I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad

I got through four or five eps of MadMen a while back, but I couldn't get into it either. I didn't really feel compelled to keep going with it. -
Accepted...now I have a team in the EPL to go along with my new team to support in Serie A. I didn't know Podolski was playing for Arsenal, so that makes the decision easy, especailly since I had taken interest previously when Henry was playing for them...the other points you made are just icing Go Arsenal!!

I got butterflies in my stomach reading that...I love what you said about how the common bond of Arsenal fandom brings together people from all different cultures and backgrounds...that is truly awesome! I'm a fan of Thierry Henry, so I used to pay attention to Arsenal whenever I was getting caught up with the happenings in the Premiership. I used to love watching Man.U the most when they had C.Ronaldo...that dude can play ball. The only other team I really followed a bit was Bremen in the Bundesliga while my boy Klose was playing for them. So I don't really have a team that I follow, but your experience has me a bit fired up about Arsenal again! Thanks for sharing that...I wish I could have been there with you guys! I don't know the songs, but I would happily fake it Skill tempers luck

Yep, I think that's a great point...especially when there is seemingly no reason for it at times. If there is a defender in your face or you're trying to get off a shot before an angle closes or whatever, that can be understandable...but other times it's a wide open opportunity and they botch it. This is making me think of Josh Freeman the other night...that guy was so far off the mark, I don't remember ever seeing a pro QB coming close to that level of ineptitude...even in college, I've never seen passes that far off the mark.

That's funny you say that, cause that IS one of the things that annoys the hell out of me...I played the game for many years so I have an appreciation for how much skill is required even at an intermediate level, but sometimes it amazes me how a pro can completely fuggup a shot and go launching the damn thing a mile above the goal. And just cause I always love an excuse to post it...here's one of my favorite goals ever from the WC back in 2006: This is NOT easy to do!

It creates false expectations, too...instead of focusing on the steady gains the sport has made over the last 15 years in particular, they focus on these projections and start up with delusions of grandeur. I think it's awesome that the 12-24 demographic is taking notice of the game...but some of these reports lose perspective. And I agree...I can't remember the last time I saw a 0-0 match....especially watching the Americans. What were you doing while the super bowl was on?

Same here. As you know, I had been wanting to see Klinsmann get the gig for many years before it finally happened, and to see the national team in such great shape is a great feeling. I expect us to have a very solid showing next year in Brazil, and I couldn't be more proud to have him as our coach. As for soccer's popularity, obviously it will never be the NFL, but as you said, it doesn't need to be...I'm very happy to have the access to it that we have currently, especially now that the Premiership has so much more visibility and the MLS has really solidified it's core market. It's the second greatest sport in the world and it's here to stay. And as for Mrs Totti...holy wowza!!!!

Yesterday afternoon, my friend and roommate comes into the apartment just after heading out the door to work with a very frazzled and panicked look on her face. She asks me if I would come listen to her car cause something was very wrong. I went out and stood near the car as she started it up, and the noise was so startling that I literally jumped back thinking that something had exploded. I was planning to call AAA to have her car towed when her son-in-law, a mechanic, came out to take a look. He got under the car and said he knew exactly what the problem was...the entire catalytic converter assembly had been removed. My friend called the cops and filed an insurance report, and after the police finished writing up their own report they explained that there have been THIRTY reports just in our area alone over the last month. Apparently this is a very widespread problem, as thieves are stealing this part of the exhaust since it's made from platinum. I went online to see how much press the issue has received, and it looks like this is a very serious and growing problem. Anyway, many of you may already know about this, but I don't recall anyone posting about it so thought I'd give you a head's up. We live in a gated community in what is considered to be a relatively safe area with a low crime rate, so if it's happening here, it can happen anywhere.

Top five most disliked NFL players of 2013

+1 One of my frustrations with the league (and sports in general) is all this sunshine blowing, sterile, PC-minded crap that nearly everyone spews...the league needs players and coaches who understand the meaning of candor and who are willing to mix it up a bit. I think it's good for the NFL. I love seeing a guy willing to trash talk a bit. It's FOOTBALL for gosh sakes. -
Clay is definitely keeping his cards close to his chest...not that he's got much choice at the present time, but I totally agree that he's going to end up making a move when the opportunity arises. I think Pearlman does such a great job in that role...he's a very underrated actor, IMO. The show is better when he's in play. Opie's widow should bring some friends, too....let's make it a party I also really like that blonde MILF who is the head of the cathouse girls...she's not as physically attractive as the other girls, but something about her is very alluring. Need to double up with her, though...she did Jax and Robocop in the same show, didn't she?

I really was put off by the whole school shooting thing, because I thought it was desperate and a sign that Fonzie was about to enter stage left to hit the ramp. But the last few weeks have done a good job of turning around that opinion and I've found myself enjoying the show more than expected. I did think the keg bomb was a bit obvious, though, and felt that it was inconsistent that neither Jax nor Chibbs (whatever his name is..the irish guy) caught on. I do like the idea of blowing up the clubhouse, though....I was looking to see if the table survived since it has that sick looking carving, and I think it did. But I like the three-way play among Jax and the Sons, the Irish, and Clay. I also continue to feel that Jimmy Smits brings a lot to the table, and Robocop's character has kept me intrigued, as well. Overall, I think this season is shaping up to be relatively solid. Still needs more Drea, though.

Rome has been singing our praises for years now...when he's had local events, we came out and supported him big time. It left a lasting impression with him and he's always given us props ever since. He's definitely pro-Blo.

Thanks...yeah, I'm prob gonna have one in the next year, even though I'm not statistically in any of the higher risk categories.
