  1. Bills defense needs BIGGER guys AND more SPEED. Undersized and slow isn’t a winning formula.
  2. Given the remaining schedules of each of the teams, I think the Bills will almost assuredly be slotted at 1 or 2 (most likely 2), so I’m not so worried about breathing room against PIT. Yea and I’m operating under the assumption KC keeps finding ways to win games they should lose thereby putting us as the 2 seed. The more Baltimore can be buried, the better IMO. Agreed, but they’ll certainly have a puncher’s chance to knock us out. What was most concerning about the team that day was the run defense and the Raven’s ability to confuse our OL. They didn’t physically whip our OL, which is good, but they greatly confused them. I’d like to avoid heavy rushing teams until we get to the SB where we’d play DET or PHI.
  3. You’d rather the Ravens win the division and have the higher playoff seed?
  4. After week 13: Damar Hamlin out of 86 qualifying safeties: Coverage Grade: Hamlin's coverage grade of 59.8 ranks him 82nd out of 86 safeties, reflecting struggles in pass defense. He has allowed 16 receptions in coverage, with a passer rating of 68.6 when targeted. While the passer rating is respectable, his coverage grade indicates inconsistent play PFF StatMuse . Run Defense Grade: His run defense grade of 64.3 ranks 79th, showing difficulties in making impactful stops near the line of scrimmage compared to his peers PFF . Total Pressures and Pass Rush: Hamlin has recorded zero pressures and ranks 81st in pass-rush productivity, indicating a minimal impact when blitzing PFF . Stops (Impactful Tackles): Hamlin ranks 28th with only 14 "stops" (defined as tackles that constitute a failure for the offense), suggesting limited effectiveness in creating negative plays for opposing offenses PFF . Missed Tackle Rate: As noted, his 13.1% missed tackle rate ranks 77th, reinforcing concerns about tackling reliability. If you take into account every possible safety, his ranking is 129th. StatMuse .
  5. Was just thinking, “these old refs, man.”
  6. If your QB is a great one and your OL gives him time, he can make any WR productive. When I say that RBs should be paid more, never mind the fact they touch the ball 2-3x as much as your #1 receiver, but is Saquon Barkley’s value to an offense at $13M/yr that much less than Justin Jefferson’s value at $35M/yr? We already have that answer as Barkley is currently 2nd among MVP odds. He deserves to be paid more given what he brings to an offense.
  7. It’s “easiest” to replace in regards to what the league has become - an aerial show. But it’s clear what value a good to great RB has on a winning offense. In truth, all skill positions on offense are easily replaceable. The QB and the OL make that side of the ball go.
  8. I’m in agreement that RBs should be paid more. They touch the ball 2nd most on offense AND are asked to pass protect.
  9. Might be the best OL the Bills will have gone against this season. Detroit and Philly both are strong up front.
  10. Yeah that’s their M.O. on defense.
  11. Lions will run on any down and distance, it’s unorthodox but effective. Couple weeks ago they picked up a first on a 3rd and 8 run.
  12. Meh, I don’t put too much stock in our record against winning teams. The Chiefs had a LOSING record against winning teams last year and all they did was win the SB. Everything is 0-0 once you hit the playoffs, past performances are just that… in the past. Gotta play your best ball to win it all.
  13. Not saying it’ll happen this year, but I always thought the Bills would win the SB in a year where no one expected them to. Also thought next year had the potential to be the strongest roster the team has seen in the modern era if Beane hit on at least 4 of his 2024 draft picks. It is looking prophetic, no doubt.
  14. I’m on record before all of this as saying if Diontae Johnson was on my team, I’d look to trade him. He’s an issue on the field and off and some of you guys (foolishly) wanted him.
  15. Yep, definitely not a strong suit of Allen’s either. When I said “put it on him” for a downfield pass, I meant give him a ball he can run under. Dropping a pin is a good analogy, but if the pin is that far off, then it’s more on the throw than how the receiver ran his route.
  16. True, but mostly on the shorter stuff. If a receiver is that wide open down the field, it doesn’t matter how he ran the route, there’s not going to be a lot of variation to it. You’re a NFL QB, put it on him.
  17. Strongly disagree with this assessment. He’s a JAG out there and has given up big plays due to being slow in recognition and foot speed. Rapp is playing at near a pro bowl level, that guy has single-handedly prevented quite a few TDs from happening. Not true with Damar. Hamlin is Joe B’s next to last rated qualifying player and is more of a feel good story than an impact defender. No ill will towards the guy, I love that he’s fully back from his scare, but he 100% needs to be upgraded in the offseason.
  18. Mostly bad passes is what I saw, less on the receiver.
  19. As much as I’d rather have Hyde in the lineup over Hamlin, you can’t do it at this point. It’d be a bad look for the Bills to bench a healthy guy who’s been there since day 1: participated every day of OTAs, training camp and has started every game thus far. If you bring him in, I agree, it’s for an advisory role, but Hyde has been on record as saying he’s not interested in coaching players.
  20. Without having numbers to back it up, I’d venture that Beane has had far fewer misses on draft picks than almost all other GMs. Because of that, the Bills roster has depth and is solid across the board. Where he struggles is in identifying blue chip talent, though there’s largely luck involved, as the blue chippers (if correctly identified) would go much earlier than any Bills pick. Knox was a serviceable TE signed to a bad contract and then we traded up for Kincaid with the expectation he’d be a Laporta or Bowers for this offense. Didn’t love the move at the time. It’s still plenty early in Kincaid’s career, so hopefully it does happen at some point. The chemistry between he and Allen needs to become tighter.
  21. Combination of name recognition and a couple of plays he made in nationally televised games. I wonder if we could use that designation this offseason and fleece some other team in a trade? The irony is Hamlin is one of the top 3 guys on defense I’d love to upgrade.
  22. I think it happened after the Dunne piece to be honest. Blessing in disguise.
  23. I see him getting handled 1 on 1 pretty easily. Both him and Oliver. It’s shocking that neither guy isn’t more disruptive. At least get off a single block.
  24. 100% should be the approach, but you’ve gotta commit bodies to stopping them. Light boxes won’t get it done against that group, unless you’ve got a Ted Washington on the DL.
