We will be pulling for you guys. I would love to see the Bills dominate in the draft. If you get a star QB that would put you guys in the running for winning the AFC East. The Pats are on their way down and the Jets stink. You guys got this. I billieve!!

Thanks, Ice. Good luck to the Pack as well. Hopefully we land the next Aaron Rodgers in this draft.

  2. I cheated with a few of these selections - had to look up guys to fill out my list. Players that are before my time are indicated in parentheses. Any others that should be added? I'm still looking for a bookend DE...

In junior college Josh Allen finished 57th out of 58 qualifying QB's in  completion percentage.( 49%)

    So there is that.

    Not a fan.

But look at who he had around him!

In all seriousness, what I take away from Metz's argument is that Allen was playing with NFL caliber talent in 2016 and no NFL caliber talent in 2017. Well, his 2016 tape should look better if his team had such a talent discrepancy in a weak football conference, but here's the rub - his numbers in 2016 weren't eye popping at all. The guy has never been a dominant player regardless of who he was playing with and against. How many defensive players in this same conference went on to play in the NFL? Take another QB and put him in Allen's situation - Cam Newton since so many like to compare the two. Would Newton look like a varsity QB playing with and against JV players? Or would he look like just another guy on the football field? I'd have to think he'd shine regardless of who he was playing with and against, so I don't buy the argument he wasn't helped by his teammates. I don't know if Allen will succeed or fail in the NFL, but most signs point to him being a bust.

Haha, I see potential for both a negative AND positive argument. Prior to that point, he blasted each logo with precision, no missteps. What was it about seeing the Bills logo that made him hiccup? Not only once, but TWICE? The Bills gotta be on his mind...

It's probably a bit unfair to compare Allen to Roethlisberger. He has the size, yes, but nowhere close to the same processor upstairs.

Jackson chose not to run a forty today.

He didn't run at the combine either. I don't think he wants that aspect of his game to wow the scouts.

Also interesting to note: according to Mayock, teams are having trouble reaching him. They want to sit down and get him on the white board, but are having trouble in their efforts to know him. I also remember Lamar's interview where he stated he didn't want to speak after winning the Heisman. Seems like an overly shy guy and I don't think any of this pre-draft stuff appeals to him.

  8. I went back and looked at the 1985 NFL Draft, didn't realize the team was also in dire need of wide receivers. They selected three that year. Rather than drafting CB Derrick Burroughs at 14, I wonder what it was they didn't like about that receiver from Mississippi Valley St who went 16th to the 49ers? Can you imagine if Rice was selected at 14 and Reed was also picked in the 4th round? Wow. But every one of these drafts are filled with epic misses. If only I had a time machine...

  9. It's funny how people are ready to give up the 12th, 22nd, 53rd, 56th, 65th, and another 2019 first round pick for Josh Rosen, but can't stomach the idea of giving up the 22nd pick alone for a QB who was just named the Superbowl MVP. To be clear, I'm not advocating giving up the 22nd pick for a player who will be a UFA next year, but I also don't want to pay a king's ransom on a QB from this particular draft. I'm just smiling at how tantalizing the unknown seems to be for some of you folks.

What were his grades last year?  Seems cheap for a quality starting RT

Pro Football Focus had him rated as the 50th best tackle and a grade of "poor." https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/jared-veldheer/5594

For comparison's sake, Jordan Mills is rated as the 43rd best tackle and a grade of "below average."
