Kong Suh! Kong Suh! Kong Suh! Seriously though, there's not too many QBs who would immediately bounce right back up, after that hit he put on the dummy.

I had never heard of Dan Williams until a couple of months ago. Going into his senior season, he was projected to be a late round pick ---> an undrafted FA. All of a sudden he's worth the #9 overall pick in the draft?! I think the same people who are clamoring for Dan Williams, are the same people who were clamoring for Robert Ayers a year ago - another obscure TEN player who seemingly came out of nowhere and shot up the draft boards. NO to Dan Williams!! Give me the fat Mt. Cody in the 2nd!

It's interesting you say that, because under the ESPN NFL Insiders headlines, a Washington Redskins logo is shown, while talking about a probowl running back being traded..

The league is all about "what have you done for me lately?". People dont like that Marshawn twice got in trouble with the law and is reportedly a jerk off of the field. Because he put on 15-20 lbs of muscle last offseason, he also lost much of the speed that he had (was never a burner anyway). When you couple that with the fact that Fred Jackson outperformed him, fans have determined that he is expendable. I remember the way Marshawn ran as a rookie and would've had a good chance of winning offensive ROTY honors if not for Adrian Peterson's monsterous season. He still has a lot of growing up to do, but personally I wouldn't trade him - the compensation would not be a fair return for what he could potentially bring to the 2010 team.

We shouldnt. Next question...

Celtic you obviously have NO clue and I don't know why I am wasting my time trying to educate you. As a quick reference to defeat your ENTIRE argument, remind me how many Probowlers the Pittsburgh Steelers had on their line when they WON the Superbowl a couple of years ago..? How about you actually do some research before making up garbage, you'll come off as a more intelligent poster. Peters is a good LT - not the best in the league and not worth his gigantic contract - but he is a good LT. If you say otherwise, you are arguing not only with me, but NFL personnel evaluators, as well as coaches and players who have made him a 2x Probowl selection. Saturday is a hall of fame center?! What are you smoking?? Here's some research for you to further defeat your argument Polian Criticizes Colts OL What are you going to make up next? Your argument is done and you have been disproven. Choke on that bowl of crow please, you'll be doing us ALL a favor...

Brohm, Campbell, Edwards, Fitzpatrick

I had never been sooo frustrated with one player before, until those plays happened. My blood was boiling I was so heated. It happened in back to back games too! After those plays, I wanted Trentative to accompany Dorothy on her trip to find the Wizard. Who would he replace? The Tin Man of course! Trent needs a heart... -

Should've put our emergency QB in the poll - Roscoe Parrish.. -
Why is he a clown? Because he's not named Sam Bradford? You, I, and 32 NFL franchises, have no idea which QB in this draft will have the most successful NFL career - it could be a QB that the Bills pick in the 3rd round. Clausen could also be a perennial Probowler, while your favorite QB Bradford is stuck holding a clipboard as a career backup. Who knows...

Nice bowl of crow? You think that you proved a point by stating Peters is a bum and not a premier LT? Need I remind you that a GOOD QB, not even a great one, but a GOOD QB will eliminate many of the sacks that Trent and Fitz take...? It's not a coincidence that poor QB play has also led to high sack rates. Why do you think Manning has only been sacked around 15 times YEARLY?! He must have one of the best OL in the league correct? Please.. Quick decision makers are an asset behind center. This is why you can have others such as Kurt Warner, going to the Superbowl, while having his blindside protected by our very own outcast LT - Mike Gandy. I guess Warner had 2 Probowlers on that offensive line as well huh? Because every team that makes the SuperBowl, your words, has at least 2 Probowl linemen. Might want to do some research on teams that have made the Superbowl in this past decade alone, before you start spouting what you deem to be "facts". I never said "a premier LT wouldn't help." Way to make up an argument. I stated that a good/great QB, is more important than a good/great LT. Peters actually played better as a Bill, than he did as an Eagle this past season, yet, gave up less sacks with the Eagles. Why do you think that is? Remind me, who was the Eagles' QB this past season? Is that individual considered at least a good QB?

One of my other favorite quotes from JohnnyFairPlay: "have you seen Jimmy Clausen as a freshman and sophomore? He sucked! Don't just focus on what he did as a junior, go back and look at his overall body of work" People are idiots and players aren't allowed to improve apparently...

