The press speculates on EJ's future
ajzepp replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1BillsFan and I have been waiting a long time for Tyrod to take his rightful place as Bills starting QB http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/127807-is-it-racist-to-say/?p=2120539 -
Hang in there, MadCap...you're in my thoughts and prayers, brother.

Feels like I lost a childhood friend. Really sad.

There's a difference between having an opinion and discussing something on a message board and "assuming they know the whole story". And there's nothing asinine about the idea that a guy with a history of losing his temper and saying/doing stupid things likely isn't going to get the benefit of the doubt when something like this happens. Further, comments like "have you ever driven a sprint car?" are just straw man arguments. If people could only have opinions about things they've actually experienced first hand, you'd have a message board full of crickets.

That's what another driver said. Someone who knows both parties and was right there in that part of the track when it happened. I agree. There was a reason why he accelerated. Whether or not it was to avoid him, or scare him, or whatever...only TS knows. "I know Tony could see him. I know how you can see out of these cars. When Tony got close to him, he hit the throttle. When you hit a throttle on a sprint car, the car sets sideways. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards." http://www.sportingnews.com/nascar/story/2014-08-10/tony-stewart-sprint-car-hits-driver-fight-incident-trouble-investigation-new-york-watkins-glen-kevin-ward

I understand what you're saying. That's just what the other racer who witnessed the incident said. As far as Im concerned, Tony Stewart knows what he did or didn't do. I don't think anyone believes for a second he intended to kill or even harm anyone, but that doesn't mean he didn't do something foolish fueled by his temper - the history of which is obviously well-established - that resulted in the unfortunate death of this kid.

I share your viewpoint, as well. I've been researching this since last night and it's apparently very common for drivers to exit their vehicle and walk out on the track after crashing, especially once the yellow flag comes out. It also appears that one of the rules when they are under yellow is that they are not allowed to accelerate. Further, two of the eyewitnesses who were situated near that turn and stated they saw everything - at least one of which was a fellow racer - stated that there's no way Stewart didn't see him, and that while Tony likely never meant to intentionally harm the kid, he clearly gunned his engine and attepted to scare him, and in this case things went terribly wrong and Ward ended up killed. The driver (Graves is his last name, I believe) also said that he feels Stewart should end up in jail. I watched the video before I knew he had passed and before I knew any of the details from witnesses, and the first thing I tweeted was how he clearly accelerated once the kid was near his vehicle.

This would be a great inspiration for the Redskins name change. In honor of the state of our political system, I give you...the Washington Stink. Put this thing in the endzone and just fire it off randomly during games.

That one got two laughs out of me...not bad.

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad

That's so cool...you can tell that this was far more than just a gig for them...it was just as special to them as it is to all of us. As much as I miss the show and am still in mourning, at the same time it was just so damn satisfying. It must be similar to what it's like to retire after winning the Super Bowl...you're sad once it's all over, but you went out on such a high and accomplished so much that there was an overarching sense of satisfaction, which makes it feel "complete". -
I turned the damn thing off when Denver went up 24-0...wtf!!

John Bongiovi interested in buying the Bills
ajzepp replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was done right around 1992, if memory serves. My buddy went into the service in '93, so it had to be the year before. I was asking her if the Bills would win it all in my lifetime, and she said no...and that's when she mentioned the Toronto thing. So this was long before there was any actual talk of moving, and she was clueless about football in general. -

I've posted this before, but in the early 90's my buddy and I saw a psychic for fun. A couple girls we worked with said she was getting all sorts of stuff right, so we gave it a shot. One of the things I asked her about was the Bills (I asked if they would ever win the SuperBowl). She said she didn't see them winning the big one, but she DID see them listed in the newspaper standings as "Tor-Buf", which she said meant that they would one day officially become the Toronto-Buffalo Bills. -
I wasn't real keen on having him back either, but it ended up being one of my favorite episodes of the series. I also thought the backgammon-playing walker was one of the most creative and memorable yet.

I rarely re-watch anything, but I'm going to watch this last episode again after the season. That may have been Sutter's finest work...I was very, very impressed.

The PERFECT Sport - What Does It Look Like?

As a fan of Soccer, part of the fun on TBD is having the anti-soccer people come into the thread and take cracks. Some of them are pretty lame, of course, but once in a while somebody will say something that makes me laugh. (Alaska Darin comes to mind here.) People will call it "kickball" and talk about pansies running around on the lawn...stuff like that. It sort of got me to thinking about what I like and don't like about other sports. I started thinking about whether there is a sport that is PERFECT in terms of my own criteria, or even one that maybe comes really close. I'd be curious to know what sort of criteria the rest of you think would need to be present if you were going to design the perfect sport. Would it be more endurance or more short burst action? Would it be cerebral and strategic? Should it involve the use of implements such as sticks, bats, or whatever else? In my world, there is one sport that comes closer than anything else. In terms of overall enjoyment and my level of engagement as a fan, it's clearly football - both the NFL and college. Soccer is a very close second. But the sport i would put above both of these in terms of what I consider near-perfection? MMA fighting, such as the UFC and Bellator. I watch MMA fights and I try to think about stuff that I'd want to change, or what I dont like, and I can't come up with much. I love sports with personalities and trash talking. (A big reason why I like Rex Ryan, no matter what team he coaches for.). I love team sports, but there is something about a sport where you are SOLELY responsible for your own success and solely to blame for your demise. I love that a great fight takes less than an hour and that I can see multiple fights/stories on one card. I love that it pushes one to the brink of their red line intensity. You can't take a play off or you pay the price. It's not restrictive in terms of fighting style...it's MY discipline against YOUR discipline...may the best man - or woman - win. So even though it's not my favorite sport, per se, it's as close to what I would consider a perfect sport. What say you?

Isn't everyone's poop green?

Somebody got it in the ass, that's for sure lol I jsut saw the KO that Woodley put on Koscheck...holy CRAP...that was about as clean as you're going to get. No wonder Josh sent Dana a retirement text after that lol

Whoa, the pic looked bad enough, but seeing GSP at this post-fight thing, he looks BUSTED UP. Johnny looks like he just got back from a date or something.
