If you ever do take an interest in it, you might be surprised at how many tools there are, even just on ancestry.com. I know I've been pretty taken aback by the clarity of the documents and the way they allow you to manipulate and examine everything you come across. It's really pretty amazing. Another cool thing is that you may come across others in your family - even very distant family - who have created family trees that intersect with you. That happened to me when I was doing my search. I found my great grandfather on someone else's tree, and it helped to fill in some gaps all the way back to the "boat". It was also pretty amazing because this person had like 200 people in the tree, with info about each one, and that's when it hit me just how German I really was. I'm talking like an entire legion of Germans must have landed in Allentown, PA back in the 1800s. But yeah, it's a very impressive resource.

Easley had a drop or two last night, but on that one TD pass from Lewis he hit a top speed that I didn't know he had. He pulled away from that DB and took it to the house. I trust they'll make the best decision moving forward, but i'm sure rooting for the kid. Given how raw he was coming out of UConn, he's come a long way.

I would run, too, cause you basically told him you had your eye on him as you were walking out of the theater. -

One of the best experiences I ever had in college was when I took a community health class. We would walk the streets of Atlanta, volunteer at soup kitchens, etc, etc. One day we were discussing MLK and as we were walking about the city we realized that our instructor had brought us to Ebenezer Baptist Church. I don't know if any of you guys have been there, but as you walk in they have MLK's sermons playing over a speaker system. It's one of the most surreal and amazing experiences I've ever had. Even if I had never heard of him, like you, I could have sat there and listened to his words for hours. I'll never forget that.

1621....that's just unreal to me. Very impressive heritage! I'm just glad I could confirm I'm not an inbred Nazi.

Holy crap, you have me beat...that's pretty damn cool. That's some serious American heritage. I have my work cut out for me with my mom's side. She was adopted, but I'm pretty sure the surname was "Altmann".

Anyone use Ancestry.com at all? I'm using their free trial to play around a bit. I've already figured out that my great, great, great grandfather, Johann Engel Zeppenfeld, came to America with his family some time between 1839 and 1860 and settled in Allentown, PA. I guess that makes me 6th generation German-American, which is deeper than I expected it to go. I knew we came over before the Nazis took power in Germany, but I didn't realize it was 6 generations ago. Johann Engel Zeppenfeld (1801 Germany/Prussia) - Frederick (1839 Germany) - Frank (1880 Allentown, PA) - John (1917 Pittsburgh) - My Dad (1940s Erie, PA) - AJ (1972 Erie, PA) I also found that my dad's grandmother had the surname Steeb, which is also about as German as it gets. So between the Steebs and the Zeppenfelds, I'm about as German as it gets. (I know someone will say it's dumb to post this info, but all of it came from census data, which is obviously public record) I've also come across other people out there who have done family trees where my ancestors intersect. It's pretty cool!

Thanks, just bought mine. I can't get DTV anymore, so I was about to drop the full $299 or whatever so I could get the laptop/mobile version of Sunday Ticket. This is a great deal!

911 Revisited: How Has Your View Changed?

The only problem with what you're saying is that I didn't "a-ha!" a damn thing. I've said since the first post of this thread that I have no opinion either way. I'm simply asking if anyone has come across anything over the years that has changed the way they view 911. I'm not posting the youtube vids because I believe they are legit or any sort of validation of anything. I'm simply giving an example of the type of thing I've come across, because it's the same issues that come up over and over. I see the same sort of theories on websites, in films, on radio shows, etc, etc. Youtube just happens to the be medium I've been spending more time on lately and it was convenient to link it, but these same theories are discussed by multiple sources. But I'm not some conspiracy theorist or anything of the sort. I simply don't know enough about what is being presented and it seemed like a topic that would be appropriate for PPP. And yes, I know exactly who I'm talking to...that' why I'm surprised at the nature of your responses, because I've never been anything but respectful to you (and Chef) in the ten years I've been here. -

Great...I'll see if I can find some for you. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you are acting like this, but for some reason I am. Regardless, I really don't appreciate the sarcasm. Somehow I doubt that you're the type of person who doesn't seek out information or opinions on things you aren't certain of. I know you've got it all figured out these days, but probably there used to be a time when you needed to do that. -

The one that really threw me for a loop was Zeitgeist. I saw it a few years ago and that was the first time I had ever heard the concept of a false flag operation. It wasn't really anything I was taking that seriously until I saw that this Northwoods thing. I reacted very strongly to it at the time because I come from a long line of vets, and I found it incredibly disappointing (I want to use another word, but I'm trying to be diplomatic) to think that our government could have these sort of discussions in an official capacity. To me, it spit in the face of every man and woman who has risked or given their lives in defense of this country and, quite frankly, it enraged me. Ever since I saw that document, I've become extremely cynical about our government, whereas before I was more of a "company guy". I did see the Loose Change doc, but then I saw a documentary that was sort of a point-by-point rebuttal, so that did a very credible job of disputing the claims that were presented. -

I have no idea what is or isn't a possibility. I'm not going around making up sh*t about 911 or any other terrible event. When ideas, evidence, notions, etc are presented to me, at times I find the subject matter interesting enough to pay attention. Naturally I'm also interested to know if others have been presented with or come across similar information and what their position is on it. That's the extent of it. And for you or anyone else to suggest that I'm being insensitive to the victims of 911 because I have an interest in the events of that day and what questions/concerns people have - even the ones that are far fetched or conspiracy related - is pretty offensive to me. And as far as how people could even think it was a remote possibility...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods -

You know, if you weren't interested in actually discussing it, you could have just not bothered...that was a pretty dickish thing to say. -

Any idea what the hell that thing is that goes zipping by several seconds after the impact? I think the theory is that nobody was actually on the planes...or at least not the second one. If it was piloted, as assumed, is it really easy to fly it into the tower? I'm not disputing what you said, I just have no idea about it. And c'mon man, you don't at least find it interesting to discuss this stuff? I guess I'm just odd, cause I don't feel the need to come to any sort of conclusion other than it was terrorists who did it, but I just find all the conspiracy stuff very interesting. That makes sense. I can't really fly due to sinus issues anyway, but I think I'd actually be very dangerous to have on a plane these days. God forbid I saw anyone acting like they were going to jump up and start causing sh*t, I would fly out of my seat and beat the every loving hell out of them. I already hate the idea of being 30,000 feet in the air with someone else in control...last thing I need is someone stressing me out by trying to take over the plane. I think I'd be at risk for being a bit hasty in that situation...probably better I drive lol lol@groovy music -
I seem to be missing a pair, by the way...just sayin. Vader: I highly recommend splurging on some Thomas Lee sheets, a nice silk comforter (Amazon has some nice ones), and a Thomas Lee duvet. I never gave a crap until about three years ago, and now I'm totally sold on investing in quality bedding. Along with that comes keeping it nice and clean...just can't beat a nice deep sleep in a comfy bed.

I wasn't sure if this would be a good idea, but screw it...here is one piece of "evidence" that I thought was interesting, and I really havent' seen anything that clearly debunks it yet. The particular aspect of this video I'm interested in starts at the 4:30 mark. If you wear headphones while watching it, it helps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_402&feature=iv&src_vid=19lofrMsbZA&v=dr4BJ89Df5Q Oh, and with regard to your experience on 911....holy SH*T, man...I could NOT imagine having been right there when it went down...