I read and understand English perfectly well thank you. Do you understand what YOU wrote in YOUR own post?! Obviously not! You compared Clausen to all of the other failure QBs who have been drafted and stated nonsense, "all of these QBs looked as good, or better". It should tell you something when more than one person responds to your idiotic post and gathers the same message from it. Maybe your intention was misconstrued, or maybe you're just an idiot who needs to go back and study "main idea". Frankly, I don't care. The biggest help this franchise needs, is some one who CAN toss the pig skin!! What about that do you not understand?! Some people like punishment and enjoy seeing their team lose every Sunday. When the OL had Jason Peters trotting out to protect Edwards' blindside, why did he STILL suck when given time?! I give in - let's go into next season with Fitzpatrick and Edwards set to battle it out once more. According to you, these QBs just need some help..
-
You could just as easily insert EVERY QBs name into that sentence, but decided to focus on Clausen. Your argument remains the same if everyone's favorite QB this year - Sam Bradford - is inserted into your sentence. The performance of one human being, in no way correlates to that of another. We are all individuals and you have just as much knowledge as I do whether or not Clausen will succeed or fail - 0. At some point, our young QB is going to have to take the reigns of this team - would you rather it be now, or 2 - 3 years down the road? It doesn't matter if the ProBowl is a popularity contest - I'd take any of those ProBowl QBs over our QBs, before I take any of those ProBowl LTs...
-
Your argument is far from logical. First, was Dan LeFevour playing against the same level of competition as Jimmy Clausen? LeFevour didn't put up better numbers as a senior than did Clausen and was playing in a far less competitive conference. Sure, there may be another highly skilled QB (or two) next year in the NFL draft, but will the Bills be in a position to draft him? QB is the MOST important position on an NFL team - something that seems to get lost with many of you. Would I rather have a Pro Bowl QB or a Pro Bowl LT? That question isn't even up for debate..
-
Clausen, no question. As much as everyone will not admit it, the QB is the biggest issue on this team. LT is a close second..
-
We need a LT wayyy more than a RT. You only take Bulaga (or whoever else) at #9, if you believe that he can be a successful NFL LT. Hopefully the days of spending a top 10 pick on a RT are over...

Honestly, we are such stupid/picky Bills fans
Brand J replied to JustMaxx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After 30+ starts nonetheless. I am done with Trent Edwards. I was actually done with him before this last year - right around the Cleveland game of a couple of years ago. When he threw 2 yd passes on 4th and 20+ in consecutive games earlier this season, I wanted him off of my team at that moment. Some people have blind loyalty. I see a player who sucks regardless of the circumstances. Others see a player who can be an average --> above average player if given a wall of an OL, a star WR opposite Evans, and a coach with the offensive credentials of a Mike Shanahan. Edwards time in Buffalo as a starting QB is done. It's time to move on and come to grips with this reality... -
I'm digging this up again, because some of you obviously need to read this article. There was too much stupidity in the "what's wrong with Clausen?" thread, that I just couldn't comment on it all - small hands, short, his play as a freshman/soph, someone punched him and blackened his eye so it means he deserved it and is a prick, he's bad, guaranteed to bust/fail, etc., etc., etc., nonsense, nonsense, nonsense... If the Bills do pass on Jimmy Clausen at #9 providing that he's available, I will hope to the high heavens that he fails for that team. I couldn't accept the FO making yet another colossal draft day blunder, at the NFL's most important position and our team's greatest position of need...
-
You're comparing Jimmy Clausen's attitude to Ryan Leaf?!?! Dude give me a break..
-
Too bad Donte didn't get any of his brother's genes. I would've had less of a problem with the FO drafting Whitner over Ngata, if Donte was a 6'2" 215 lb safety that ran a 4.4 40 yard dash (and translated to the field), had hands like glue, and hit like a truck.
-
To think, we coulda drafted him in the 5th round of the supplemental draft! The previous FO was caught too often napping, participating in Wii Fitness games, and watching re-runs of "The Golden Girls", "Matlock", and "In The Heat Of The Night".
-
I'm not sure why he wants to be traded. Every thing that has come his way, has been a product of his own doing. Don't get mad at the Bills, their fans, and the city of Buffalo, for the trouble that you continue to get into...
-
I too watched him play and describing him as "bad" is the last thing I'd say while watching him lead comebacks. I am not a Notre Dame fan, but have a friend who is a die hard Irish fan, so I decided to peek at a few games. I remember when Clausen took the field as a freshman - that guy was bad. The Clausen that took the field this year was an excellent player. Maybin was putting up stats against no name teams, so I don't understand where you're getting the "my logic parallels the previous managements decision". Maybin was a 1 year starter who put up stats against bad teams and disappeared in big games. Clausen started all 3 of his years, put up stats against top tier teams, and made big plays in big games. If you honestly watched Clausen play this past year and felt that he was a bad QB, you need to get better prescription glasses...

A fiery QB, who played in a pro style offense, while putting up staggering numbers (28 TDs/4 INTs/68% completion). This is who you take at #9 if he is available and it's not even a question in my eyes. For all of you who dislike Clausen, two questions: 1) did you actually watch him play? 2) what is the specific reason why you believe he can't get the job done?
