  1. All this talk about drafting punters in round 1 invalidates the entire argument. Debate in terms relevant to the argument instead of using the far extreme that will happen 0.000001% of the time. Draft value is meaningless, because if the Bills think Cordy Glenn is going to be a good LT and they take him at 10 and he turns out to be good, it makes no difference if they were considered to have "reached" for him or got poor "draft value." The entire reason the "draft value" argument is myopic is because there's no basis of comparison to generate "value" from. When someone claims the Bills got good or bad draft "value," they are doing nothing but repeating what Mel Kiper or suntanman told them. Chances are, kiper's or suntanman's list was WRONG in the first place. Idiot draftniks and mock drafters use words like "value" and "reach" so they can do nothing more than say they were right and the NFL team was wrong. And therein lies the crux of the argument. All of this talk about "value" and "reach" begins on the FALSE assumption that the mock drafter's list is correct and the NFL team's list is wrong. Know a team that has gotten excellent "draft value" in the recent years? Carolina with Everette Brown and Jimmy Clausen. How have those "great value" picks worked out for them? I bet they'd much rather have actual talented players instead of great value.
  2. While i do believe unquestioned that there is life out there, there's no telling what "form" it takes and what type of "intelligence" it has. Furthermore, on the chance that we DO discover signs of life elsewhere, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it once discovered.
  3. Yeah, but take a look at how many posters here prattle on and on endlessly about such meaningless phrases like "draft value" and "trade down from 10" and "player X is a great pick in round Y". All that matters next thursday is getting good football players. Not "reaches" or "not maximizing this utterly moronic term called 'draft value'," just picking good football players.
  4. Barnett had played in at least 15 games in 7 of his 9 seasons. How exactly does that make him injury prone? I dislike the fact that way too many people toss around the "injury-prone" label to a player who has had an injury or 2 over the course of a career.
  5. Players don't "shoot up" the draft boards of NFL teams. They only "shoot up" the draft boards of idiot "draftniks" and mock drafters. Blaine Gabbert wasn't a mid round pick that all of a usdden became a top 10 pick after the season was over. Only in the mind of fans did this happen. NFL teams had all the film on him and didn't move him from #100 to #10 based on an interview and the combine. He was most likely ranked much higher than most "draftniks" had him rated early on in the process.
  6. Glenn played OT his senior season.
  7. While they never wore them, those red jerseys aren't a knock off. Those were official NFL jerseys sold in stores. Multiple teams have done this. You can buy yellow Packers/Vikings jerseys that they've never worn on the field.
  8. What kind of morons have the trophy out where it can be knocked down? FSU's 2 crystal footballs are proudly on display...inside of a glass case in a wooden stand. The only way they're getting knocked over is if you drive a car into the athletic facility.
  9. I'll watch NFLN. ESPN has been, and will continue to be garbage for a long time. I don't want to watch a first round where ESPN talks about Dallas, the jets, and the pats* non-stop, only briefly interrupting their circle jerk to update who just got selected. On a semi-related note, does anyone else hate how now they show the guy on the phone just moments prior to being picked? It takes any and all fun/suspense out of the actual selection. I used to like it when you had no idea who was being picked until the commish announced their name/position.
  10. These "bronies" should be on some type of watch list and be forbidden from coming within 500 yards of any elementary school.
  11. Then they didn't get very good knock offs. I compared my knock off Dareus with a real authentic one purchased by someone in our Bills backers. There is zero difference between the 2 jerseys. Sure, there are bad looking knock offs, but the good sellers know how to replicate the jerseys.
  12. You don't take an OG at #10. Even if he is a HOFer, the impact he'll have (versus his replacement) will be minimal.
  13. No way do the Bills keep 3 rooks as LBs on the final 53, especailly when that's half the depth chart, and cut Moats in the process. Moats has shown he can get to the QB, so he's got tremendous value, at least situationally. I also doubt they take a LB in round 2, when Wanny uses LB as a plug and play position with no need to spend lots of resources on them.
  14. Multiple offers to trade down doesn't necessarily mean any good offers to move down. You can put a $1000 sticker on a car for sale, and just because you got multiple offers in the $50 range doesn't mean you should sell.
  15. Teams can block lower level assistants frmo interviewing for a promotion. They can't block coaches from interviewing for a HC job. Tampa asked for permission to interview a number of position coaches for their OC job and were denied by the coaches teams (GB, Ariz, NYG).
  16. So who does Philly get to play LT for the 9 games Bell's injured?
  17. A filled in square is double bogey or worse. Circles are under par, on a hole, squares over. I hope Bubba can hang on here and win. Oosthuisen has been one of the luckiest SOBs in today's round. His double eagle was ridiculous. Edit:BUBBA! Great win! Another one for all of lefties out there!
  18. Hmmmm. Very interesting how Nawrocki had the OLs sooo completely differently rated than most other media outlets.
  19. As someone else mentioned, no way do they make the Bills fly across country on a short week.
  20. There are probably 8-12 teams in the league that have different colored collars, just like Buffalo.
  21. There's not much they can do about injuries. Those had a huge impact. If there's any doubt, look at the sabres records with and without Erhoff, Myers, etc. All wasn't going to be fixed in 1 offseason. But the team is on the right track.
  22. I know. What the sabres need is a coach who can lead them to something like 4 ECFs and a stanley cup!
  23. Given a chice between a 4 and a 40, i'd see which guy has the better on-field track record. Morris Claiborne didn't have too much trouble digesting (or understanding diagrams) for LSU's championship level defense, did he? You guys are extrapolating "intelligence" much too far.
