What if Perry Fewell goes from an average defensive coordinator to an above average head coach? A la Mike Singletary II.. Singletary turned around that pitiful 49ers team in the first game he took over last year and finished with a winning record. What if Fewell does the same?

The Bills should be in a great position in the 2010 draft
Brand J replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the year Aaron Rodgers slid to #22 or whatever. Had we not drafted Losman the prior year, Rodgers would've fell right to us and you can be sure we would've picked him up. Even with the constant blundering of this front office, that pick would have been an insane no brainer. Haloti Ngata x 10. -

I see what you're saying, but this is easier said than done. Not in terms of, "you need a willing trade partner", but more in terms of trading up and selecting what you think is a cant miss, blue chip prospect, only to have him bust; as in Mike Williams v 3.0., or be average as in Donte Whitner v 1.2. Im more in favor of trading down and adding more rd 2-3 players, UNLESS, that blue chip prospect that you covet falls to you. -
I'll add Buccaneers to that list. I believe based on these teams, the Bills will pick around 7/8. Panthers, Titans, Seahawks, and 49ers, should all finish with a better record than Buffalo.

That's pretty much where I am every Sunday as well. It's amazing that most of us have so much hate for a team outside of our division and a team that we only meet every 4 years. I've always hated them and can't stand that they've been dubbed "America's Team". As far as who I would like to see win the Super Bowl (since the Bills are obviously out of the conversation), Saints (b/c they have so many former Bills and they need something to further bring that city together after Katrina) and Vikings (the Bills of the NFC in a way - 4 Super Bowls, albeit different years, but no championship).

I would take a 45 year old Doug Flutie, over any current QB on this roster...

Where is the GM when things go bad?
Brand J replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah ok, so that's why we're releasing him. Going forward, we need to retain as much talent on this talent starved team as possible. Lynch, with all of his off the field issues, is a player this team can't afford to outright cut. Of course if he had done something criminal (like OJ or Travis Henry), then yeah I'd be in agreement... -
I dont have the "luxury" of watching tape to see who is consistently where they are supposed to be, so I can't say that Wilson is better than Whitner. I CAN say that Wilson makes more plays in the limited amount of time that he is on the field, than Whitner has made in an entire career as a starter, so.... Yeah, I guess Wilson is better than Whitner. Definitely a better playmaker, if nothing else.. Haloti Ngata, we miss you

I must have missed the logic behind releasing Marshawn Lynch. Why stop there? Let's release Evans, Byrd, Wood, Jackson, Moorman, McGee, Stroud, and anyone else who produces on this team... -

Can't convince me as to why Nic Harris, who has been learning and studying the position since he was drafted, is being kept on the bench, while Scott tries to play a position that is totally foreign to him. Nic Harris has made plays during his time spent in the game, why keep him on the bench?! Find out what you have in him. Why is Hardy inactive?! Find out what you have in him...
-
I would've liked to see Hardy back in the fold personally. He's been ready for the last 3 weeks and it's time for him to start getting some reps out there on the field. Of course with this entire team, things that would seem to make sense to the rest of us, do not make sense to the Bills.

I've only met him once and it was a while ago, before he started playing QB for the Bills. I was walking in a dark and damp forest and came to the end of a rainbow. To my surprise, there was this little man sitting on a black pot. Now, I'm not sure what was in his pot, and didn't wanna stay and chat, because I found the situation to be quite awkward honestly. I felt that it was in my best interest to escape the situation, as soon as I possibly could. But let me get to the question at hand, as this is a whole 'nother story and I don't yet have the courage to re-live his curse that would transpire in those coming moments. I want to find out if someone knows him personally, because I would like to hold a candle light vigil and apologize for starting Rob Johnson over him, in our last playoff appearance. I think then, and only then, will we finally remove his hex and visit the playoffs once more...

Finally .. The Real Problem Comes to Light

Someone needs to show this to Maybin
Brand J replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought your video was going to show Orakpo making a play.. Maybin desperately needs to get stronger this offseason and add more "natural" strength - not packing on 30 pounds of muscle just to look good at an NFL combine. The reason why Schobel can play at 243 pounds and make a decent amount of plays, is that he is "country" strong, natural strength. Maybin looks as though he plays with no power... -
MIKE VICK IN BUFFALO.....WHAT???? No, not right now

If you like to think that most animals dont suffer Philster, you should never approach a vegan and ask him/her, "share with me your knowledge". The majority of animals suffer - from fawns who aren't allowed to stand, or move around (creates tender meat), to the thousands and thousands of chickens that live their entire life standing solitary in a cramped cage. The real truth behind what we do to "food" animals is sick... -

Brand J replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is true... An animal is an animal. I dont agree with or support dog fighting, but to say that Vick is a sociopathic killer is a bit much. People hunt animals for sport as well. Why devalue an animal's life because it is your food? People in China have long been connected with eating dogs. -
MIKE VICK IN BUFFALO.....WHAT???? No, not right now
Brand J replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well it couldn't happen next year, as he signed a 2 year contract, but Dungy is Vick's mentor. If Dungy would like to coach the Bills and bring in Vick the year after the upcoming one, it could be interesting.. -
We should really consider getting Ron Jawarski
Brand J replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Horrible?? Really?! So you would rather have the highest paid OT in the league, giving up sacks at a rate not commensurate with his pay? A LT that earned the comment on national tv, "this guy came into the league as an undrafted tight end and tonight he's playing like one". A LT who assessed his play was substandard, because his contract was substandard. You would rather have this guy on the team? NO THANKS!! Even if Peters was playing at an all world level, you can't fault Russ for dumping this piece of garbage. Maybe Bell will improve his strength in the offseason and become a rock on the OL, if not, draft a LT high for security reasons. The trade of Peters which provided the Bills Eric Wood and Shawn Nelson, was Brandon's first GREAT decision. -

Brand J replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Therein lies the problem. I think if it was solely Russ Brandon's call, Jauron would've been fired last year. I remember distinctly (after the Miami game in Toronto) his anger over the team's performance, as well as DJ's coaching ability. He doesn't have enough power in the FO to impose whatever changes he would really like to make. Here again, you can blame Wilson. Look, Im not saying Russ is a top notch GM - he hasnt been on the job long enough to give him the credit - but those who are blaming him aren't looking at the entire situation. Russ could be Polian v 2.0, or he could be a "John Guy" equivalent GM. We just don't know... -

Brand J replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is absolutely true. Russ didnt hire Dick Jauron (Levy), Russ didnt draft Whitner over Ngata (Levy/Modrak), Russ didnt trade back up into the first round to select McCargo (Levy/Modrak), Russ didnt blow money on failed, high priced free agents (John Guy), what Russ has done in his short time as a GM is draft promising young OL, rid the team of a malcontent OT (Peters), and brought in a hall of fame WR (though on the downside of his career). IMO, the only thing we can criticize Russ for, is drafting Maybin over Oher, although the book is not out on Maybin and hindsight is always 20/20. Dont blame Russ Brandon for finally starting to get things right on this roster, blame Levy, Modrak, Guy, and Ralph... -
Yeah they did grow up together. Somebody (James Brown?) had sat them down and interviewed them together. Questions were the typical: who's faster? who has the better hands? better route runner? stronger? etc. and they often reflected on their childhood growing up. I tried to find the video on youtube, but no luck...
