  1. Turk Schonert does have a role in contributing to the lack luster performance of the offense this preseason, but he isn't the biggest problem. The main problem lies with the guy running the offense/throwing the ball. To put the blame on Schonert would also indicate that if Tom Brady or Peyton Manning were to step behind center and run the same offense, they too would have similar stats the past few games - 7/11 - 45 yds 1 int; 6-13 - 31 yds 1 int.

  2. I saw all that I needed to see on a drive in the second quarter: a play action pass was called. Trent fakes to Dominic Rhodes and Rhodes runs about a yard past the line of scrimmage and turns around to be an outlet. Trentative Edwards in fact NEVER looks anywhere else on this PA pass, eyeballing Rhodes the entire time. Rhodes gets blasted on a 1 yard gain. He could have had Lee Running open, Roscoe, Josh, a tight end, WHOEVER! But Trent NEVER surveyed the field for an open wide receiver. His confidence is non-existent right now. Hopefully he can make a few plays Monday night in Foxboro to get some of that back, but Im not counting on it...

  3. Why is this joker still on the team?!?! He must have naked pictures of someone in the FO. I was watching him exclusively on passing downs and I am beginning to think that if the OT that usually blocks him, just stood there and actually let Kelsay run around, he would run 15 looping yards around to the QB out of habit. There is NO WAY he expects to get to the QB on passing downs and I can see it in his effort. CUT HIM TOMORROW!! Biggest waste of money this side of Mike Williams!!

  4. Somebody PLEASE tell McKelvin that you cannot give a 10 yard cushion on the 5 yard line! The Patriots, just like GB did with Jennings, will turn that into a quick pass and get 6 every time... He should either play press or stand on the goal line, NOT 5 yards deep in the endzone.

  5. OK here is another anti Kelsey thread...

I have been really impressed by Copeland Bryan this preseason. He seems to play like his job is one the line.... well it is lol

I would like to see him play with the first unit to see if he can handle the play against the other teams first O-line to judge where he really is.

Now I wish Maybin had been to training camp because if he could handle the starting job it would be Maybin, Schobel as your DE's and Bryan and Ellis as your backups. The way Bryan is playing maybe he should start and have Maybin come off the bench.

Maybe this is a year early but why not??

I don't see how keeping Kelsey for another year helps this team. They did try to move him this offseason .

It would not be a shock to me if he is cut frankly. Right now I think Denney or Kelsey will be cut. I think Bryan and Ellis have shown enough promise to keep on the active roster.

There are always surprise cuts and I think your are going to see it this year from the DE and TE positions

Stupar I think has earned a roster spot as well. BTW

Copeland Bryan did get really good all of a sudden. Besides going against 2nd and 3rd stringers, how is he able to look so effective? Is he on the juice?!

Too answer your wishes: everybody would also like to see Nic Harris supplant Keith Ellison and Stupar/Nelson given a chance to supplant Schouman, but it probably wont happen with this coaching staff...

  6. If Hangartner's performance this past game in the pivot is what we have to look forward to with 3-4 defenses this year, then this line needs to formulate soon. I know that having two rookies playing next to each other isn't ideal, but they are both intelligent and I believe they would be able to handle the responsibilities. Wood would be solid in the middle! Kent Hull part deux...

  7. And also D Bell?

    D. Bell got some playing time at LT with the starters and more than held his own. Perhaps the coaching staff wants to see if he is ready to move up sooner rather than later. It would of course jumble the OL once again, but if Bell can continue to hold his own against the other team's starters, my OL would look like this:

    LT: D. Bell

    LG: Andy Levitre

    C: Eric Wood

    RG: Brad Butler

    RT: Langston Walker

Hangartner reprises his Carolina Panther role as first man off of the bench at G, C
