  1. They might bring back MVS too once he’s released by the Bills 🤣
  2. I’d take Parsons, even with his antics. You can find more game changing WRs - even as rookies - than you can elite pass rushers.
  3. Sit Tyler Bass in a dark room. On a projector, play the sound REALLY LOUD and have the video loop over and over with nothing but Tyler’s successful kicks, interspersed with the cheers of a crowd. Force him to sit in this room for 8 hours, watching this video over and over. He’ll come out a new man.
  4. I’d say it comes and goes. When Bass was drafted, he was lights out against Hauschka in camp. When the Bills cut Hausch money and the real games began, Bass was missing kicks left and right. He already had a confidence issue. Then the Jets game happened and after starting out poorly, he ended up hitting something like 7/10 FGs. From there he was pretty reliable. When they interviewed him, he said the Jets game was his turning point, that’s where he found his confidence. His highest point was nailing two 58 yarders in a game shortly after that. The yips have returned and I’m not sure how he’s going to get his confidence back. After he’s cut, he may have success in a new environment again, but it’ll only be a matter of time before they return again. I’ve never seen a kicker truly shake them. The mind is weird.
  5. Plummer looked impressive against us, but was 11/18 for 42 yards (and a sack) against the Jets and 11/21 for 86 yards (and 5 sacks) against the Patriots. We have arguably the worst defensive depth in the AFCE.
  6. Bass has the yips, he’s done. Every kick is a slice right, except when it’s comically bad left - like the kick against the Steelers, or the one in the Blue and Red scrimmage. Those goal posts must look 5 feet across to him.
  7. Only those closest in the organization knows what would’ve happened of course, but what I meant was that if Mahomes had lasted til pick 27 - which wasn’t some far-fetched idea considering that’s exactly where he was slotted in some mocks - then he would’ve been the pick, not Tre White. Maybe they weren’t comfortable enough to take him as high as 10, but at 27? They wouldn’t have punted on the position til next year when no one knows what next year would bring. Especially when there’s a guy right there that Terry loved (and yes, I know Terry allows the ones he hires to make the decisions).
  8. Actually that’s not totally true - even though the talk was about Bills and a CB, specifically Lattimore, Pegula very much wanted Mahomes and the team made the trade thinking they could get him at the back of round 1. Mahomes was a 1st-2nd round prospect, they had no idea KC held him in such high regard. If he had lasted to pick 27 he would’ve been taken, not Tre White. This all came from the interview with Jim Monos. Could he have been lying to save face? It’s possible, but I do believe if Pat lasted til the end of round 1, they would’ve picked him. He had Pegula’s utmost blessing.
  9. No one knew what Jefferson would become, otherwise he wouldn’t have been the 5th WR taken. Vikings didn’t know they’d get him either, nor could they have expect he’d exceed Diggs as a player. Like any other team drafting players, they lucked out. I don’t disagree with your views on Diggs, I wish our front office had the foresight to gamble on a rookie WR and have that pan out better than trading for an established, yet temperamental vet, but it is what it is. I understand why they made the move. I’ll always remember Beane saying the reason they traded for Diggs was because he didn’t think they could get high enough to draft one of the “big 3” (Lamb/Ruggs/Jeudy). No one saw Jefferson as “that guy.” I also remember the consensus being “the better LSU receiver comes out next year.” (Chase)
  10. Surprised the Raidahs haven’t given him a call. Aiden O’Connell or Gardner Minshew as a 17 game starter? No thanks. Trubisky plays like someone who was involved in a horrific car accident and is now afraid to get behind the wheel again. Whatever he had once upon a time is gone.
  11. For a 2nd rounder, I would - if the team trading for him isn’t a contender. For a third, no thanks. I’d feel differently altogether if Cook had glue hands and no issues with catching or securing the ball. In that scenario I wouldn’t want to move him.
  12. 🎶Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Buffalo Joe?
