30 sacks from the DE position?!?! From our current group of DEs?? 40 sacks from the DLine alone?? DreamOnDan... -
The 2000 NFL Draft was by far the worst in recent memory: Rd. #1 - DE Erik Flowers Rd. #2 - FS Travares Tillman Rd. #3 - OLB Corey Moore Rd. #4 - WR Avion Black Rd. #5 - RB Sammy Morris Rd. #6 - DT Leif Larsen Rd. #7 - WR Drew Haddad Rd. #7 - OLB Dashon Polk

In that video, his separation from the DBs looked a lot like Lee Evans when Evans was in Wisconsin.

Haha, I remember that show. I was around 6 or 7 when it was on the air - 1986/1987 somewhere around there; isnt that correct? Everybody sing along - "Memories..."

Plucked this off of the buffalobills.com messageboard. I hope this story is false, and who is Pauline?!?! 2 new teams interested in Briggs - The Bidding wars begin -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to Scout.com Angelo wants more from the Skins and two new teams have made offers Here's the latest according to Pauline's sources: Angelo trying to get more out of the Redskins The trade offer on the table would send Briggs and the Bears' first-round draft pick – No. 31 overall – to Washington in exchange for the Redskins first-rounder at No. 6. Briggs' representative, Drew Rosenhaus, has been running his mouth to anyone who will listen that this is a good move for both teams, but Angelo is not about to let an agent and a disgruntled player force his hand. According to Pauline, Angelo is also asking for linebacker Rocky McIntosh, Washington's second-round selection a year ago, to sweeten the pot. McIntosh would be an instant replacement for Briggs and the Redskins actually traded up last year to get him, but owner Daniel Snyder has been know to away draft picks like Kleenex. Bills need to replace Spikes and Fletcher-Baker Buffalo has been very active in the trade market this offseason, sending tailback Willis McGahee to Baltimore for a slew of draft picks before packaging linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb to Philadelphia for defensive tackle Darwin Walker. Linebacker London Fletcher-Baker left for the aforementioned Redskins via free agency, so the Bills have major holes to fill at that position. Pauline has learned that Buffalo is offering their pick in the first round – No. 12 overall – to the Bears for Briggs, although Angelo would have to include another selection in return for that deal to happen. This potential trade could pick up some steam because Buffalo is coached by former Bears front man Dick Jauron, who Briggs played for as a rookie. Giants also in need of serious help at linebacker New York currently has openings at both outside linebacker positions, having cut both LaVar Arrington and Carlos Emmons in the offseason. Antonio Pierce is the only `backer the G-Men have with a legitimate NFL resume, plus their defense was absolutely ravaged by injuries last season. Pauline reports that the Giants have offered their spot in Round 1 – No. 20 overall – to the Bears for the durable Briggs, although this deal would technically have less appeal than the other two according to the draft value chart. Angelo would probably much rather pick 20th in the first round as opposed to 6th or 12th because of the money involved, but New York will have to offer more for this swap to happen. Apparently the Bears message board is buzzing over the news and is in favor of sending Briggs here for the #12 straight up... Im tired of hearing about the Bills rumored in all of these trade proposals... keep the draft picks and build from within - no huge money to another team's disgruntled player!!

Seems like a guy with wayyyy too much time on his hands. Maybe I can get him to write some position papers for me and while he is at it, do my mathematical proofs homework? hmmm....

Care to share? Levy, Bills Still Have Work To Do
-
What would be more preferred? The Ravens 2nd in '07 and 5th in '08 or the Titans 3rd in '07 and 4th in '08?

