money part of it. Jackson is signed to a modest contract and won't complain. Marshawn would have wanted a new contract. We all know Ralph only pays big money to mediocre players that he has an inexplicable fondness for. This was all about Ralph's back pocket.
  3. The most frustrating thing is their moves have been bad moves and not just moves that turned out bad. Every one of the following moves were awful the moment they were made: using a mid-first round pick for McGahee, trading back into the first for lightly regarded Losman, letting Pat Williams go, drafting Whitner at #8, trading up for McCargo, drafting Maybin #11 over Orakpo, Kelsay's first extension, Kelsay's second extension, consistently overpaying underperforming FA's and on and on.
  4. Those are critical abilities for an NFL qb. I'm watching the game now and he's staring down his receivers, throwing up ducks. If Oregon's db's could catch he'd have at least three int's. He's no savior.
  5. Thanks for the info, Davey. I, as all the other "Jason Campbell lovers" on this board, was just pleasuring myself to old Redskins videos. Now, I'll have to dig out my Tyler Thigpen videos.
  6. It removes any doubt that the post is the real deal and not a poser.
  7. I'd take just Clausen over our three stiffs.
  8. The Vikings radio guys agree. Link
  9. 28 td's, 4 int's against division I teams speaks for itself. Yeah, Michigan, USC, Michigan State, Boston College aren't exactly up to par with the MAC teams, but maybe some day they will.
  10. Found video of TBarrett and his friend's first day of college link
  11. Two of those source are buried on the depth chart(Perry, Charbonnet) and logically would have sour grapes with the head coach. As far as the "medical treatment" statements, it wasn't medical treatment. The coach's decision was disciplinary in nature for a player with a "minor concussion" (he got his bell rung) who was, based on the statements of more credible sources, a distraction to the team and a threat to the authority of the coaching staff.
  12. Could be true as I've heard that Brandon is a humble guy who has the best interest of the team at heart. He may be an asset in hiring a new gm as he can handle the marketing as well as provide a buffer between Ralph and the new gm.
  13. People so quickly forget the criticism(deserved) he received during the Super Bowl run. Although he is noted for his pre-game speeches, it was no secret that he had no influence on the emotion of the team which led to their uninspiring performances in the Super Bowls 2,3,4 and his atrocious clock management that cost them Super Bowl 1.
  14. I don't know, but this is a reall buzz kill. I've been in a euphoric high all week. I broke out my zebra pants and Shout! cd. My neighbors even joined me in the "Hey everybody. Bills are going to the Super Bowl!!!" chant.
  15. True. I'm trying to temper any enthusiasm, otherwise I'll be as we all have been over the past decade.
  16. While I'm happy the Bills addressed the o-line early in the draft and share your optimism for the future, I have the feeling that they will struggle until the middle to second half of season. Then, towards the end of this year the we'll be saying, "Well, next year they'll have a year of experience together..."
  17. I prefer one who prays to God than the ones who pray at the alter of Marx and Lenin as we have now.
  18. Don't move to France. Move to D.C. which has the strictest gun laws in the country. Now that's a safe place.
  19. I cringed when they dumped Smerlas in favor of the smallish Jeff Wright. No doubt that with the '88 d-line of Bruce, Smerlas and Art Still, they would have beaten the Giants and competed in the next three. Regardless of their regular season record against the NFC, the Super Bowl is a different game. Bottom line was that the front office was content in being the best AFC team and never made the adjustments defensively to better match up against the more physical NFC offenses.
  20. Jason Peters is a dolt and I have a feeling we won't miss him. He only believed that he was responsible for the defensive end in front of him and nothing else That isn't necessarily a bad thing as usually he would be lined up against the best. However, he didnt' have the intelligence to understand that the o-line is a unit that must know each others responsibilities on each play. This was clear in the performance of the entire line and by Peter's comments after the games in which he would clear himself of any responsibility of the poor perfomance. White or black, the o-line isn't a good posiion to have a diva and I'm encouraged to see the Bills stock up on talented smart guys who are nasty, will work hard and be happy to do their job in relative anonymity.
  21. That's okay, SKOOBY has proven that there is no correlation between car ownership and football knowledge. Keep the info flowing.
  22. This is very telling. Oher has a learning disability and still managed to do double Peters score on a standardized test. It further explains how Peters allowed himself to become a tool of a slick agent wanting a big payday. Oher's scouting report says he has a difficult time with complex blocking schemes. How is that different from Peters? According to Peters he was only responsible for one defensive player per play. If you ask him, he thoroughly dominated that player all game with the exeption of a couple (game changing) plays.
  23. The thing that bothered me the most about him this past season were his excuses after the games, "Well, I thoroughly dominated, except for that one (game changing) play." He would never man up.
  24. I doubt it. Kelly had a big ego and a ROOKIE head coach coming in and telling him he was expendable(especially for a one-year wonder) would not have been handled well. Skoob, unsurprisingly you miss the point. It's about ego and self-perception Cutler sees himself as a leader and doesn't see himself as trade fodder especially coming off a pro bowl season. BTW, Kelly's first two seasons weren't very successful. Without looking, I'll bet Cutler's stats compare favorably to Kelly's did at a similar stage in his career.
  25. In fairness to Cutler, how do you think a 25-year old Jim Kelly would have responded under similar circumstances. If a new coach had come in and tried to trade him, Kelly would have wanted the hell out of Buffalo.