  13. Sorry, I should’ve said Garrapolo AND Lance would be MVP candidates and that neither would’ve lost his job to become a journeyman QB. That’s what I meant by succeeded - sustained success.
  14. Only Jake Fromm I believe. And if I remember correctly, after the draft Beane was talking like they had to take him because he was sticking out on their board. He seemed almost apologetic about it, like he didn’t want it to be a reflection of Josh in any way. I also remember there were people saying Fromm would beat out Allen after a few months. Good times. But yeah, the Bills need to start rolling the dice and pick some QBs from rounds 4-7. Another Minshew type is out there somewhere. A guy like that could hold the fort for a couple games. I know his offensive weapons make his job infinitely easier, but he still has to make the reads and throws. If it was that easy, Garrapolo AND Lance would’ve succeeded. Or just about anyone else you throw in there. I give Purdy his credit, but it does sound like this offseason has been tough for him.
  15. Maybe it’s a coaching issue then. You know there are tons of circumstances for why one player succeeds somewhere and fails elsewhere. And by “succeed” we’ll take that term lightly since those players you’re referencing are still backup players. Instead of bringing up Brock Purdy - an MVP candidate QB for another team - and stating the offense would look much like it did with Trubisky at QB, your point would’ve carried more weight had you referenced someone like Jake Browning, the Bengals backup that played admirably in Burrow’s absence. Would Browning look better than Trubisky in the Bills system and circumstances? That’s more up for debate than an MVP candidate from another team. EDIT: Just saw you did exactly that in the post that preceded the one I responded to.
  16. The original post I responded to seemed to absolve Trubisky of blame (as well as the other backup QBs that have been on the Bills) and pointed the finger squarely at the offensive talent. You suggested that only Josh Allen (or some other elite QB) could capably run this offense because the personnel around him was that bad. Even brought up a QB who was an MVP candidate on another team and said the results would’ve been the same if he had played in front of Trubisky. Remember the pass Trubisky hit to Davidson? We saw it happen because the ball found him. There are winning routes on other play calls as well, but we never see those wins if the ball doesn’t find them. You’re right in that we have to wait for the All-22. The passing offense was bad because Trubisky was bad, not because Mack Hollins, Tyrell Shavers, Zach Davidson, Quinton Morris, etc., etc., etc., were on the field. The rest of your post was reasonable - not a ton of other backup QBs in the league would’ve looked markedly better than Trubisky, but that’s because they lack starting ability.
  17. Disagree. That’s saying there weren’t throws there to be made. There are, every down. Trubisky was late getting the ball out or missed the player entirely. Plays in the passing game are almost always there to be made, but who’s throwing the ball is the difference and Purdy is a definite step up from Mitchell Trubisky. As far as the playoff argument and missing the chance to participate by losing a couple games… of course a team could still be a SB contender. It only takes getting hot at the right time. There are plenty SB winning teams in NFL history that wouldn’t have had the opportunity if they simply lost one or two more games in the regular season. Could we use a better backup? Absolutely.
  18. Yeah, Spector also looks the part when he’s on the field, to the point I was curious when he didn’t get more time with the 1s at MLB last year (Beane said he wasn’t ready), but of course his problem is staying on the field. Injury bug seems to have it in for some players and he may be one of them.
  19. With backup MLB Baylon Spector consistently nursing some sort of injury, Andreesen took the opportunity and ran with it. Game ball for him.
  20. He’ll be on Joe Marino’s list of studs from the game.
  21. Interesting that Andreesen started over any of the other potential Mike LBs and doesn’t look at all out of place. In fact he looks the part. Who else was running MLB in camp? Deion Jones? Can’t see Morrow or Ulofoshio with the green dot.
  22. What is Torrence doing, man? Absolutely no effort to erase his assignment from the play, just touched him and allowed him to go wherever he wanted.
  23. That’ll be a forgettable drive by Torrence. Looked bad on all 3 plays, like he’s going through the motions.
  24. Morrow has been out with an injury I believe.
