I’d argue he’s an upgrade in most ways to Tremaine. If Edmunds was manning the middle this year, his play would definitely be a drop off from Bernard’s.

Too many inconsistent halves of football this year to be in the MVP race. There’s probably less than 5 games this year where Allen was hot from start to finish and was the primary reason his team won the game. Too many times this season we’ve said “run the ball more, throw less” yet the thought of taking the ball out of Josh’s hands would’ve been unfathomable going into this year. Of course the struggles haven’t been all his fault and even though he has great stats, he hasn’t been a Michael Jordan type of player who consistently rises to the occasion despite failures by his teammates to elevate their level of play. He’s just been a piece of the offense, who also makes critical errors and mistakes but also leads the league in TDs with a great assist to his legs. I don’t know if Allen will ever win league MVP but that’s not what I care about. Super Bowl MVP would be 1000x greater.

Allen was off for much of the Chargers game as well. Believe it was Kubiak in the BN that had broken down the reasons for it. He’s not playing MVP level football that’s for sure. He’s playing like a middle of the road QB and has more of those games this year than superstar play.

I don’t see KC finishing worse than the AFC South winner, so if Miami beats the Ravens, we’d be all but assured #6 BUF at #3 KC in the wildcard round of the playoffs. After beating KC we’d likely have to go to #1 BAL unless the 7th seed pulls an upset over the 2. A lot of scenarios still exist so it’s not really worth getting into now, but BUF at KC is shaping up as our most likely matchup.

Two of the other dominant OLines - Eagles and Lions - can say the same. It’s just a week to week matchup league, no OLine is a complete wall game after game.

Melvin Ingram and Chris Jones are the other two who always seem to play very well against the Bills.

Kincaid: “Oh we got hands (team)” Knox: “You’ve got hands (team) now, I don’t.” At least Knox was able to laugh off getting replaced on the hands team 😅 And yes, I know it was likely because of his injury, but I’d be surprised if they switch the two out moving forward.

The Vibe of this Team feels different… to me at least
Brand J replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall
The fact we beat KC in KC despite not playing particularly well for 2.5 quarters was extremely encouraging. The very next week they played well all four and stomped a SB contender. Biggest test and obstacle for the Bills is… the Bills. -
Daquan Jones’ 21-day practice window has been opened, per McD
Brand J replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Any sort of evaluation before he steps on the field is a guess. His legs still work plenty fine, so no one can say definitively that he won’t be at least 80% of what he was. He’s fully healed, the question is how much strength has returned to the pec? Only DJ knows how he feels. -

I imagine packages with both Jones and Joseph in the middle on obvious running downs. If Daquan could be somewhat close to his old self, that’s a tough one to run against. -
Skip Bayless Twitter/X feed is hilarious. Typical “the sky is falling” fandom.
-
He hasn’t made his typical Micah Hyde plays this year and with yet another neck issue it’s probably smart for him to call it a career. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Bills are starting two new safeties next year.

I was thinking this has to be the most “unclutch” talented Bills team I could remember.

Yeah I don’t think Gabe’s covered nearly every route he runs, but for whatever reason he and Josh just don’t jive. I remember in TC Josh saying Kincaid was “fun to throw to” and “gives good body language.” I’ve never heard him say something similar about Davis. Josh just doesn’t have the same trust in him and Gabe only reinforces that distrust when seemingly the highest percentage of Allen’s INTs are in his direction.

Al Michaels out for NFL playoffs on NBC in move he wasn't expecting
Brand J replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are the most subdued announcers, both boring. Michaels at least has interesting things to say from time to time and has some voice inflection for certain calls, unlike the aforementioned boring duo. If NBC wants excitement, bring back Gus Johnson. -
Araiza, accuser agree to dismiss civil lawsuits against each other

As stubborn as I am, I wouldn’t have dropped charges against her. Even if I wanted to move on. -
Mrs Teller said the Bills would regret giving up on her son…

I saw Gabe sprint up the seam and said “oh!” I thought we had a gimme, even without the luxury of seeing the entire field. When Josh didn’t throw it to him I felt maybe a safety was on top. When I saw the replay I just shook my head. Josh has to hit that. He also has to hit the one against Philly too. The endzone angle showed Gabe beat his man immediately to the left and continued up that way. There was no reason for Josh to throw to the right, which would’ve meant Gabe would’ve had to cross right after winning left. At least we won this time.

Did Frank Wycheck Just Say I'm Sorry From Heaven?
Brand J replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s strange no one’s talking about it. From the endzone view where Tony and Kelce are running towards us, Tony deliberately throws a shoulder into Benford, the player guarding Kelce, which allows Kelce to run uncovered. Offensive pass interference all the way. -
Monday night games - Dolphins/Titans, Giants/Packers
Brand J replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Harty’s money definitely should’ve gone to D Hop. I’m just glad the Chiefs didn’t get him. They’d be a problem with another legitimate threat besides Kelce. -

Does anyone know what the parlay payout would’ve been taking both the Giants and Titans to win? Should’ve been huge. -

Brand J replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah they would’ve had three consecutive 3 and outs when they needed to put something, anything, on the scoreboard, but the pass to Murray was ruled a catch. They didn’t get a first down after that fortuitous ruling either. I don’t know if the offense is playing tight, worried about a turnover, or what, but KC’s defense isn’t so good that it should completely stymie the Bills after they moved the ball with ease earlier. -
The "McDermott Handicap" and hopefully a solution
Brand J replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills weren’t on the wrong side of a bad call in this one, nor did they get a break. The much maligned call was the correct one, no matter how much complaining the Chiefs are doing. -

My biggest gripe about this defense is that receivers aren’t challenged at the LoS. Doesn’t matter if Sean is playing zone, man, or blitzing like a kamikazee, there’s always someone open 2-3 yards after the snap with his closest defender 7 yards off. Get up and challenge the receiver! What good is a blitz if you give the opposing offense an immediate outlet? It was illustrated perfectly in that post last week where Dan Orlovsky said “the Bills never forced Hurts to make the tough throw.” That’s McD’s defense and it’s infuriating.
