Stafford was on a heater last week. That sort of performance wasn’t easily replicated, virtually every freaking pass was on the money and the WRs made some amazing catches. The “TD” pass Stafford just blew to a wide open Nacua would’ve been a TD last week.

9ers are without a doubt winning the LoS on defense. They’re solid against the run and pass. Not to mention their secondary is sticky like glue and don’t concede easy stuff.

One of Ed’s worst reps that sticks in my mind was a 4th and 5 versus the Dolphins in the 2nd matchup. Tua ended up rushing for the first down and on the play Daquan was doubled and Oliver was singled. Ed was getting manhandled by the guard and even jumped in the air to try to disengage from him. Still couldn’t. Ed looked like a JV player wrestling his dad, I was surprised how easily he was controlled.

Stafford was absolutely dialed in against the Bills. Not so much against the 9ers.
-
Funny thing is, if and when the team decides to go back to Williams, he likely won’t step in and play as free and fast as he did before the benching. Game reps matter and he’s been closer to a healthy scratch than a regular contributor.

Cowboys OLB DeMarvion Overshown - torn ACL, MCL, PCL
Brand J replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
There was a draft video circulating at the time where Beane was targeting two LBs in the 3rd. One was Dorian Williams as we know because he was selected, the other was rumored to be Overshown. -
I’m not sure Quinnen Williams was worth the 3rd overall pick either. Dexter Lawrence (17th) and Jeffrey Simmons (19th) were absolute steals in that draft.

Elam will probably go to some other team and be their version of L’Jarius Sneed, a long, fast, handsy CB. Let’s hope it’s not KC, CIN, or BAL.
-
Yikes. T’Vondre Sweat, the Titans massive DT that went in the 2nd round, has 18 solo tackles himself with 38 assisted tackles. Could be Mt Washington part II.
-
Just saw on GMFB that entering the game, teams that scored 6 TDs and had 0 giveaways in the SB era were 245-0. Bills are the first team to lose in that scenario.
-
I was a fan of the Oliver extension, but he’s not earning that money this year. Far too invisible, I don’t recall him having one disruptive game all year whereas in the past you usually got at least two of those each season with more solid play.
-
I mean, I wouldn’t mind that the Bills defense gave up rushing yardage if it meant the other team struggled to move the ball through the air, but that’s not the case. At all. Watch the Lions be able to run or pass at will, we can’t effectively take anything away with our slow and undersized defense.

Rousseau is a good player, kind of unbelievable he didn’t register a single statistic today. He had a bad game, it happens. I scoff at the idea of paying him $25M/yr though. Too rich for what he brings game after game in my opinion. Anything above an $18M AAV and I let him sign with someone else, draft his replacement.

Given the remaining schedules of each of the teams, I think the Bills will almost assuredly be slotted at 1 or 2 (most likely 2), so I’m not so worried about breathing room against PIT. Yea and I’m operating under the assumption KC keeps finding ways to win games they should lose thereby putting us as the 2 seed. The more Baltimore can be buried, the better IMO. Agreed, but they’ll certainly have a puncher’s chance to knock us out. What was most concerning about the team that day was the run defense and the Raven’s ability to confuse our OL. They didn’t physically whip our OL, which is good, but they greatly confused them. I’d like to avoid heavy rushing teams until we get to the SB where we’d play DET or PHI.

You’d rather the Ravens win the division and have the higher playoff seed?

Damar Hamlin leading pro bowl voting
Brand J replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
After week 13: Damar Hamlin out of 86 qualifying safeties: Coverage Grade: Hamlin's coverage grade of 59.8 ranks him 82nd out of 86 safeties, reflecting struggles in pass defense. He has allowed 16 receptions in coverage, with a passer rating of 68.6 when targeted. While the passer rating is respectable, his coverage grade indicates inconsistent play PFF StatMuse . Run Defense Grade: His run defense grade of 64.3 ranks 79th, showing difficulties in making impactful stops near the line of scrimmage compared to his peers PFF . Total Pressures and Pass Rush: Hamlin has recorded zero pressures and ranks 81st in pass-rush productivity, indicating a minimal impact when blitzing PFF . Stops (Impactful Tackles): Hamlin ranks 28th with only 14 "stops" (defined as tackles that constitute a failure for the offense), suggesting limited effectiveness in creating negative plays for opposing offenses PFF . Missed Tackle Rate: As noted, his 13.1% missed tackle rate ranks 77th, reinforcing concerns about tackling reliability. If you take into account every possible safety, his ranking is 129th. StatMuse . -
Was just thinking, “these old refs, man.”

If your QB is a great one and your OL gives him time, he can make any WR productive. When I say that RBs should be paid more, never mind the fact they touch the ball 2-3x as much as your #1 receiver, but is Saquon Barkley’s value to an offense at $13M/yr that much less than Justin Jefferson’s value at $35M/yr? We already have that answer as Barkley is currently 2nd among MVP odds. He deserves to be paid more given what he brings to an offense.
-
It’s “easiest” to replace in regards to what the league has become - an aerial show. But it’s clear what value a good to great RB has on a winning offense. In truth, all skill positions on offense are easily replaceable. The QB and the OL make that side of the ball go.
-
I’m in agreement that RBs should be paid more. They touch the ball 2nd most on offense AND are asked to pass protect.
-
Might be the best OL the Bills will have gone against this season. Detroit and Philly both are strong up front.
-
Yeah that’s their M.O. on defense.
-
Lions will run on any down and distance, it’s unorthodox but effective. Couple weeks ago they picked up a first on a 3rd and 8 run.
-
Meh, I don’t put too much stock in our record against winning teams. The Chiefs had a LOSING record against winning teams last year and all they did was win the SB. Everything is 0-0 once you hit the playoffs, past performances are just that… in the past. Gotta play your best ball to win it all.
