  1. The problem is...what is "completing the process?" That question isn't just for the vans non-catch. Its for a lot of endzone plays. When does the process stop, especially if a player stays on his feet? I personally find it ridiculous that if i catch a pass in the endzone, have maintained possession, get 2 feet in, and step out of bounds, its a TD, but if i do the same, yet lose the ball when i hit the ground, its incomplete.
  2. Why not run it On the 3rd and 1 play? The run was working all second half. Also, a cconveniently missed defensive holding on that pass.
  3. They arent forcing the NFL to give it away for free. This would allow for cable and satellite companies to show games that are blacked out. In essence, it would allow people who already pay to see the games to watch them. Blacking out sunday ticket is bogus, because those subscribers have paid to see the game. Therefore they are no different than someone who purchases a ticket to see the game. Both parties paid to see it, therefore they should be allowed to see it.
  4. The fans are only ones teeth gnashing over the "base" defense. As was stated above, at least half of your defensive snaps contain 5/6 DBs, so the concept of a "base" defense goes out the window. Good players can play in any scheme. Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus can play and would excel in a 4-3 or a 3-4. Nick Barnett coudl play MLB in either. Get good players, and then you can fit them to whatever the situation deems necessary. You don't need to have a player at position X be at size Y to successfully run a defense.
  5. Caught a bit of it the other night and Aj's right. There's zero talent left. Some nice singers that i wouldn't mind listening to as background music at a bar or something, but no stars. And the absolute crap that is getting sent to hollywood is astounding. At least there's some eye candy, and we have the comedy from Steven Tyler making inappropriate comments about 15 year old girls.
  6. Why is "cougar" an offensive term all of a sudden?
  7. Amazing how there were a select few who fought so vehemently against Miller for no other reason than the fact he weighed 240 instead of 250.
  8. Drew Brees puting up 32 points and scoring 15 points in the final 4 minutes is "getting a faceful of good D"?
  9. There was also some #52 for the 49ers in coverage of Jimmy Graham on the go-ahead TD. I suppose its not equally his fault for getting torched is it? or was Whitner wearing both #52 and #31 on that play?
  10. So our training staff is so good they can predict Evans' injury (despite the fact he only missed 5 starts in his final 6 years in buffalo), yet they can't predict injuries to our own guys? Just because the trade appeard to "work out" from the Bills prospective doesn't mean it is all of a sudden a wise trade to make. Selling off talent to free up a few bucks for ralphie is still not a good way to run a franchise, and the next time they do it, they may end up getting burned. It's not the trade, its the mentality behind the trade that most of us are arguing against. That being that it's been to try and line ralphie's pockets with a few more millions than it is to try to win a few more games.
  11. QBR is nothing more than a stat made up by ESPN so they can pump up whatever QB they are currently hyping.
  12. It was a clean hit on thomas. Thomas dropped his head to try and plow into the endzone. It was not intentional. Plus, if those hits were illegal, you'd see a dozen flags per game, because there are so many helmet-to-helmet per hits on RBs every game.
  13. Tebow should start a charity where money is donated for every incomplete pass. They'd make billions.
  14. You think holcombs arm is knowledgeable about statistics.
  15. Try again old timer. Started watching the Bills in 1987, when i was 6.
  16. The way i read it, the FCC currently blocks cable and satellite providers from showing a local game that's blacked out. If they dropped that legislation, then it seems to me that the NFL could still blackout a local game, but a cable or satellite provider could show the local game in that area. So perhaps sunday ticket subscribers could get a local game on that even if it's not on local TV.
  17. This has to be categorically false. I've been told hundreds of times that spending a 1st round pick on a CB will ruin a franchise and send it down a path of failure. Duane Brown was drafted in the mid 20s, IIRC. Also, ask the Rams how far repeatedly taking tackles at the top of the draft has gotten them. I'm not saying ignore OT, but there's a lot more to OL success than simply spending a high pick on an OT.
  18. I don't think any GM would offer that, but if they did, you take that trade in a heartbeat. This might be different if Freddie was 24, but he's what, 31? Its a no-brainer. Make the trade.
  19. Good grief. Go back and try to pass a basic anatomy class before spouting off. This ranks as one of the most asinine things i've ever read on this site.
  20. Captain Hindsight's favorite drink is Coke.
  21. If Fitz is a "backup" QB, then there are about 16-20 other "backups" starting for NFL teams. Tough as it is to believe, there is an area between "franchise QB" and "backup" QB.
  22. The problem people have is that you dog stevie for dropping the pass in the pats* game, yet you fail to credit him for making a good clutch catch on the very next play and converting the 4th down.
  23. On the flip side, a shutdown CB can give the DL another second or 2 to get to the passer. A good pass rusher or a good CB will both benefit our D, so i'm fine with it if they go in that direction.
  24. And yet, the number of Bills "high" picks on DBs are right in line with the league average. people let their anger about taking Whitner over Ngata cloud their vision on what really happened in the draft. For example, starting with 2006, we've spent more 1st rounders on the DL (3) than the secondary (2).
