so when you're "scouting" players via youtube, feel free to explain to me how you know what each and every player's assignments were on a given play, and whether or not they fulfilled their assignment. You say "look, there's a safety getting late over to the play, he sucks and is slow to react." The real NFL scouts say, "the safety was assigned to play a deep half and to double the X WR, and he's got the closing speed to get all the way across the field and make the tackle on the Z WR." Revisionist history at it's finest. JPP was considered a highly questionable pick, as he was a one-year wonder out of a lower level school in a crappy conference who left school early. But now, everyone "knew" that he was awesome and the Bills should have drafted him.

Sanders had 8 total penalties in 13 games. Try watching the gamse sometimes. The onyl reason you're pissed at him is because there was a big play called back by a Sanders hold. Also, if you'd watched the games and followed FSU football, you'd have easily seen that the problems with the OL were the rest of the line. Farenkrug never cut it at OG last season. They started 3 guys with minimal starting experience, including some true freshmen. For the rest of you, in 2010 (Sanders jr year), he was lined up next to one of the most senior-laden, experienced lines, with the likes of Rodney Hudson (2nd round OG and 4 year starter), Ryan McMahon (3 year starter at C), and Datko (then a jr). In 2011, Sanders was starting next to the likes of a Juco transfer, a couple of sophmores and RS freshmen with minimal playing time and some true freshmen. But yeah, lets blame FSUs OL problems on Zebrie Sanders.

Well, there is that minor little detail that the entire scouting department has been revamped in the past 1.5 years.

You're confusing Datko and Sanders. Sanders started the last 36 consecutive games in college, and started 50 total in his career. He's played both the right and left tackle spot. To me from the times i've seen him, he seems to project as more of a LT in that he's got the athleticism as opposed to raw power in the blockign game. He'll probably go mid to late 2nd round. We could do worse than taking him in the 2nd. Datko is the guy with quite a bit of talent, but simply can't stay healthy. He's be worth a flyer in the mid to late rounds. As for the video, FSUs OL is taught to stand still and not move when there's an offsides, just to highlight how none of them moved and the penalty was on the defense. That's where that play comes from. It's not as if he just forgot to block on one play.

I'd also like to add that there's no longer any questioning Kat's rampant stupidity. Appendicitis? Whats that?

I'd like to see them come up with a 4 and 8 game IR system, much like the disabled list in baseball. I'm all for the change in replay to the booth, mainly for the reasons Simon stated above.

LBs are largely becoming obsolete in today's NFL, as on the majority of snaps, you're going to only have 1-2 LBs on the field. (with 4 DLs and 5-6 DBs) Given that we have Barnett and Sheppard, and that Scott is the Nickel LB, there's no point in wasting the #10 pick on an LB. Think about it: Most of the time we're going with Barnett himself (4-1-6), or Barnett and Scott (4-2-5). Do you really want to piss away the #10 pick on a LB that only plays 40% of the downs, and one that wasn't very imp[ressive at the collegiate level? The guy racks up big tackle numbers, and thats about it. If we are going to waste the #10 on an LB, i'd rather it be Upshaw/Hightower.

My friend (a saints fan who doesn't care one way or the other about tebow) says that its only a matter of time before we catch little timmy in a hotel room with coke and some tranny hookers. NYC just ups those odds.

How did the broncos jerk him around? The defense got them into the playoffs, not tebows horriffic QB play. They talked about benching him because he was that terrible. Swap the name Brady Quinn for tim tebow and there's not a single person shedding a tear over all of this. People like YOU are the reason no one wants tebow on their team. The negatives he brings (terrible QB play, moronic fan base) outweigh any possible football related positives he could bring to a team.

+1 I'd even make it a conditional pick with it becoming a 6th if they DO trade him to the fins or jets.

Let's assume for a second the Bills are interested in bringing him in as a #3/wildcat QB to run a few plays per game, and to attempt to develop him into a viable starter over the long haul. Still, even with those caveats, the negatives that come along with him (the circus sideshow and mouth breathing followers) vastly outweigh any positives he brings from a football standpoint.

Reagrdless of position, the 5th round pick would probably have a better completion % if we played that player at QB.

Watch Jax swap Gabbert for tebow. Gabbert could then sit the bench for a few seasons under Peyton.

The league is a modified keeper league where each offseason you can keep from 0-6 players, provided they fit under the offseason "cap". Player values are determined based on round drafted, with increasing cost in subsequent years. As new owner, you'd participate in an expansion draft, where you could snag unprotected players from other teams to "stock" your roster before the keeper process begins. PM me if interested. We're trying to get the keeper process in motion by wednesday or thursday.
