  1. Then you've read nothing i have said about bunkley. Either way i hope we dont go DT in round 1, we need huff or davis.
  2. you cant even read enough of the thread to find out who is on the cover? and you are going to be a lawyer? remind me to never hire you.
  3. on a little FSU crusade i see?
  4. Madden took down eddie george, it led to the demise of marshall faulk. No way i am drafting Shaun Alexander in fantasy football next season.
  5. Payton from the saints said that last years #1 Jammal Brown is moving to LT. The saints will take mario williams or aj hawk. the jets do have a hole at LT, but they just signed clement, and they also are the jets, so they wont do the logical thing. SF paid JJ 35 mil to be a LT, they arent going to switch him to guard or RT for that kind of money. No way do they tie up 70 mil in 2 tackles. Thats how d'brick could fall. remember this about the jets...#9 overall pick, warren sapp on the board, they select kyle brady.
  6. i had the exact same thought. At least she'd draw fans.
  7. Just because the dolphins didnt want him doesnt make him hurt worse than culpepper. Brees is supposed to be throwing already by now, and should be ready for the start of the season. He did hurt his shoulder, but it wasnt a pennington type of injury. Brees will play a LOT more than culpepper this year.
  8. We'd need to trade for Rix's favorite receiver here at FSU, Sean Taylor. Rix is dumb as hell. Not to mention the guy was so full of himself. Out of thr roughly 35,000 students here, about 34,917 hated him. To put it in perspective, when the QB of your nationally ranked football team parks in a handicapped spot, your students shouldnt be fighting over who gets to call the cops on him. tells you how much he was liked. The guy throws off his back foot, and makes poor decisions. But he can take a hit and is durable. And, to his credit, he is a hell of a pure athlete. just has a rock between the ears.
  9. Ahh, didnt see you are a newbie. Take a look at where i am from on the sidebar and take a guess which school i go to. Then you'll understand why wimbley is the obvious choice for me.
  10. where do you get this? Culpepper is going to miss half the season. Brees will be ready for the opener. I tihnk he may be ready for training camp.
  11. I think they'l both end up being solid NFL players. I had to vote wimbley though, for obvious reasons.
  12. Stop. right now. First you agree with me. now, you agree with me again, on a QB thread. I am going to log off and go hide in a bomb shelter, because surely the apocalypse is close at hand.
  13. No, that looks more like a system of high pressure smug.
  14. Bill and Rich, what worries me is that a lot of teams seem to be high on these rock solid guards. I've been getting this sinking feeling recently that all 3 (spencer, lutui and joseph) may not be around for our 2nd round pick, let alone our 3rd. I read an article on the bears website a few days ago (pure specualtion obviously) that thye may be interested in joseph with their 1st round choice.
  15. Actually they dont have as much money tied up as it seems. Brees got a big contract, but essentially its a 1 year 10 million deal. after this upcoming season, they owe him a $12 mil roster bonus to keep him, or they can cut him free. So Brees is making 10 mil for a 1 year tryout for ther saints. But they are not as tied to him as it seems.
  16. For some reaosn, D'brick is the one top marquee player i see as a likely candidate to fall to the bills over any other of the top 5. hawk could fall, but i think the saints are going to find a way to get him. I see D'brick falling to us in this way... Hou - bush (obviously) NYJ (from NO) - leinart (they need some big name to get the fans pumped again, plus they can adress other needs at the #29) Ten - young (who they want all along) NO - Hawk GB - Williams (they might take D'brick, but with williams slipping to 5, they cant pass on him) SF - Davis Oak - Huff Buffalo - Ferguson...and all is well
  17. I cant see the WR swap happening. Denver would need to give up more. The 1, 2, 2, or 1, 2, 3 may be enough to jump form 15 to 5, but the packers want a 1st rounder (it was on espn yesterday, no link tho) for Walker. What the trade actually means is that SF can take vernon davis with pick #6, and doesnt have to worry about a CB/S until pick 22 when they can grab cromartie or yobouty.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2413928 just confirming for you before the "link?" crowd can sink their jaws in...
  19. Happy birthday to everyone, especially miss sharapova...

  21. I'm already in Max Nation...he graces the background of my cell phone.
  22. Me and some friends used to run a playoff hockey pick 'em every season thru most of college. Well, with the new season, i figured i'd bring it back to life here on TBD. Rules are simple. At the beginning of each round, you pick the winner of each series and the number of games they will win in. After each round i will tally the points, and accept the entries for the next round. Heres the points breakdown: Points for series winner - points for number of games correct 1st round: 2-1 (24 points possible) 2nd round: 3-2 (20) conference finals: 5-3 (16) Stanley Cup Finals: 7-4 (11) Go ahead and post your picks here. Picks must be in by 5pm on friday 4/21. I will also post my picks on here shortly. Here are a list of the 1st round series for your copy/paste pleasure. Eastern Conference 1 Ottawa vs 8 Tampa Bay 2 Carolina vs 7 Montreal 3 New Jersey vs 6 NY Rangers 4 Buffalo vs 5 Philadelphia Western Conference 1 Detroit vs 8 Edmonton 2 Dallas vs 7 Colorado 3 Calgary vs 6 Anaheim 4 Nashville vs 5 San Jose
  23. Perhaps is you spent as much time reading a post as you do in writing the response, you would see... 1. I said do not turn this into a bunkley vs ngata debate and 2. re-read my original post on how smaller quicker DT's stop the run...they swarm. I'm not marv, i dont know the plan aside from triplett and a draftpick or 2 along the line. But what i do know is that the world isnt over if we pick a smaller quicker DT (no matter who it is). Since we have a cover 2, i think the Bills would be leaning toward a smaller quicker DT.
  24. Stop agreeing with me. Its frightening. And yes i agree, theres are more than 1 way to skin a cat. In a cover-2, run stopping can be done with smaller quicker linemen that swarm. Sure it may be more vulnerable to the run right up the gut, but swarm 2 or 3 linemen around the ball carrier and you can shut them down. As i said, i'm not fighting that 1 defense is better than another, just trying to shed some light of the preconceived false notion that you NEED a big fat DT to stop the run.