The only problem that the Bills would run into in trading the 12th pick, is that you're losing out on a potentially talented prospect at a contract that is peanuts in comparison to established veterans. You have to build your team through the draft, because free agents command soooo much more money. As an organization, you bank on bright young stars such as Lee Evans and JP Losman, making BIG contributions at a value that is less than their talents would indicate. Thus, trading a 12th pick in the draft for a 6 year/$48+ million contract, would not be a good return for the organization.
-
Yep, you're correct, it was a 15 yard run (handoff from Losman) for a first down.
-
Doesn't mean much... The Bills took another player in the first round that they didn't interview at all at the combine. The name escapes me, but I think it was Lee Evans. Could be seen as a tactic that states, "we are not interested in this player" but in reality, the player is the number one target on the board.

ok..the Bills signed Dockery and Walker..we get it
Brand J replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read that the Bills just spent $75 million on the online. Dockery got 7/$49 million, Walker received 5/$25 million, and Whittle received a 1/$760,000. Also being speculated that Langston was brought in to play RG. The question is, who is better, Duke Preston or Terrance Pennington? Walker will be inserted at the weakest link. -
Thats easy for you to say... Hell, if I did twice the work of another employee at my job, but all of a sudden he is making more money than I am?!?! Worse yet, I wouldn't be able to negotiate fair compensation for my efforts for another two years?!? You better believe that I'd be putting up a fuss and I'm sure I'm not the only one...

NFL Combine Info. for Sunday.

Whoever Yamon Figurs is, he probably has just made himself some money with those 40 times. -
Excellent: Pass Rush Average: Stuffing the run Weak: Secondary I'll take a mean and intimidating pass rush any day over the previous two... sure I may have an average rush defense, but if I'm able to get a team into a third and long situation with my average rush defense, watch out! This would also come into play if my team got ahead on the scoreboard. Trying to play catch up against an excellent pass rush is doomed to failure. The cover 2 also stresses a strong pass rush, so basically we need to sign/draft anyone who can effectively attack the line of scrimmage... Oh yeah, the best defense is a ball control offense!

Marv to hold 10 am presser on Friday
Brand J replied to beerme1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"We like our receiving core, Lee Evans is a premier receiver and Josh Reed got better. We also like what Roscoe brings, but we could draft another wide receiver at the right spot" "TKO moving inside is not an option that we are considering" -

"Angelo moving inside is a possible replacement for Fletcher, also the draft might produce someone" "I went a long time thinking, 'gosh our tackles are not producing, our tackles are not producing' but you have to have linebackers that attack, not just pursue" "Kevin Everett and Duke Preston need to make a big step forward" -

"We have to get better at stopping the run" "I think that the offensive line is our number one priority" "Yes, there will be another running back in here to challenge Willis McGahee, either free agency or the draft" -
No one has posted about Matt Light?!?!

I've also noticed that the San Diego rookie OT Marcus McNeill made it as an injury replacement. Some one needs to do some campaigning... -
I thought that if an OT went down with an injury, Jason Peters' name would be the first to pop up as an alternate in the Probowl. Jonathan Ogden is a scratch, so the league calls up the Patriots Matt Light?!?! He does more holding than a dance couple! After all of the All Pro lists and considerations that I have seen Peters' name on, why was he snubbed? Matt Light can't touch Jason Peters...

In honor of Media Day in Miami
Brand J replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would ask any of the players: if you were coach of the Bears this season, at what point would you have replaced Rex?? ...you guys know how the media tries to divide teams. -
Whats the score? Who stood out besides Leonard?

Taken from Profootball Weekly, so who knows what its worth - Following on the heels of some uncomplimentary comments about Buffalo in an interview in the current issue of Penthouse magazine, and the news that McGahee has fathered three children with three different women in the past two years, it appears as if RB Willis McGahee has further alienated a Bills brain trust that places a big emphasis on high character and morals. Add in the fact that agent Drew Rosenhaus has mentioned the desire to extend McGahee’s deal, which expires following the 2007 season, and word is the Bills are going to make addressing their RB situation a top priority this offseason. We hear the Bills are not likely to shop McGahee but that they would consider a trade offer if it were proposed to them. To give up McGahee, Buffalo would expect a first-round pick plus one of the following: a player, a late-round draft pick this year or a future draft pick. Rumors

I don't understand why everyone is sooo enamored with Cato June, sure he has above average pass coverage capabilities, but he's an absolute liability in the run game. Toooo many missed tackles and too often caught out of position.
