  1. At least to me, keeping Levitre is worth it at 7 and change, but no higher. Once you start getting over 8, i've got an issue. I won't be happy if he leaves and signs elsewhere for the numbers you mentioned.
  2. I'm much rather spend $9 mil on Levitre than spend it on a strictly RT with a history of weight and motivational problems. I'd put 2013 Andre Smith as closer to a haynesworth than a road grader.
  3. They all played on crappy offensive lines? OLs function as a unit, so if Levitre walks, the replacement already has a leg up on the guys on your list, seeing how he's playing alongside Glenn, Wood, and Urbik.
  4. Agreed. There's too much unknown out there right now. If Levitre is bent on testing the market, maybe he simply wanted an offer in hand from the Bills to gauge interest or $, and maybe Buddy wasn't going to play ball if Levitre wasn't serious about re-signing before FA. Everything i have read is that Levitre wants to test the market, but would stay here for a "fair" deal. Again we have no clue what his idea of "fair" is.
  5. The jury is still out on Dalton, that's for sure. I'm just basing my opinion on what i've seen from him. I just don't see him as the type of guy who can gut it out and pick up a team and carry them to victory, like the 5 guys you listed. As for Flacco, he's shown that he's got the ability to play out of his mind when the huge chips are on the table, especially in the last 2 seasons. I still don't want Dalton, but passing on Kaep is honestly mind-boggling. He was the perfect fit to a Gailey offense, so i'm not sure why he wasn't considered. Hopefully we solve the QB situation this offseason.
  6. Good post. Late round picks making the team are great stories, but in all honesty, how many of them make it to the opening roster? Lots of teams cut late round picks, and the vast majority are probably out of the NFL before the start of year 2. It's a strange balance. A late round pick or UDFA making the team shows some good scouting. Lots of late round picks making the team shows a lack of overall talent on the team. Many people fail to understand that there's very little difference between 5th-7th round draft picks and UDFAs. Of all the college players eligible to be drafted, there's little difference between the #150 and the #250 ranked player.
  7. Dalton is actually the worst kind of QB to have. At least with Fitz, we know he sucks and that we need to replace him. Dalton is one of those guys that's not good enough to ever take a team to the promise land, yet he's just good enough to not have to urgently worry about replacing him. He's ridden the coattails of a good defense to make the playoffs. On Buffalo, he'd be terrible. There are many reasons to bash buddy, but passing on Dalton isn't one of them.
  8. I don't have the link, but word is the Fins have a chub for him. As for the bills, i think the biggest surprise will that instead of 2-3 signees, we'll see 5-6 mid level signings.
  9. At the same time, what if the agent tells the Bills that their offer better be in the 8-9 million per year range or don't even bother talking to us? Levitre said he'd love to say if the Bills offered him a "fair" deal. We have no clue what his idea of "fair" is.
  10. Top DEs make in the $12 million per year range. Kelsay made $6 mil per year. Whats so out of whack?
  11. What specifically about Werner makes you say he's unspectacular?
  12. Ryan is as good as or better than any QB not named Peyton, Brady, Rodgers or Brees.
  13. I can't imagine the NFLPA is too happy about this. The deal does nothing but devalue the franchise tag for QBs.
  14. If Geno is on the board at #8 the card with his name on it better be in Goodell's hand immediately. As in Spiller style.
  15. It wasn't Kahne's fault. That worthless prick kyle busch got into the back of Kahne and spun him. I hate Kyle Busch.
  16. For the record, i don't like the move at all. They had nothing to lose by keeping him., He's not a great WR by any stretch, but at this point, there's no reason to let him walk, not until they've got someone better on the roster. He's a decent 4th WR.
  17. It wasn't a bad move at all. The high line was moving faster for quite a while. Also, the drivers know their cars and know what line is running best for them. Just because Gordon got a good draft doesn't mean that Danica made a bad move. It took 10 laps before the low line was anywhere close to the high line. She would have been back in 6th-8th if she started low.
  18. Forgive me for waiting for confirmation on whats going, instead of taking your cue and acting like a frothing lunatic and using the opportunity to start a "i'm smarter than the Bills, and i hope they fail so i can be proven right" circle jerk.
  19. Let's go Tony and Danica! (and Denny) Outside lane can be the faster line at Daytona. Not uncommon at all.
  20. The Bills may not tender Nelson because they may intend to sign him to a multi year deal. But thats just logic speaking.
  21. Well, seeing how the physical drills comprise what, maybe 1/3 of the combine activities, there are lots of reasons for Russ to be there. He doesnt need to watch the 3 cone drill, but you can bet your ass that he's in on the official and unofficial interviews that are conducted. And those are much more important than any measurables.
  22. I love Werner, Kashman. He's frickin Von Stryker! But I doubt he'll even make it to us at #8.
  23. That's freakin hilarious.
  24. I'm already on record with my thoughts on EJ, so from the others, my favorites are Lonnie Pryor, Tank Carradine, and Dustin Hopkins. Pryor is a jack-of-all trades back. He was asked to play FB because of a glut of talent at the RB position. But they wanted him on the field as much as possible. He can run, he can catch (caught quite a few passes), and he's very reliable in pass protection. He's the ultimate team-first guy who is going to do whatever he's asked. I like him as a 3rd down RB, and would love to see him mixed in with Freddie and CJ. Carradine was a beast and its such a shame he tore his ACL in the UF game. He blew up for us after Jenkins got hurt. It was a real surprise. He's always looked good in rotational spots in his earlier seasons, but a lot of were surprised by how good he looked. He'd have probably been a 1st rounder. But if he falls to the top of round 3, he's definitely worth taking there. Hopkins is worth looking at as a Lindell replacement. Cannon for a leg. Can boom kickoffs, but also place them where needed. To me, he was one of those kickers for us where when he lines us, you're not worried he's going to miss the kick.
  25. Here's a pretty good primer on the 13 FSU guys headed to the combine and thus, draft eligible. http://www.seminoles.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/022013aaa.html The guys they profile are: QB EJ Manuel, RB Chris Thompson, RB/FB/everything back Lonnie Pryor, WR Rodney Smith, OT Menelik Watson, DEs Tank Carradine, Bjoern Werner, and Brandon Jenkins, DT Everette Dawkins, LB/S Nick Moody, CB Xavier Rhodes, former CB Greg Reid, and K Dustin Hopkins. As usual, i've seen all these guys play and can answer most questions on them.
