Hearing a lot of positives about Moore, but I’m gonna temper my enthusiasm a bit until they’re in pads. I remember Tavon Austin tore up minicamp a few years ago. Also on Coleman vs Hairston, you wouldn’t think a 4.61 player could burn someone who runs a 4.29, but here we are. As Jerry Rice, Anquan Boldin, and countless others have proven, speed as an outside receiver is a bit overrated. Knowing how to separate is where it’s at.

I would imagine everyone on this board enjoys the journey. Everyone. Even if the ultimate disappoint makes them physically ill, there’s a ton of fun to be had before, during, and after a (victorious) game. If that wasn’t true, we wouldn’t watch or spend a dime on the Bills. I can only speak for myself, but my “so what?” angle in response to the OP’s use of team statistics was just that… so what. Doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the journey, it doesn’t mean every season is meaningless if it doesn’t end in a Super Bowl, doesn’t mean we should ignore the great things that come with having a perennial playoff team. At the end of the day, I just personally don’t want to see team statistics posted and praised if those stats ring hollow when it matters most. What has the team achieved? What hardware? Any AFC Championship trophies? Super Bowl appearances? Super Bowl titles? At the end of the day, would it make any difference if we were 10th in offense and 10th in defense from 2020-2024 and the ride was just as fun before it ended in heartbreaking fashion? To me, it wouldn’t, so that’s why I shrug. Let’s get some hardware to back up those pretty team stats and then we can flex ‘em. Until then… so what.

He ran a 4.4 at 6’6” 246? Didn’t realize he was that big and fast, he should be dominating. Do think it’ll take more than a 3rd like this article speculates.

Or perhaps we shouldn’t brag about stats until we have a platform to stand on. Want to brag about individual stats or Josh’s MVP? Awesome, I’m right there with you - especially if it’s a concrete award the player can show off. But to brag about team stats when the team hasn’t accomplished the singular goal every team strives for year after year? It just rings hollow. You can feel differently and brag about these stats all you want, that’s your prerogative. It’s also mine to shrug at such team statistics that haven’t been backed by anything concrete.

Yes, my fault. It was Seth Joyner.

Bernard’s 2023 season is/was hard to replicate. He put up stats that year that no other LB had done in recent history, since Clyde Simmons in the 90s I think it was.

Pretty stat, but doesn’t mean much when that team from Mizzou has owned us and been to 5 SBs in less than a decade.

Surprised Gabe hasn’t signed anywhere yet.

Like that he’s being candid on Rousseau and not giving us all a stock response.

From Sean McDermott’s day 1 presser: Everyone is in attendance except James Cook. Joey Bosa will not participate for the foreseeable Spring, pulled his calf. McD feels it’s a real compliment to being selected for Hard Knocks. Despite no official release from the team about their participation, it looks like Coach is embracing it.

Owners approve a change to the onside kick rule
Brand J replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said that if they go the difficult kicking route, rather than a FG, I’d like to see the punter stand at the 50 yard line, all by himself, and have to punt the ball inside the opponent’s 5 yard line to win back possession. He can coffin corner the kick or it would have to come to a rolling stop. Anything short of the 5 or in the endzone is a failed attempt. Would be exciting to watch and make the punter more meaningful at least. -

Would love a down like that, but the conversion percentage should be around 10-15%, I think. How frequently are 4th and 15s converted? If it falls in that range, then yeah that’s the sweet spot. The biggest issue would be officiating. Let’s say the team fails to pick up the first down, but oh wait, a DB tugged on a WR’s jersey. 5 yards and an automatic first down. That would be nightmarish. -
I remember when I feared losing Gabe Davis to free agency because the FO might try to prioritize re-signing Tremaine Edmunds. Fun times.

I don’t doubt it. Just off the top of my head, he had what should’ve been a drop in the Broncos game (Bills rushed to the line of scrimmage and got the play off), had a first down drop in the Baltimore game that went through his hands as he slid, had another contested drop in the same game, and had the crucial drop in the AFC Championship. For someone who supposedly had the best hands in the draft, he wasn’t nearly as sure handed as I’d expect from someone with that billing.

After his successful rookie season I fully expected Kincaid to hit the weight room and come back for his sophomore campaign with more muscle and functional strength. It didn’t happen last year and it looks like it didn’t happen again this year. Maybe he’s content with being an NFL player and just doesn’t put in offseason work. Josh and Beane have both commented about how Keon has come back bigger and stronger. I’ve never heard these things about Dalton and he’s already an older player as it is. Cant use youth as an excuse.

Don’t disagree at all with what he said. It doesn’t matter how you get it done on offense, or how you score, if you set team records on that side of the ball, but have a defense that continues to bring the squad down year after year, shore up that defense. Would we like an alpha #1 receiver for Josh? Sure. But that guy likely wasn’t available in the 3rd+ round anyway. Or maybe he was, time will tell. I’m more than happy with the draft’s focus on defense. Most of you overlook the fact that a better defense (I’m not talking about a #1 overall that consistently folds) will directly help Josh and the offense as well.

I absolutely LOVE the DL and secondary makeover, just gotta hope the picks hit and totally revamp the defense.
-
I remember one goal line stop against the Titans I believe that was impressive, but not much else outside of that play. Rooting for him to step up, we need him.
-
It’s pretty foolish to write a draft pick off after one season, but Carter gives me Boogie Basham vibes. I don’t see anything he does particularly well, no overwhelming power, size, or athleticism. He’ll have to step it up for sure if these draft picks come in balling.
-
Sign me up for the best secondary player left at the next pick, one with speed. Don’t care if he’s a S or CB, secondary still needs more attention. I’d go there before WR if the prospects have relatively equal grades.
