Heck yeah, all I needed to know about that film was Edward Norton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman were involved...combined with Pepper, i agree, amazing cast and amazing performance(s)

You have excellent taste in film, my friend

When they were playing that on cable all the time a year or so ago, I must have watched it ten times. I remember a lot of late nights at the (online) poker tables, cold beer in hand, True Romance on the projector in the background. Yes, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but that was the life! lol

How about Saving Private Ryan: Tom Hanks Paul Giamatti Matt Damon Jeremy Davies (very, very underrated actor) Giovanni Ribisi Vin Diesel Dennis Farina Edward Burns Barry Pepper (another underrated actor) Ted Danson

In that sense, i agree with ya. I love playing the game, I just think that that these guys are full of themselves...and when they start entertaining the notion that they are "athletes", I laugh. I used to walk 18 holes with my GRANDMOTHER when I was growing up. She was diabetic and had bad knees. So when they all started whining about the Casey Martin guy, I was embarrassed for them.
-
Actually what I was referring to specifically was the fact that the beginning of the video had a car ad, lol. I think if I were the marketing director for Cadillac or whoever, I would have been pissed!

Thanks, Gringo! I can't wait!

I lost respect for pro golfers when that whole issue with the handicapped guy in the cart came about. So many of them whined about how it was so unfair that this guy would be riding around in a cart while the rest of them had to walk. At first I could sort of see their point, but when they started getting ridiculous about how demanding it is to walk the course, and how golfers are athletes and all that, I started signing off on it. I'm in the worst shape of my life right now, but I guarantee you I could go out there and walk 18 holes today in the Atlanta heat just fine. (Just like I could get behind the wheel of a car and make all sorts of left turns for three hours on a NASCAR track...but that's another issue.) If your "sport" is so great that you're afraid of someone else having such a huge advantage because they don't have to WALK, then it's not much of a sport at all.

At least there's some common ground for the soccer fans and the hockey fans...we can all agree that golfers are pussies.

I'd say there's nothing wrong with you at all!

I just still can't get over the fact that Klinsmann basically availed himself to the job, LIVES in this damn country, and they passed on him just because of money. That's still so infuriating to me...we have a proven winner right there, ready to take on the challenge of turning us into something respectable on the world stage - and assuredly able to accomplish exactly that - and they pass on the guy You know who I think gets screwed from all our CONCACAF matches? L.Donovan. I think this is a big reason why this guy thinks he's the sh--, and then disappears in the big games. He seems to think that because he's relevant in these matches against lesser opponents, he's equally as relevant against Italy, Germany, Brazil, and the Czechs. How long do we have to hang our hat on that "sneak attack" win over Portugal? When can we say we've REALLY beaten a world power and that we've arrived? I hope I'm wrong, I just don't feel like we're getting any closer.
-
I'm gonna watch the game on my DVR today, but based on your review, sounds like the same ol' same ol'. With the exception of Freddy, of course...I hate to say it, but if Klinsmann were the coach, this team would look different. Just sayin'.... I'm going to give Bradley the benefit of the doubt since you seem to hold him in high regard, I just think we need a shake up on this team.

I would love to be present when this sort of thing happened...if there was ever a perfect time to just beat the living hell out of someone and be justified in doing it, this is about as close as it gets! -
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NiTjJULW7RE I don't care how high this kid's opinion of himself is...he can play, and he's got balls.

Did anyone see the CBS Sunday Morning Special

I haven't been interested in Journey with either of the other non-Perry front men, but I may pick up a copy of Revelation when Amazon gets it. This Pineda kid seems like a good guy, and I'm looking forward to hearing their new stuff. -
You'd think you would remember, cause it was the first time in the history of film that a poodle was nominated for an academy award! http://aim.search.aol.com/search/redir?src...Image%20Details

I forgot about Altidore...that kid is awesome! I'd love to see some of these younger players bring some excitement to this team. We need some damn personality too!
-
Amen to that. We all know that we're at a talent disadvantage, but for gosh sakes, at lest give us a solid effort to be proud of as fans.
-
I hope you're right, man. I want to get excited about this team, but you know how you can usually tell when your team is playing their asses off but just not quite talented enough vs. having talent but dogging it? I can't stop seeing them in light of the latter. Take the Bills for example. Last year I was pretty happy with their performance for the most part given the circumstances. Rookie QB, shitload of injuries, KE, etc, etc. I felt it was clearly a successful season that we'll build on this year. I didn't feel like guys were out there pussyfooting around just collecting paychecks. This soccer team just seems very wasteful to me. Not much heart, not much enthusiasm, not much drive to bring their A game. I couldn't agree more about Freddy. The kid obviously has a ton of natural talent, and the only way to coax it out of him is to let him loose against better competition. I didn't understand why DC United didn't play him much at all when he first came to MLS, and I don't understand why we aren't getting him more playing time on the national team. I'm not saying he's Wayne Rooney, but I seriously doubt anyone had reservations about playing Rooney when he was first getting his legs about him. Hell, the guy's still only like 22 or 23, and he's evolved into one of the best soccer players on earth. Free Freddy, dammit!!!! The one good thing is that I like Howard in goal over Keller. Not that it would have made any difference, but I would have rather seen Howard in goal for WC '06.

I'm really thinking we just need to overhaul this bunch of unmotivated, underachieving, no-balls bores. We MUST have some players with some talent who are also willing to leave it on the field each and every game. As I excited as I was for the England game, I was embarrassed watching it. We need some young blood, and we need players who are self-motivated. It's just really hard for me to believe that this is the best we have to offer.
